Same here but usually I come out when the defenders aren't doing their job and just letting the ball slide past them or when it is a 1v1 which I love. And when the attacker is ready to shoot, my coach suggests to stay still on the balls of your feet so you are ready for the ball. Everyone should know this
As someone who plays in goal at a very amateur level for more than 12 years, I think that those camera saves can only happen if the striker made the shot from a far away point from goal. In real matches, you don’t see those long shots often. I find it more beneficial to learn how to read 1v1 situations or movement around the boxes than just trying to be fancy.
Same. This is my second season as a keeper, and almost all the goalies from my club in the leagues above tell me that it's vital to master the basic saves first. It helps your team so much more winning games and making points. I love the analysis in your videos. As a very much amateur old timer goalie its great to see where the mistakes are and what people do so we can notice bad habits we may be doing as well.
The point about following your pass when building out of the back to be an option is so good. Young gks are asked more and more to build out of the back and if you make yourself an option for your teammates you will concede way less goals from them giving the ball away 👏

Ive been a goalie for 4 years and ive never ever been to a coaching nor did anyone give me any advice. All i did was watch save compilations from utube bout top keepers and underdog keepers pulling of diving saves and charging out at the right time and right moment. One coach who gave me tips on how to position and make proper decisions was GK GOLUREMI. The only legit content maker that i watched to get real time knowledge and i follow those tips during practice. Apart from those it was all just my instincts and love for being the last man standing from either saving your team or dragging them down with you. And as for my mobility and flexibility I didn't need pro stretching or exercises because i was a natural at those. And most of the time i do physical works and being active like being in the farm working etc. Now imma RB 😂
The problem with so many youtube goalkeepers is that it's reasonably easy for even a very average goalkeeper to put together a highlights reel that looks great, if you're fully in control. Saving shots is the easy part of goalkeeping, especially if you know when and where they're coming from, and where they're being aimed! Even if you don't know that however, if you record hundreds of saves then you're bound to have some that look good in there. Add in multiple camera angles, slow motion and lots of quick cuts and it's very simple to pull off some great looking saves. However it doesn't matter how good a shot stopper you are when you are doing it in isolation, if you can't read the game, position yourself correctly, make good decisions, then you will never be a good goalkeeper. Like Just a racoon, in one of the top comments, I work with a youth team. I coach for my local clubs U14 side and the influence that these "style over substance" youtube keepers have had is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand we've actually seen far more kids want to be goalkeepers in the last few years than we used to, but at the same time we're seeing far more of them who are only interested in making those big, flashy saves and don't want to learn how to actually be a good goalkeeper.
To be absolutely fair there, he's probably by that point pissed off with the shit team in front of him constantly having players sent off and giving up chances. I'd be slow getting up in those circumstances too.
@@MasterofSpidersid give him that, but with how arrogant he acts, you really can’t give him much. If I was a professional coach at a tryout, and this dude gets up slower than my grandma, I would pull him to a side and tell him to leave. I’ve seen upside down turtles get up faster than this. This is beyond slower than pond water.
He made that save because that's the only shot he is expecting, a shot aiming for the corner at the long post. Because that's the most spectacular type of save you can do.
Ill be honest, I think MB makes great content and that really what it is, it's content. What really disturbs is when he's trying to coach young kids. His sessions St Gallen and those Turkish clubs are great mainly because they show pro GK coaches in action.
I played 2 years in college, and honestly you get the chance to pull of that camera save maybe once every 5 games… most shots are just the fundamentals
7:53 Winning crosses is essential, it's like 70% of the GK in some games ... I mainly focused on being good at that, reading high balls. Huge saves and that stuff it's just 5% of the job.
Definitely lack of experience playing in a game time setting. That pre lean was my BIGGEST flaw when I came back to goalkeeping because i was a little scared for any shot since I hadn’t taken one in years. Another thing that really gives it away is his lack of distance when the striker is close to goal. Knowing your defender is either slow, not good, or just gets beat you have to close the gap some what and cut off as much angle as possible. Allowing the striker to get comfortable on a shot is just asking to get punished. As a keeper it shouldn’t be your sole job to do that, that’s what defenders are for but you can still time it to help your chances of the save. I.E. some strikers love 2 taps and shoot so on the first tap you move forward a bit to deter the full power or he slows down.
