You gave some spoilers away. It’s that Amara does not get picked for the Elite “squad” to fly Valor. I’m on chapter 3 in the book, so it’s kinda spoiler just FYI.

Good catch. It was hard not to spoil some things...like she went off with her new dragon "friend"...she went away...how could I not spoil the fact she went away? Yet...she went away. I had to share that to talk about what she went through. It was so hard to talk about the book without spoiling some things, yet holding back things...yet talk about how awesome she was...sigh. It was hard to hide some things. I hope you dig her like I did!

📯Spoiler: I finished So Let Them Burn. I did not find the romantic relationships believable , no chemistry for me, but did find the character somewhat interesting but not interesting enough, unfortunately. I was not invested in the characters story. The god magic system has been done a lot and it didn’t feel fresh enough for me. However, there were moments I felt emotion when we hear about her parents crying when their family members died in the war. I did not find the young girls as warriors explained enough. The world building needed more work. Alara was my favorite, I wanted to follow her the most but did not like the idea of her falling in love with a member of the the dominant race, this happens alot in books, and it’s cliche. I wanted to know more about the dragons and the Drakes. I did love the ending with Faron running away with the bad guy. That should’ve been Faron’s story, that is interesting. The issue really started with the convoluted plot. When the Empty came into the picture it just started getting confusing; however, I did like that the egg in the town hatches. And I also loved the writing. She’s got a new dark academia book coming out and I’m preordering it!!

You and I both were looking for more from the previous war, weren't we? It's been a little while since I read the book, but I remember also wanting to feel and understand more of the girls' time as warriors. I remember often thinking to myself, "I wanna read THAT book." But then I feared how extremely YA it would have to be...yet how violent...and I was okay with quick flashbacks and references... I still remember loving Elara the best!
