Wow I live in Kazakhstan that is one of the former USSR countries
When I saw this video in my recommendations, I expected to hear only Russian songs
Cause you know everyone now seems to think that culture of USSR is only Russian culture and they often neglect the fact that it consisted of 15 to 16 counties with their own culture
I was pleasantly surprised when I heard the first song of this playlist (I even subscribed to your channel)
    Thank a lot 👏👏👏
(Maybe one day when you create another USSR playlist you might add a Kazakh song too :))

İlk şarkı tanıdık geldiyse haklısınız çünkü şarkı Azerice. Liriklerini de alta bırakayım:
    Aman, yar!
    [Giriş]
    A-aman a-aman ya-ar
    Ca-anım a-aman ya-ar
    A-aman a-aman ya-ar
    Ca-anım a-aman ya-ar

    [1-ci bənd]
    Sən çalan kamanam mən,
    Dərdinə qalanam mən.
    Qaynar baxışlarından
    Od tutub yananam mən.

    [Nəqarət]
    Aman-aman yar, canım aman yar!
    Məni nahaqdan oda salan yar!

    [2-ci bənd]
    Olmasın dünya sənsiz,
    Yel sənsiz, dərya sənsiz.
    Sənsiz Günəş qəribdir,
    Ulduzlar tənha sənsiz.

    [Nəqarət]
    Aman-aman yar, canım aman yar!
    Məni nahaqdan oda salan yar!

    Aman aman yar!
    Məni oda salan yar!
    Canım ya-ar!

    [3-cü bənd]
    Səni gördüm çəməndə,
    Güllər şehdə çiməndə,
    Vüsalını qovurdum,
    Hicran düşdü kəməndə.

    [Nəqarət]

Jonathan Fox Communist regimes slaughtered more people during peace time than all wars and conflicts in the 20th century. Add to that the pointless suffering of hundreds of millions of people.
No, communism was no more groovy than nazism (and they had cooler uniforms) but the people of the East Bloc were resilient and resourceful, which I admire them for.

Some additional recommendations that could make up a very decent follow-up, if the vinyls are available.
Soviet-era Azerbaijani music was very diverse and well developed. Muslim Magomayev was the best known performer, a true megastar, he sung mainly classical and orchestra pop, but also some folk-influenced music.
For some Central Asian grooves, try the bands Yalla and Gunesh. For East Slavic prog-rock and funk, Pesnyary and Ariel. Georgia was famous through its multi-instrumental band Orera.