Yo ! I love your content ! Do you Have any tips on how to train alone as a GK ? especially for reaction / diving exercises. My season just ended and i got into summer break, but i need to stay fit, and train. Keep up the great work!
My first suggestion would be to try and find another keeper to work with. Working with someone else will be infinitely better than anything you can do on your own. But If that's not possible this video should help. All you really need to do is find a wall. ua-cam.com/video/g7NHWoWzyGM/v-deo.html&ab_channel=GKGOLUREMI
What can I say except that lying has no roots? Truth was gonna be revealed one day, and I hope that Bolvin learned his lesson. Tyler: You are absolutely right about that lazy get up that cost Bolvin a goal! For real, this is not excusable at all! You're also right about his lack of communication, which cost him another goal. I play 8 v 8 every week, and even though I do not save every shot (and make occasional mistakes), I'm probably the one you're gonna hear screaming and shouting the most, because COMMUNICATION IS KEY for goalkeepers. Thanks a lot for uploading the video and PEACE ✌✌
As a defender, a good vocal keeper is like a second pair of eyes, I definitely feel more comfortable with one of them behind me. Goalkeeping is so much more than just shot stopping, there's communication and distribution too.
Your right i trained to much on reactions and flashy saves so when i actually went to play i would suck on the 1v1 interactions thus i let a lot of goals in abd actially got demoted to second choice keeper
I was never a gk but I was pretty good and would often get subbed in as gk. What I noticed is that I played very similarly to him. Leading shots, dropping to my knees to early etc. so it definitely comes from inexperience
match analysis on javetas en el arco and his performance on "el partidazo de youtubers 4". although he was subbed off and then back in because of an injury, I think he did a really good job for an amateur goalkeeper

another thing i noticed is during his training he fully extends his arms for the save but in the match he doesn't really do it if you see a shot going bottom corner you gotta make yourself as long as possible when you dive
I used to play keeper a couple years as a could, and went to a couple camps. Fun to bring back out the goalie knowledge! Mike to me looks like a casual and everything I was taught as a keeper went out the window watching him. I get his defense was a joke but,Not once did I see a strong challenge or a punch or clear away from this guy and the only top save he had was is routine for a good goalie. I trained everyday and not once did my couch tell me where the ball was going and if he would he would make sure there’s contact in the way or a jump ball drill or something.
I used to play as a goalie as a kid, on regular pitch, just with my friends and random people that were on a pitch that day. Like yelling at your defenders to ga back, or to cover enemy striker that walks alone is crucial, and very basic skill.
After watching it was nice you found some good in what he did. That validates the criticisms more because you are calling a good save for what it is. Unfortunately this guy makes himself out to be great when in reality he is the Sernando of UA-cam goalkeepers, which is incredibly sad.
This is a great, very balanced video, and very useful from my point of view, because I know I make some of the same mistakes myself. Your analysis is very penetrating and you should seriously consider coaching. Some comments: (1) I don't totally agree about the rarity of camera saves. In an 11 vs 11 game, you are right, and here I agree with you about the greater importance of sweeping, kicking etc. But on these small pitches, shot stopping plays a much bigger role, in my experience. Not always flying upper handed saves, of course, but there's greater scope for frequent goalkeeping drama than in 11v11. (2) I found one of those matches on UA-cam (I forget which) and watched it almost in its entirety. To be honest, I expected Mike to be worse than he was. His all-round game, in terms of collecting, kicking, positioning etc., I found to be relatively decent. Not to the level he advertises himself, of course, but he'd make a decent semi-professional keeper. With that said, (3) For me, the first goal is the worst. I get what you're saying about the apparent laziness with which he gets back to his feet for the goal you identified as the worst, it's definitely not great, and maybe you're right that this kind of laziness is worse than the over-exuberance he shows for the first goal. But I can't abide that kind of positional indiscipline, when you're surrounded by defenders. For me, it's one of the fundamental errors of goalkeeping that keepers don't hold their position - in fact I think you did a video on it. Again, superb and largely fair analysis. I hope there'll be more, especially of Mike, because even though I don't find him such a bad goalkeeper, the exposure of the discrepancy between his self-presentation and the reality is amusing, if a little bit painful.
