From Fred Allen: "Do you think aggressiveness is out of place in a midget?" ~ What?! Yeah, okay, I get it; this "is" the 1950s, but this comment is neither a pleasant one to hear, nor is it said in a "usual" or even "clear" context--appropriate or not. I just don't think Fred Allen is always that funny. Actually, Arlene Francis and, and certainly Victor Borge, are much funnier than Fred Allen, in my opinion.
Yeah but not hired for that, not sure how eccentric they wanted, but definitively extroverted. I did not get....
And Bennett Cerf? He may be considered a humorist on some level, but I find him rude, impatient and generally annoying. Just because you're an "intellect" (on some other level), and have been involved in the founding of a major book publishing firm, this doesn't excuse you from maintaining/engaging in appropriate public behaviors and attitudes! And they don't guarantee that you are anywhere near a perfect--or even refined--person.
The 70's version ain't got nothing on this version where you can actually learn something, the other one was...... Fun to look at plus Arlene ❤ but you can't learn anything if anything very little

Downloading ads in an over 70-year show is absurd. Ads were just as annoying then as they are nowadays, the fact that there were fewer of them in the programs doesn't make them less annoying. So, no, I will not be using BUZZ to watch the shows.
I enjoy seeing the 70 year old adds.
