Florence Welch has a great voice. She is classically trained singer and can belt like anything. Her live concerts are legendary.

The director of the movie said he knew from the start he wanted to use this song when at the end of the movie they transitioned from 90s to 2000s music. He was just a fan. There is also a video of Florence moved to tears as she watches the movie and her song comes on.
The movie has a music director who , if the director wants to find existing music for the film, will search for songs.
Florence is very popular in the UK. This and many other songs of hers were used in adverts and movie trailers. This one was all over the place when it was released as a single. You couldn't get away from it. And the Guardians movies are known for their excellent soundtracks. I haven't seen the third one yet but now i want to as soon as i can. Other feel good songs :- Alpenglow by Nightwish, Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros.

This was one of Florences early songs and one of the songs that broke the band into the public consciousness from which point she has gone from strength to strength to the point where she now sells out stadiums and headlines major festivals. Through it all she has remained the same slightly shy and understated person and continues to produce the most amazing music. Maybe she is not as big in the states where the likes of Beyoncé and Taylor Swift hold sway over female fronted music with their flash and slightly brash personas but in the UK and Europe Florence and the Machine are massive. There are too many banging songs across her 5 albums to list here but frankly you could pick anything from the list that comes up on YT from a Florence and Machine search and be fine for a great reaction.
2 more feel good florence songs are Shake it out from her 2nd album and Free from the latest one. They are an awesome band that have pretty much sound-tracked my life since school and are still going strong today 😊
F+TM are pretty popular. They aren't as popular in the US as they are in the UK. I saw them live in Charlotte and it was a fantastic show. If you are looking for uplifting Florence, I would suggest How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. It's the title track from their 3rd album 🙂

Stumbled upon yr reaction randomly. I can add a few nuggets of info for ya-
- This was released as a single in the UK and then in the US in 2010, and got great airplay here in the States and launched F+M's trajectory.
- A lot of her music has that driving beat that makes you wanna dance. Check out the songs that other respondents mentioned. She has a great voice and she knows how to use it.
- There's a video of her singing this song to a cancer patient in the hospital that will break your heart. It's beautiful, bring tissues.
- James Gunn, the writer and director of all three Guardians movies selected every single song throughout the trilogy. He loves pop music and being able to incorporate it into his films. The music is almost always diogenic, which in movie terms means that we're hearing the music that the characters are actually listening to in their narrative - so its not simply a soundtrack that the audience enjoys. So when this song plays at the end of Guardians 3, its Rocket Raccoon playing it on the Zune that Quill gave him, and is pumped into the speakers of Knowhere and that's why everyone is dancing- they're hearing it just like we are. That gives the viewers a more immersive experience. Just like Quill listening to "Come And Get Your Love" in the very first scene in Guardians 1. We're hearing their soundtrack to their lives right along with them. And, as you prob saw, Guardians 3 ended with CAGYL in the mid credit scene (with the new Guardians line-up) to bring the trilogy full-circle.
- This is a great song. I really love watching Drax dance to it, especially after he previously said that only idiots dance... that's kind of been a running joke with him in all three movies.