I remember watching that knee save and follow up goal, where he gets up all slow and casual and looks exhausted, and thinking 'this dude is suuuuper out of shape, nowhere near game ready fitness'
and he is in a youth goal - I played against a professional goal keeper once on the smaller goals. Dude was nearly 2m tall and barely fit into the goal (what most of pro goalkeeper are) and it was basically impossible to make a goal if you didn't pass around him. with shots from bigger range absolutely no chance no matter if low or high.
Okay, sure he made mistakes in that game BUT, what if someone emptied the contents of a storage locker in the 18 yard box and he has to dive over a coffee table to make a save?

I reckon any ok keeper aged around 12+ could pull off, or do something similar to around 90% of what he does in the videos
he is decent. played high youth level, just a dumbass.
I feel so good seeing these frauds getting exposed! Good work, Mr. Goluremi. The kids wanting to be better gk's need a mentor like you, not some social media guy, who keeps covering his foolish mistakes by ranting about how hard he works, calling out people. It's truly an eye-opening video for all gk's out there,
guess who’s back… back again
4:27 “no hands” absolutely brutal 😅
instantly subscribed after watching this video. very entertaining content and good at analysis. you will grow a lot if you continue!
Oh shit, i remember this beef. Nice to see we are still at it. Keep up the good work.
Love how you are not biased in any way, giving credit where it is due and still exposing the true mistakes.
He’s even pretty generous with some of the praise. If those shots at 6:47 or 10:07 go in then it’s time to hang up the gloves. They’re routine saves.
Everyone was waiting for this
Great breakdown! Honest and transparent ⚽️
I love the analysis in your videos. As a very much amateur old timer goalie its great to see where the mistakes are and what people do so we can notice bad habits we may be doing as well.
Ty so much i waited for that
The point about following your pass when building out of the back to be an option is so good. Young gks are asked more and more to build out of the back and if you make yourself an option for your teammates you will concede way less goals from them giving the ball away 👏
Hooray! Great video
honestly mate such a good video, i hope this video bangs
thank you so much for exposing these people who only care about views 👏
GK!!!!! love your vids
i love the modern gk exposing videos
I just wanna say your such a good person and player so carry on your journey 😊
Hey bro, love this content. You hit the nail on the head with explaining and analysing this dude. Just a video concept idea? Could you maybe start a subreddit and react to some of your viewers saves? I film my matches so that I can improve, and would love to see a professionals thought process/analysis of other goalkeepers just like you did in this video.
Can we see a match analysis of Dutch GK? He recorded a match and I just wanted to know if you could react to his performance?
Shows how much more tough a Game is as a Goalkeeper than Training
Yes but what this guy does isnt even Training tbf. Its just show and not even a good one.
I've always been a Keeper. I really love your content brother. 👍🏽
Common tyler W against mike 💪🏻 ..
He picks himself up like a 50yr old, both hands on knee and slowly getting up 😂😂
To be absolutely fair there, he's probably by that point pissed off with the shit team in front of him constantly having players sent off and giving up chances.
I'm not a goalkeeper (i'm a center back), but i love watching your videos. Gives me another pov of the game
Fr and he doesn't only talk about the goalie and gives advice where the defenders should be aswell. Such a great channel
ahh yes the triennial video on moderngoalkeeping looking forward to the next one in 3 years
Hey Tyler ModernGoalkeeping vids come in my fyp and they mostly just include random dives and handling stuff
great video mate!
Ill be honest, I think MB makes great content and that really what it is, it's content. What really disturbs is when he's trying to coach young kids. His sessions St Gallen and those Turkish clubs are great mainly because they show pro GK coaches in action.
Bro your save at the qualifications was angelic tho
i remember watching you expose this dude years ago 😂😂 its amazing
@@GKGOLUREMIthanks!
I was at the tournament and when I saw he was playing goalie all I could think of was your videos about him 😂
For the USA open cup the second game u showed a field that i have played at before against RSVA and i have to say the fields r nice
@@linuslaw9648 You're 💯 right
My coach always told me to work on the basics. Ball distribution, defense relief. No need for an acrobat
Your right i trained to much on reactions and flashy saves so when i actually went to play i would suck on the 1v1 interactions thus i let a lot of goals in abd actially got demoted to second choice keeper
I swear Goluremi's videos exposing Modern Goalkeeping have a seperate fanbase at this point.
