Most rabbit experts will tell you that cage is a BAD idea. He doesn't have enough room to do much of anything other then eat and lay down. Rabbits need lots of room to stand and move around, or he can develop major join issues, obesity, and other health problems. I know you let him out to play but that's not really enough. He needs to be able to move well at ALL times not just during playtime. Most owners get rabbits thinking they are a low maintenance pet but they are not. They are indeed HIGH maintenance. Also be sure to get a list of things he can and cant eat. There are veggies that can hurt his tummy.
Twisted Wytch a real rabbit educator will tell you that each rabbits enclosure space should be considered based on the rabbit. A great resource is The House Rabbit Society, there minimum standards are "one guideline to go by is at least 8 square feet of enclosure space combined with at least at least 24 square feet of exercise space, for 1-2 rabbits, in which the rabbit(s) can run and play at least 5 hours per day." You should select a cage size based on the size of exercise space & lifestyle. Your rabbit needs a good enclosure & exercise time. You don’t have to free roam to have a happy pet.
Tiffany’s Bunny Gang YES! I love the house rabbit society
This is soooo true!!!
@@TiffanysBunnyGang use but the cage this girl has is way to small to play
@@jaynahub8287 that’s why I gave information & resources on how to select a cage that is a good size for a bunny. Also as I commented before when you first bring a bunny home it’s good to start them in a smaller space so they don’t get stressed and increase their housing after an adjustment & litter training period.
You should buy a play pen instead of a cage
🤦♀️
No it's to small
Yeah
Sasa Florival good idea
Yeah
Just wanted to give my take based on facts and research regarding some of the comments here.
1. When you first bring a bunny home you should start them in a smaller enclosure so they don’t get stressed.
2. After an adjustment period of about a week. according to the House Rabbit Society, "one guideline to go by is at least 8 square feet of enclosure space combined with at least at least 24 square feet of exercise space, for 1-2 rabbits, in which the rabbit(s) can run and play at least 5 hours per day." You should select a cage size based on the size of exercise space & lifestyle.
3. Spinach is high in oxalic acid but an ok leafy green & nutritious. It should be be fed in smaller quantities than other greens but it is NOT unsafe to feed spinach to you rabbit.
It is obvious that she has done research & will make improvements as she grows with the bunny & learns his personality. 🐰❤️
I watch lennon the bunny, too. I want to get 2 bunnies in a few months and want to let them live free in my flat. Animals in generell don't belong in cages and i like it when people take really good care for their pets. Parrot post (she first used to have 3 cockatiels) and now she also has 3 bunnies, so it's a full house 😄, is really worth watching it. Or Alex the honking bird, or pipkin the rabbit, so many people now really show on youtube how to take good care of animals, and that they are not fun toys like lots of other youtube videos show. Hope the message of those youtubers will spread around the world and make a change for so many pets that are sadly more like toys for them, than that they are livings.
Try maybe a dog exercise pen you can find them on amazon for around 35 pound and theyre a great size and can be turned into any size and give a rabbit more room
I don’t mean to sound bossy but his litter box need more hay, other than that Lumos is so cute! I love him!
Spinach isn’t the greatest for them, don’t feed him too much! I suggest buying a box of spring mix, usually lasts about 1 week for my rabbit. :) they need a large pile of fresh greens daily! Romaine is also a fantastic source of veggies
*OMG HE IS SO ADORABLE I JUST WANT TO SQUEEZE HIM* 😍
Ye i watched all of lennons channel and 101 some videos. Its great info
Cute rabbits ♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️
I named my owl doll from universal studios lumos because it's the light of my life
He looks like my bun bun Peter but with much darker brown spots! So cute, rabbits make amazing pets especially when you gain their trust! My bun loves to cuddle and spend time with me.✨🐰✨
Parents: bunny your adopted
Bunny: impossible I'm not adopted you liar
That is a VERY small enclosure! I recommend free range and if you are unable to do that just extend his enclosure and let him out whenever you can ;)))))))
I'M IN LOVE OH MY GOODNESS
Veggies I recommend: kale, romaine lettuce, carrots. Also a lil banana and apple isn’t bad but not too much! Only a slice of apple and a quarter of banana! And not often! High in sugars.
Only a little bit of carrot because of the high sugar content.
Omg beautiful bunny. Bunny's are so special. Mine has seizures but he is larger than life despite his illness new bunny friend love Binky bunny
The fact she gave her address away 😂😂
So adorable
I agree I think you should free range your bunny plus that hay rack is sooo incredibly small and at the beginning you put less hay in his litter box sorry to break it to you but like rabbits need a lot of hay like 80% of there diet has to be hay and the amount of hay you had for lumos was way too less I do recommend you watch 101 rabbits or you go and watch lennon the bunny cause they are good channels that can help you
Hey I have been looking at a rabbit from Gainesville rabbit rescue!!!
