- The Beatles Abbey Road has long been one of my favorite albums and I wanted to make something reminiscent of it. I used the Ortur Laser Master 3 to cut something from another album that I got from a second hand store for $1.00. I printed an Abbey Road label downloaded from the internet. I hope you will like this idea!

Fantastic idea Gord. It came out so well, especially with a little negative space mixed into the LP.
Glad you liked it, Ray. Thanks for watching!
What a wonderful tribute to an awesome band! I remember that first introduction of them on the Ed Sullivan show! That is when all us young folks grew our hair long and tried to look like them! Well done Gord and thanks!
Cheers Al
Rock on! 😁😁 Yes, music was certainly better at that time! Thanks for watching, Al.
Take care,
.....Gord
Very clever, Gord! I wouldn't even think of doing that but I love it! Keep the hits coming, you classic rocker, you! 😊
Phil
Actually, I prefer to be known as The Classic Rock. 😂😂😂 Glad you liked it, Phil.
…..Gord
You're just having way too much fun Gord!
Take care, Dave
Yes, Dave. Yes, I am! 😁😁
Stay safe,
.....Gord
I was thinking the same thing as I was watching.
Absolutely Brilliant!! 😍👏👏👏
I must admit I got quite excited when I saw the title of your video. What an amazing idea and it turned out beautifully!!
I love your great taste in music and projects. Bravo Bro ☺️
Glad you liked it, Gail. I guess that means we both have great taste in music! Thanks for watching, Sis! 😎😎📀📀🎵🎵
That's a good dose of creativity, Gord. I like it. Well executed.
It will feel so good to get back to your lathe. I finely have a shop day before me and am very much looking forward to it since next week has a lot of other obligations. I hope your return to turning goes very well.
Glad you liked it, Jay. Enjoy your shop day! I'm sure they are too few. Take care of yourself, my friend.
Happy turning,
.....Gord
Nice choice love the sounds
Thank you so much, Ian. Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!
Hi Gord, very cool buddy! It looks 3D too! Thanks for sharing! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you very much, Bruce. Glad you liked it, buddy. Thanks for watching!
Gord that was a groovy tribute to an amazing band! Between your CNC and now the Laser engraver you’ll never run out of things to make 😉
Take care,
Wayne
😁😃😁 Yep, I’m happy! 😂😂 Thanks for watching, Wayne!
All the best,
…..Gord
What a cool project Gord! I love the Beatles!
A Beatles fan? I knew I liked you, Heather! 😁😁🎵📀🎶📀😎😎
I hope your recovery is progressing well. Interesting use of your laser. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Thank you, Glen, the back is coming along slowly. I hope to be back in front of the lathe in a few days. At least with this new engraver, I don’t have to spend my days laying on the couch watching the idiot box. I don’t do boredom very well. I hope you are doing well, my friend. Take care of yourself.👍👍
Very Clever Gord. Being so much younger than you I had to look up The Beatles. I found a car and some darn insects.
Seem to cut nice through the vinyl. Love the shape you made.
Now I need to dig out my White Album . Oh it is sitting on a shelf right above my compute.
I have an unopened Let It Be album somewhere.
Great work my friend and keep having all that fun.
Gary
🤣😂🤣😂
To give you a little background, Gary, the Beatles were a band from Great Britain. They first appeared on the Ed Sullivan show on February 9, 1964. That was their great introduction to North America. Of course, that was probably about the same time you finished breast-feeding so I would not expect you to remember it. Leave that to old guys like me. 😂😂😂😂
An unopened Let It Be album could be a real treasure. It certainly would be in my house. Thanks for watching, buddy!
…..Gord
Ed who???
I think it is in a shelf full of old vinyl records. One of these days I will have to look for it.
A lot of those albums came in stereo and mono. Most of my Ventures albums I bought were because I did not have a stereo back then. After all was still an infant😂🤣😎
...very well done!...and very cool!!! I never had the album, but I did have the cassette...and still do...a gift from my grandfather (go figure)...surprised I didn't wear it out...😅
Glad to see you out and about...hang in there as I'm looking forward to more from you...👍
Your grandfather must’ve had good taste in music! Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!
Great idea!
Glad you like it, Dick. Thanks for watching!
Hey Gord, It's good you found a new toy to play with while you recoup from your back problems. I remember the Beatles album quite well. In fact, I have it stored away somewhere in my library of vinyl records that I collected over the years while in commercial radio back in the 1970s. Too many records to go through to find it.
Sounds like you must have quite a collection, John. My vinyl collection is something I have never been able to let go. I thought it might be something I could hand down to my kids, but they have made it clear that they are not interested in vinyl. What a shame! 😟🤨😢
Take care,
…..Gord
@@GordonRock1 Record companies would send 5-10 copies of each record to the radio station I worked for while going through school. Most of those records were Rock, Easy Listening and an occasional jazz copy. Yet I worked for a Country Western Station and could not use those records. I would guess to say I have 15,000-20,000 LPs that have never been out of the cellophane or played. And then when I went to work for a Rock Station, the opposite was the case and collected other genres. . It’s amazing how many people we never heard of made records. And I am sure there are some albums in the collection that are valuable. But I don’t know which ones are worth a lot of money. There isn’t enough time in the day or week to go through them all. They just sit up on the shelves in my office along with CDs & cassettes with my stereo equipment and Ham Radio gear. In short, I need to clear a lot of it out before I cash in my chips since my XYZ doesn’t want to deal with it. I may haul most of the vinyl out to West Tx to a friend’s record store who deals in old LPs and let him sell them on consignment. He has been after me to do this for several years. It’s time to do it while I can. My wife will breath a sigh of relief when I do it.