I was never a gk but I was pretty good and would often get subbed in as gk. What I noticed is that I played very similarly to him. Leading shots, dropping to my knees to early etc. so it definitely comes from inexperience
Thank god. You understand and exposed him. I always waited someone to post about him with all his fake training goalkeeper!
the beef continues ‼️💨
match analysis on javetas en el arco and his performance on "el partidazo de youtubers 4". although he was subbed off and then back in because of an injury, I think he did a really good job for an amateur goalkeeper
Like the old saying goes: "Fake it till you make it!" Now he's been exposed.
that tournament was a massive L for dortmund brand, i guess someone probably got fired there.. anyway love your content! it's interesting to see football from the less glamour pro perspective, you are really good at explaining things on your understanding of the games, which you have plenty of. hoping the best for your career!
They clearly have a woman on the team so it seems like they don't really care about winning all that much with this team.
As a dortmund fan, we didnt even noticed since we had the Bellingham drama a nd losing ittle race, everyone thinking on rebuild team for next season
they played with retired players only and woman. i dont think they gave a shit about some fantasy tourament
@@brutongaster767 that's exactly the problem. they treated an 1m prized tournament where people competing seriously, as an exhibition. got destroyed, red carded, ugly matches for literally nothing but bad publicity, nobody is happy. a charity match where famous people and retired players having fun playing football would make much more sense for publicity.
@@babixillo the brand still doesnt care about it, dortmund fans have been happy to see old legends wearing their kit again. a mil prized tournament is a fantasy tournament btw. in germany itself nobody knew it existed exept people who wanted to see dede etc play- It has been a gift to the fans and i didnt hear bad things of my dortmund friends
Another great video. Do you use a certain software to analyse the game with all the arrows?
I'm 1.66 meters tall and I'm a goalkeeper in the 4th league in Romania, and I've never scored goals like that for my height I try to have the best possible positioning I have a big problem with crosses and long shots to the top corner and that's just because of the height I am 20 years old and all my colleagues told me that if I was taller I would have a chance to be a goalkeeper in the best teams in Romania or in other leagues
I laughed so hard after seeing the final standings 😂
another thing i noticed is during his training he fully extends his arms for the save but in the match he doesn't really do it if you see a shot going bottom corner you gotta make yourself as long as possible when you dive
My goalkeeper trainer almost always trains us with low or mid height balls sometimes rarely with high balls but that is just for the fun of it
I used to play as a goalie as a kid, on regular pitch, just with my friends and random people that were on a pitch that day. Like yelling at your defenders to ga back, or to cover enemy striker that walks alone is crucial, and very basic skill.
Hey Tyler, thanks for the content. For the record, I believe Noah Beck played in the sidemen match that you reviewed. Full back, maybe?
Really? I'd have to go back and rewatch that film then.
Noah beck is actually legit unlike moden gk. He was at real salt lake academy and went d1 college but quit for tiktok
That lazy stand up move is hilarious 😂😂😂😂
Haven watched yet but yeeeessssssssss. I asked for this!
After watching it was nice you found some good in what he did. That validates the criticisms more because you are calling a good save for what it is. Unfortunately this guy makes himself out to be great when in reality he is the Sernando of UA-cam goalkeepers, which is incredibly sad.
Cal the Dragon or Modern Goalkeeper?
Surprised you didnt know the former pros playing with him, they played first team football for bundesliga teams about 10 years ago
Excellent analysis
How you doing man?
@@GKGOLUREMI Not too bad. Staying on the grind
@@oliverweng114 nice, keep working
Suggestion: Can you do an analysis on iceland’s goalkeeper during the iceland vs portugal game that happened recently?
This is a great, very balanced video, and very useful from my point of view, because I know I make some of the same mistakes myself. Your analysis is very penetrating and you should seriously consider coaching. Some comments:
(1) I don't totally agree about the rarity of camera saves.
With that said,
(3) For me, the first goal is the worst.
The thing about loading a leg surprised me, I always thought u’d load the leg opposite side u wanna explode to.
THANK YOUUU. For me as a goalkeeper with passion he annoyed me.
and he is in a youth goal - I played against a professional goal keeper once on the smaller goals. Dude was nearly 2m tall and barely fit into the goal (what most of pro goalkeeper are) and it was basically impossible to make a goal if you didn't pass around him. with shots from bigger range absolutely no chance no matter if low or high.
