Hello, since you have been making a lot of “How (insert villainous character) Manipulated Everyone” videos, would you like to consider the character of Lord Yoshii Toranaga from Shogun? I think he’s a top tier master manipulator villain protagonist just like the Penguin. And he’s the role that won Hiroyuki Sanada an Emmy yet he’s so underrated that I haven’t seen anybody made a video about him yet.
Finally someone who doesnt say that "Walter White turns into Heisenberg" because that is not true. He develops into someone he wanted to be. Good video.
Waltuh in my opinion was always like that. But he simply wasn't pushed over the edge yet at that point. Which is also true to real life. Some people have the characteristics to break bad eventually after tragedy strikes, whereas others would not cave in.
He was created by the situations he was put in and choices he made aka Crazy 8 tuco jane ect. All these choices are brought to him and He takes the Moral, then Morally compromised, then ruthless Decisions. every step further into the show he developed more into who he became. Every decision Walt makes is enforced on previous choices. Walt did not have the ability to turn into Heisenberg. He had the ability to make the choices that led to his creation.
@@j.r.tomlin4265 - No.. he was created by the situations he put himself in the moment he decided to deal meth to make money. Knowing the destruction it causes he already comprimised himself. Each situation was a question: how far are you willing to go?
@@MrPhixdIt Walt decision to make meth Did not Compromising him. Walt would not have killed Emilio if they didn't want to kill him and Jesse. crazy 8 would have been let go knowing that he could kill his own family. He only makes the decision to finish it when he discovers 8 plans to stab and kill him. He doesn't attempt to harm Tuco until Jesse is Attacked. None of the situations above did Walt "put himself into" they were brought by circumstance and others around him. The same Walt at the beginning of the show would have never let Jane die but he had Evolved changed over time because of his choices.
... joking aside, I legitimately enjoyed Metastasis (the shot-for-shot Colombian remake, for anyone who's not aware). I'm not saying it was good, but compared to the standard Telenovela fare, I think it stood out. It was also unintentionally hilarious (Saul BUENO!? ... get the f...)
Breaking bad came out when George bush was president and we’re still getting 20 minute analysis videos that I can listen to while driving to the job that I hate. It’s the little things that keep me going
Walt was always the same psycho, prideful kingpin we see and love(or hate) in the end, he became the person he always subconsciously wanted to be, but couldn’t due to fear and the mental blocks that held him back, what changed in him was he slowly became more fearless and broke free from limitations, he lived the life he wanted to live and enjoyed it to the very end, while others around him suffered
Some people think Walt was already that person based on his values shown in Gray Matter. Idk how much i agree. Id say he had the potential for that change .. Id also say walt changed more than Tony Soprano . Walt would never murder right? Imo he has deep-seated issues and I can see if certain elements of his personality were to be drawn out he could become this guy. I also like to point out that, as many people know, Cranston said "without Tony Soprano there would be no Walter White" I like all the little nods to The Sopranos like the long drawn-out fight that Walt and Jesse have before Jesse goes to Mexico is based on Tony's fight with a capo in "Whoever did this" Also they both have a double back pizza moment lol And theres definitely more connects. Every time I watch Breaking Bad or the clips that Mr chips to Scarface reference Vince Gill get made just feels perfect like he did exactly what he said he was going to do. With Tony it's like fat crooked gangster from New Jersey becomes more and more deplorable but actually he was always that way mostly. (I wont say Tony didn't have some massive changes but they weren't as outward and dramatic as Walters I'm sure everybody would agree) Anyway great video still watching! Hopefully everybody can like and comment and all that stuff so that you can be the blowfish.
I never connected $5K Walter White got for selling his share of Gray Matters with why he didn't want to accept $5M for his share of methlamine. Great analysis and summary.
My opinion only - but I think WE are all capable of being a hiesenberg , ( even if not meth related ) just ,some people need alot more bad to happen to become there dark shadow side ,and other ppl not as much to tip the scale ( no pun intended 😅
10:48 I don’t believe he cares about Jesse’s wellbeing’s he feels he has no control over Jesse and he doesn’t like that. He only likes Jesse due to how he can control him, he even mentioned it to Gus on their first meeting. 11:07 he moves her on her back as she had propped herself up. Therefore I believe has a direct influence in her death. If he would have never went there she may have survived.
YEEEEEEEES someone made it! explaining the reasons behind the choices! which is not the same as justifying or excusing it more people need to understand this FUCKING concept!
Will you do The Shield’s characters, starting with Shane Vendrell or Vic Mackey? I just finished this spectacular series and would love your observation on the main characters.
10:23 i dont think he believes it's positive, we can see in the bathroom scene how angry he is both at himself and fate for making him take decisions he thought were necessary, only to be shown that he will now have to live with the ramifications of what he's done
As a determinist who read Robert Sapolsky’s great book “Determined: A Science of Life Without Free Will,” Walter’s transformation resonates. People very rarely just wake up one day and will themselves to change. To the extent that people change, it’s usually because they are changed by external events.
Walt is still the one making the decisions and facing the consequences. He willed it and he had many crossroads to pick differently and he didn’t. Determinism is present as in anything in this universe, and at the same time irrelevant on human accountability.
@@kassios What's determinism? Is that not the philosophical current that everything has already been determined before your birth by factors outside your control?
@@Δ-Δ-Δ-Δ determinism is firstly an idea in physics that every event is necessitated by antecedent events and conditions together with the laws of nature. That does not make the present linear as the underlying events and conditions are chaotic and may even random. Yes, this is an upgraded re-edit of the old video that was taken down

Still gonna watch it like it's brand new. Always enjoy these deep dives no matter how many times I see em 😆
Well it is time to rewatch it a million other times then
why did it get taken down?
Even though I saw the older video I absolutely could NOT help but rewatch it. Your analysis of the Breaking Bad universe is just way too well done
Much appreciated!
@JustanObservation of course!! Your content is so amazing!!
Same. It draws you right in, even if you've already seen it.
Im very happy you reuploaded it
Always love your take. Thanks for the re-edited upload!!

This video is one of a kind
They should have called this show "Metastasis."
and the whole show should have been in spanish just for good measure
And recast with lesser talented actors.
And that is this gonna be on the murder SFX should play during every reveal

Some of this is true but he definitely did not enjoy it 100% as he did have moments of regret and he is way more complex than the explanation you gave

Walter was always heisanberg, he just never had the power. Dinner scene with his ex revealed how he really felt

For absolutely everything Walter White turns into, he never once even contemplated cheating on his wife.
Wrong, he tries to make a move on his boss Carmen who promptly rejects and fires him, and makes him look pathetic
He did lol