That came out great. Nice work Gord
Thank you, John. Much appreciated, my friend. Thanks for watching!
When the video started I assumed you were going to burn the album cover image on something. Boy was I wrong. Very creative and a great finished product. Well done buddy! I’m missing turning as well, totally relate. Still in renovation mode. Take care Gord
I’m glad I could surprise you a little bit, Lewis. Yes, it’s a real drag not being able to turn. Oh well, the back is starting to feel a little bit better, so I hope to be back to it soon. I hope you finish your renovations soon.
All the best,
…..Gord
Neat idea Gord. John
Thank you so much, John. I’m glad you like the idea. Thanks for watching!
…..Gord
Awesome
Thank you, Donald. Much appreciated, my friend.
That’s cool!
I’m glad you like it, Chris. Thanks for watching!
That is brilliant Gord and Abbey Road is one of my favourite albums.
This Laser seems to be able to cope with anything you throw at it.
Take care my freind.
Cheers, Huw
I'm happy that you like it, Huw. As I may have said, it's one of my favorite albums, as well. I often tell people "they stopped making good music in 1969". Funny, they think I'm kidding! I must admit I'm having a lot of fun with this laser engraver. There is so much you can do with it, it's amazing! Thanks for watching, Huw!
Take care,
.....Gord
What a cool idea Gord! I well remember when the Abbey Road album came out, and I love this tribute you made. At first I thought you were going to engrave the cover on a wooden plaque (which would have been really cool too!) but you went that extra step and took it to an even more creative tribute! 😀
Thank you so much, Reid. I’m glad you liked it. I can remember very clearly the first time I saw the Beatles perform on that Ed Sullivan show way back in 1964. Don’t tell anybody, I said that, OK! I usually tell people I heard about them from my grandfather. LOL! Thanks for watching! 😃😃
@@GordonRock1 Your secret is safe with me Gord! I have to admit that I remember seeing the same Ed Sullivan appearance too (I was only 5at the time but we never missed Ed Sullivan! LOL), all those teen girls going crazy was a trip! 😂🤣
5? You’re only 3 years older than me! 😂🤣😂🤣
@@GordonRock1 and neither one of us are OLD! LOL We may not be able to do things as fast as we used to but we are much wiser and know more, right? 😀😁😆🤣😂
Wiser? Uuuuh… I think I might just pass on that one. 😃😃
Great creations Gord. I am a bit of a Classic Rock Stones fan😂😂😂😂😂😂....
Keep on creating my friend and I hope the back is healing nicely
Take care both of you and stay safe and well
Cheers
Harold
Thank you very much, Harold. They certainly don't make "good" music like they did in the 60s!
Take care,
.....Gord
Cool Gord I think one of those engravers would be a great thing to have Blessings
I'm glad you liked it, Wade. I'm having a lot of fun with it, I must admit. I can imagine a lot of uses for it besides just using it as a toy. Thanks for watching!
.....Gord
Thats pretty cool Gord! You realize there was a 5th one on that cover...... the white VW "Beetle" there by George Harrison's head.....lol. sorry, I couldnt resist! 😊❤👍
Yes, I've read about that being mentioned many times. I had forgotten about it, though. Thanks for the reminder, Dave! 👍😁😎 Thanks for watching!
Brilliant Dave. I had forgotten about that
Interesting project. As I’ve mentioned in previous videos, I recently purchased one and it’s a blast. My next project is to redo some wood travel mugs on the rotary attachment. Do you have any type of ventilation? I know my shop gets a bit smoky and I have plans to install an exhaust fan to the outside. I’d be especially careful cutting the vinyl. Thanks for the video
Glad you liked it, Greg. It’s getting a little cold here to be leaving the door open to the outside for ventilation. I do have one of those smoke absorbers, which does a real good job of cutting the smoke. However, while it does cut the smoke, it definitely does not cut the smell very much. Yes, I was a little bit concerned about cutting vinyl so I did open the garage doors when I was doing that. I guess I won’t be doing that during the winter. Thanks for watching!
Stay safe gord Ian mac
Thank you very much, Ian. I really appreciate that!
Interesting, Gord. What next? Or do I really want to know?
Bill
I haven’t thought that far ahead, Bill. That would take more planning that I’m used to doing. If you figure it out before me, feel free to let me know, buddy. 😁😁 Thanks for watching, Bill.
…..Gord
That Come Together nicely.
Shoot Coca-Cola, Gord,
-- Joe
Great pun, Joe. I should have expected that from you, buddy! LOL! Thanks for watching!
.....Gord
You forgot the 5th beetle. The white one in the background. :)😂
Yes, I did, Randall. Now I feel bad about it, too. LOL! Thanks for watching, Randall.
