Emma you are doing a great job to the world. I am from TÜRKİYE. I never knew existence of such place or people. All your nuristan videos should get million of views. I hope united nation and government pays you lot of money for capturing such gems which is unknown to the outside world. You really deserve it. I really enjoyed it. 🇹🇷

They are not limited to just this village, nor to this one province Nuristan. There are hundreds of such remote villages spreading all towards East including in N. Pakistan. They all are Pakhtoun people with the same umbrella civilization but some tribal differences. They are untouched, and uncorrupted, and Emma is right, their women are particularly beautiful but you just can't see them lol. Same with their children. Just amazing people with varying characters (as well as complications ;)), nowhere else to be found. The landscape is just from another planet, just like the people in it.

This is the only vlog I wait so much every morning! Your explaination about how modest the women there and the way they don't want men to see them is full of wisdom and understanding while western people mostly think about it as a form of woman oppression in Afghanistan. I can't imagine how beautiful the women are just by looking at how beautiful their children are! The Afghani rural culture is protecting the "pearls" (women) for not to be seen "for free" and that should be kindly respected. And it is amazing seeing such a rustic and vintage village in 2023!
In my home town area West Sumatra, they also grow the same weed. Our ancestors put it as seasoning in dried cow meat curry (our famous so called *Rendang*), it tastes crazilly delicious! Now our government make weed illegal for us to grow it openly since people use it for smoking and to get "high". Some people no matter what still grow it secretly.
Absolutely beautiful video Emma, your soul just match the area and the people, so adorable! 💝
A bit information about *Wahabi*, it's not another form of religion but is it a way how muslims practice Islam accordingly, let's say it's an orthodox way of practicing Islam which "purely" follow the raw and pure teaching of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him) we call it "sunnah" and what are written in Al-Quran. This Wahabism teaching or some people call it "Salafi" as well (Salafi means the 3 oldest former generations of muslims who lived after the death of our Prophet Muhammad, pbuH.) was brought by Syaikh Muhammad Al Wahabi, a religious leader who lived in the era when Al-Saud clan won the war among clans in Arab to hold the Caliphate in Arab areas, that's why they called it Saudi Arabia now. Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world who applies Wahabism in their Shariah laws. The teaching of Wahabism spread around muslim countries as a common way of practicing Islam even though the countries don't apply Shariah laws. And I think The Taliban gov and mostly Afghani people don't follow Wahabism even though Taliban people look similar like Wahabi people in Afghanistan like the area you've just visited in this video. For example, they both also apply the same teachings like not listening to music, face cover for women, and 3/4 length of pants and grow beard for men, undergo laws according to Shariah, etc, even though their philosophies partly are different. What I heard from my husband is that the Taliban and most Afghani people follow the teaching of "Deobandism". That is why your tour guide can't explain what is Wahabism, hehe. A famous British convert who follow Wahabism/Salafism is Syaikh Tim Humble, you can google about him, he is a very sweet and handsome gentleman, honestly I am his fan, hahaha. I hope you don't mind me explaining this, not too much hopefully, so you could have an idea that as muslims we are also in diversity in the way how we practice Islam. No matter what and how we live or what we believe people are just people who genuinely share kindness and respect to one another. God bless you always my dear lovely Emma... 😽😻💝🙏

Just to correct you, Wahhabis claim to do what you say but they don't. Same goes for Salafis. Remember how the Sahaba RA used to have disagreements with each other; the Salaf are thus not inherently correct. Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza talks about this. Factions are bad.

My grandmother was a Pashtun & majority of my family are blonde and green/hazel eyed , my mor was also white but we are tanned pinkish skinned because my father’s side are Kashmiris. I always wondered where my grandma’s family originated from but looking at Nooristani people , I may have the answer. My grandma was only ever seen by her husband , sons and daughters/grandchildren even though she lived in kashmir where women are free to walk around as they choose. She never exposed her face to anyone , she passed away in her late 90’s and had left a wish to be buried in the late evening which she was. I love the fact these people respect women’s privacy and each has their own role. What a beautiful people and their beautiful culture , may Allah swt make life easy for them ❤️🇬🇧🤲🏼

Amazing vlog and very beautiful landscape. The reason most boys have shaved heads is that they can’t afford to go to barber and get a haircut, but parents can use a simple blade to shave their heads at home. Also they don’t have the luxury of bating often, so it’s for hygienic reasons as well to avoid head lice … be safe ❤

I like that they build their stores out of wood, and I hope that they build their homes out of wood, which is a smart idea, so that if an earthquake occurs, there will be no risks like those who build with stones.Regarding food, I do not know if they sell canned sardines, as they can be kept and eaten with bread as food. Unfortunately, they do not have access to the sea. I hope they eliminate the criminal Iran regim that supports the terrorist ISIS in Afghanistan.

Thank you, Emma, but your translator does not understand Pashto. The only kitten has learned to get an interpreter to talk about the situation.

Wahhabism is a very strictly religious sect from Saudi-Arabia. There is no Wahhabis in Afghanistan, but the Must Afghans are Hanafi-Sunni or Ja'fari-Shia.

Lies there are no sects in Islam. Taliban are wahhabis wahhabi means anyone who practices Islam properly and hanafi is a school of thought completely different😂

Hi Emma, I love your vlogs, keep doing a great job of showing true side of Afghani people. May God protect you on your travels. However, most of the guides in Afghanistan as I see don't have much knowledge so don't believe everything they say. Religion Wahhabism doesn't exist, but people who don't follow pure Islam call people who follow pure Islam this name to insult them. Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab was an islamic scholar who taught pure islam based on Qur'an and Sunnah according to the Salaf us Salih (pious predecessors, who are companions of prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, their students, and students of students of companions), but people of innovation don't like him because they don't wanna follow rules of orthodox islam, but different sects and misguidance. Islam is only 1 religion from God, but people created sects.

Emma It's not that serious but your interpreter should be careful with these sensitive matters. Calling someone wahhabi in Afghanistan is wrong the people who he called wahabbi consider themselves as salafies/hanbali but this term wahhabi was used by some evil people to divide afghans and other sects of Sunni Islam. So some people see it as an insult if you call them wahhabi. Wahhabi ideology is a reformist idealogy that follows strict and literally teachings of Quran and prophet Mohammad that's why they are hated not just in Afghanistan but every other Muslim country. I don't hate them or have anything against them I just wanted to inform you of this info. Other then that it is not a big deal
