Who would have thought that trumpet could steal the show at a metal concert. But anyway this song is just beautiful and I can't stop listening to it. Silje's voice shines here and backing vocals from Marjolein are great too.
Great band and a great, slightly raw, version of this song. Everyone shines so brightly, but a big shout out for Marjolein Kooijman on bass. She thunders away in the background, solid as a rock and sings some amazing harmonies with Silje, very complex, she deserves a lot of respect and credit.

Es increíble pensar que con Anneke fuera de The Gathering, la banda no sería capáz de repuntar, pero con la incorporación de Silje como vocalista, le otorga otro giro a la banda, le da su toque especial. Sin dudas es una gran cantante para una gran banda.
Diego Rodríguez Ella viene de uha Banda muy buena aunque no tan exitosa talvez como The Gathering pero tienen hay que darle respeto!
FANTASTIC PERFORMANCE.
This is a brilliant and very brave play. They are almost naked, the main voice has hardly any effects added and the guitars weren't enough to cover her in case she made any mistakes (the melody is very complicated). The second voice and the trumpet were brave and brilliant as well. Great the contrast when the guitar hits some metal chords.
I LOVE to see a band like this, which has a lot of electronic elements, doing this raw performance, and show everybody the great musicians they are, and the 25 years of honourable carrer they have behind.
What can I say? Watching this I nearly cried. As much as I love Anneke, she's nowhere near as good as she was here, but... Silje had a once in a lifetime opportunity to shine amongst the best. This is not about being popular, but being a true artist. This band is the best. Of course I'm not objective, I don't care, they are the best. No other band made me feel their music, basically, their music is like a soundtrack to my own life. Every moment when I listened to The Gathering wasn't wasted. Thanks to the uploader od this amazing, stunning, and emotional video! Thanks to The Gathering.

I grew up in the middle of the south mexican jungle and i can say this band is the soundtrack of my memories too. Different time different planet they say.
The Gathering is and always will be my favorite band and Anneke will always my favorite singer, but Silje has something to her voice that I don't see in Anneke and that's a good thing. Anneke's voice commands attention and it is unforgetable, to the point where you can't ever escape its magic. Silje's is much more subtle and has a fragility, sweetness and discreetness that is so compelling and only makes admire and long for it with time. Love them both is basically what I'm trying to say.
Fully agree and wise words. I don’t know why people always compare and can’t enjoy. We all have our preferences but good music is and always stay good music even when it is centuries old.

As much as I will always love Anneke in her days with the Gathering, but the real heart and soul of this band is and always was Rene and Frank. They wrote some of their best songs after the time with Anneke. This is one of them!
I felt in love with anneke in 1996, i was 21. Now, when i'm listening this song and Silje, i know the world can have many beautiful people. I don't want to forget the excellent bassist and singer as Marjo. Respect for trumpet...

I really appreciate both singers, Silje and Anneke not making comparison, they both are wonderful, brautiful voices in the greatest group. Pure joy.
Fortunately they've managed to keep their well known quality after anneke's departure. It's not an easy task to replace such a talented singer whose voice matched quite perfectly the band's sound.

True. It's amazed me how well the new voice fit into this band. They either did a great job looking for someone filling Anneke's huge gap, or they where extremely lucky. It's realy REALY rare that I feel this way after someone who took a band to a much higher level is replaced.
Most of the time the magic is gone, and it's to big a diffrence to put yourself over the change to still like it a lot. But in this case, this still IS the gathering to me. We will never forget Anneke, and I still like her new music as well, but to me the Gathering survived her leave, and that's a prety amazing accomplishment !!

Yes, Silje was amazing! As strange as it is, I'm glad that Anneke left, if she didn't, we wouldn't have this piece and it tops many songs with Anneke, there's something about that trumpet solo, just beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL!
