    Saw your comment at DP Review. Amazing footage and great editing & choice of music!!! The footage with the wavebreaker in the back starting at 1:23 feels epic!

      Thanks JHirse, appreciate it! Was very impressed with the A6700 image quality and of course 4K 50P is really nice. Love shooting crazy long lens setups, even though it means carrying a heavy tripod :) Also love the harbour wall / blocks in the background , gives it this big scale. And was lucky there where a few bigger wave sets. So thank you for the comment, also good to know DP Review finally approved my comment after 3 days 🤓

      @@ScheveningenSurf The quality of the video surely justifies the effort! I'm planning to get an a6700 once the price goes down a little bit. I was disappointed about the photo upgrades, but in terms of video it seems to be a huge jump compared to the a6400 I currently have. I guess I want to add a tele zoom to the order now😂

      @@jhirse3547 Not sure it is such a huge jump from the A6400, to be honest I did shoot a few videos on this channel with the A6400 and it will be hard to spot the difference. Ok the A6400 was shot in HD 100FPS instead of 4K, but upscaled they look similar. I do a bit of color correcting and add Film Convert to the edit, this improves the green tint from Sony camera's a lot. Here is one shot with the A6400: ua-cam.com/video/DW266gH89fo/v-deo.html
      Shot in a storm, with the same long lens, but on both cases I use a big tripod. The sensor in the A6700 is definately a lot better, but is it 1700 euro better for you is the big question :) It is not as efficient with batteries as the A6400, not so nice and compact you put it in your coat pocket and I actually like their real LCD implementation over the stupid flippy screen.
      Just so you know :) Maybe I'll write this all down with a proper comparison.

      @@ScheveningenSurf thank you very much for your perspective on both cameras, I appreciate it! It's a tough decision, but my hopes are to improve handheld video and photos especially of my 2yo running around & playing. a6400 handheld footage really isn't that good because of the jitter. How's your perspective on the video stabilisation when shooting handheld (like with 50mm or so)? BTW the other video is absolutely stunning, too!

      @@jhirse3547 Thanks, you are very welcome, always happy to share because these are expensive choices. The a6400 is a very capable camera. Jitter and shake will mostly be reduced by a lens with good image stabilisation, don't expect too much from the a6700, the IBIS is not magic and I have notices it does not correct micro jitters as well as the A7SIII for instance. Especially with a 50mm you are asking for trouble, I don't think there are any that have image stabilisation. Subject detection and higher ISO might save you there photography wise. For video I would say a handy zoom with IS? But it's easy for to say, I have no idea what budget you are thinking. Maybe check lenses? A 50mm is a tele on these camera's so unless you can shoot 1/300sec + you might be more successful with a 35mm or even wider. It really depends on how much of a background blur lover you are I guess! If you get the right shot with a 50mm it is going to be gorgeous, so get a bigger memory card and shoot high+ haha?? Hope this is somewhat useful, and good luck capturing shots that wil become family classics in years to come!

    Which lens are you using?

    • @ScheveningenSurf
      @ScheveningenSurf  11 місяців тому

      The 200-600mm, most shots will be at 600mm + 1.4 clear image zoom + the 1.5 crop from the A6700 Sony APS-C camera of course.

      So you are shooting with a focal length of 1260mm?

      @@lb1715 Yes exactly, I was really surprised how well it did considering the crazy focal length. (bit late, for some reason I get no new comment notifications)
