  • In this series, we will look at what it truly means to take Elohim's Name in vain, and just how far reaching this concept is in our faith journey and walk.
Is the word "take" an accurate translation of the Hebrew word נָשָׂא (nasa), the word translated as "take"? How does usage of this word throughout the Scripture give us a much broader and deeper understanding of what it means to take Elohim's Name in vain? How does taking His Name in vain factor into our prayer life? How does sinning with a high hand and not heeding wise counsel and reproof play into this topic? How is swearing oaths related to the Hebrew word נָשָׂא (nasa)? And how does this word help us understand the function of a prophet and those whom Elohim would trust?
We hope this teaching is a blessing to you.

    Dearest Michael,
Perhaps you have oversimplified prayer with a “once and done” approach? Consider the difference between the prayers of Abraham and Lot in Bereshith 18 and 19:
Abraham asked multiple times, interceding for others, bargaining for the lives of the righteous of Sedom, listening to what Elohim was about and appealing to His character.
Lot asked only once, Tso’ar was spared, and it’s the likely origin of the wine used by his daughters to get him drunk and resulting in two nations emerging that would be a thorn in the side to the people of God.

Perhaps then it is not right for the " babes on milk" to wear tzitzits as they might unknowingly bring Yah's name in vain. The first thing my wife and I did was to wear tassles. In fact, I dare say we are the only ones wearing them in our town here in South Africa. There are a few people professing to " walk the path" as they like to put it but I have not seen one wear tassles. Maybe they are right as it should only be worn by the spiritually mature.
    Ps.
My name is Pieter but unfortunatly my wife's name appears.

Ek sou argue dat juis die mense wat "babes on milk" is moet tzitzits dra - tzitzits is om jou te herhinder van die Torah. Maar net my sienining, seker iemand meer geleerd sal beter kan antwoord

      @@aleph-tav shalom broer/ sister.
Nee jy is heeltemal reg. Dit is die eerste ding wat suigelinge behoort te doen want sodra n mens oor daai eerste " skaamte oor die dra van tzitzis" kom, dan is mens op pad.
Apologies to our english speaking brothers and sisters.
I was saying that when " suckling babes" get over the initial " embarrassment" of wearing the tzitzis, they are on the way therefore it is a good thing for them to wear.
I presume what brother Micheal is conveying is that one must take head that because we wear it, we need to be extra carefull not to let Yah down.
aleph-tav, is u in SA. Dit is nogal swaar om alleen sonder leiding die pad te stap soos hulle dit hier noem. Ek wonder hoeveel broers en susters leer van die wonderlike felliwship af. It is truly the most wonderful teachings from the most wonderful teacher. We live by these teachings.
We could really do with being in contact with the group as walking on our own, causes us to stumble along.
