- The 60th Eurovision Song Contest was held in May 2015 in the capital of Austria, Vienna, the first time Austria hosted the event since 1967. The right to host the contest came when Conchita Wurst brought home the trophy with her Rise Like A Phoenix from Copenhagen the year before. In order to mark the 60th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, Australia was invited to take part in the Grand Final for the very first time.
The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest took place in the Wiener Stadthalle. The the official Eurovision Song Contest logo was refreshed, for the first time since it was launched in 2004.
Building Bridges
The slogan for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest was Building Bridges. The theme artwork featured spheres and wave-shapes, symbolising unity as well as diversity. The colours reflected individualism and at the same time building musical bridges, the diversity of the artists, variety of songs and the diverse audience.
The Grand Final
27 countries competed in the Grand Final of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, the largest number ever. 10 qualifiers from each of the Semi-Finals, the so-called Big Five as well as hosts Austria and special guest Australia all took to the stage.

@@digitool5944 actually Germany got 24 points from the jury and 5 points from the public which, if we use the splitting system they're using in recent years, Germany would've has 29 points. 2015 is the last year that jury vote and televote were combined to give the final vote and so many countries suffered from that system that gave them 0 points.

My personal winners were 🇷🇺 Russia and 🇧🇪 Belgium (Polina Gagarina and Loïc Nottet are wonderful performers and have incredible voices) but even when I was happy for Sweden and for Eurovision for being in Stockholm next year, I didn't like the Swedish song so much and also didn't like the fact every single country voted more or less gor the Top 9 and another country from the list. I like the years, like 2014 for example, when the voting is so diverse and different. Anyway it was, as always is, a lovely Eurovision 🏳️🌈 and one of the most emotionals, at least for me.

One of the best modern Eurovision editions ever. Strong enough top ten that any of those could've been worthy of a spot in the top 5. Plus, plenty of underrated gems as well (Montenegro, Romania, Ireland, Slovenia, Germany, Hungary, Finland - yes, I stand by that - and Georgia, just to name a few).
Positively the most extraordinary opening, sheer nonstop emotion.
My second favourite contest next to the one in Moscow. So many good songs. :) Loved Italy, Russia and Estonia.

For me still the best ESC song wise. So many wonderful masterpieces and a perfect mix of ballads and bops. Any of the top 10 songs would probably have been worthy winners, and even some outside top 10 could have easily won. It was just that strong of a year. I wish we have another great year like this..