OMG THAT BUNNY IS SO CUTE!!!!!!!
Ok so not trying to be rude but there are a lot of things wrong with this situation. First the cage is way to small and you should free roam. Second spinach should not be the main veggie you feed Lumos and third you need to put way more hay in that litter box and the hay feeder is not going to do anything because the slits are to small. I know you said at the end to check out Lennon The Bunny which. Is a great channel but with the care you r giving your rabbit I think someone should suggest that channel to YOU. No hate at all I am just a really big bunny person so I wish you and Lumos the best of luck have a great day!
Also your cage is fine! As long as you spend a good enough time in the day with him out of it (like 2-3 hours) outside or inside the house roaming
Volta Fx_ thank you, someone that actually knows proper care! 👍🏻❤️😁
adorable
I got a bunny last year and I love him so MUCH! *He's in a lot of my videos!*
Like the hay in the bin, the hay rack holder is okay as long as he has enough hay in his box ❤️
I LOVE BUNNIES!
so cute
I wouldn't recommend a cage. I would recommend free roaming! If you aren't able to do that try a playpen, its a much better option!
Cutie 🥰.
Cute. I am thinking about getting a rabbit this year
Let him free roam around ur house!!!!!! #bunnyfreeroam ! Also watch Lennon the bunny
Hope that cage is kept open so he feels free to hop about :) he's a gorgeous little man
I honestly that he was my bunny like she is a lot younger but like same color. On the head looks like my bunny it’s nuts my bunny is named Willow. ❤️🐰😁. I am happy you got a bunny 🐰
Patrick the Rabbit is a YT channel I recommend
I recommend watching Lennon the bunny very helpful she tells you what you are doing wrong and right and how to better improve
Best of luck with your new buns!!!!! ❤️🐇🐰
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO DID RESEARCH BEFORE GETTING A BUNNY I have seen so many videos of people getting bunnies without research *one thing make his cage a bit bigger about 4 ft by 2 ft would be great and at least 4 hours of free time
I recommend watching Lennon bc well your cage is not right
"i have been wanting a pet like not-a-fish" hahahaha
How to pick up a bunny. Dominant hand under the belly, other hand under the bum. Lift him up and hold his feet against you. Never ever let them go upside down or held like a baby! It can put them into shock!
U should get a bowl for water and food cuz it would feed him better
You should put more hay bc they need A lot
Watching Lennon the bunny helped me so much with hacks and so much more go check her out
get one bunny too..
Wow crazy I was just youtubeing adopting a rabbit and I clicked your video and I already watch you lol
NO SPINACH!! Its on the list of what veggies NOT to feel them.
Wall E. Coyote that is incorrect info, see the house rabbit society for a correct rabbit diet & food list. Spinach is healthy and nutritious for rabbits but should be limited in quantity due to the high calcium and oxalic acid. Some spinach is good & recommended in a balanced bunny diet.
Aw I have a bunny 🐰 just like Lomos
Lumos
Rowan is the name of my brother! 😱😱😱
That looks exactly like my bunny I almost got...where did you get him?
I think he is a rex mixed with American
Congrats! I'm thinking about getting a bunnie soon too
He has a cubed face like if he were a lop (I’m not sure)
Oh. My. Gosh. That hay rack is way too tiny. First of all it will not hold the amount of hay it will eat in a day and the bars are not far enough apart for it to pick out its hay. That cage is way too tiny also. The recommend cage minimum is 12 square feet. I hope you upgrade soon.
Ooof. I hope you've learned that cages are cruel since making this video!
He is really cure
I hope you got him a bigger pen and hay rack
I want a bunny like that I would name him/her oreo
Ron Strangland I have the same bunny as her and his name is oreo 😂😂😂
I have an English spot rabbit named Oreo
lmao i have a holland lop and his name is oreo as well😋💯
are you gonna free roam him?
His head and body remind me of mine, I think he's a lionhead mix 🤔
And I would recomend not using a hey rack at all as they don't take enough hay and it's not easy for bunnies to pick it
Ilona G you can use one they just need to have HUGE openings so it’s very easy for them to get it

Try watching lennon the bunny channel they have a alot of good tips
Nice cage need to be a little bigger
It would be better to just give him hay not in the box with hay so it's better to just give him hay that is a good tip how to care for a bunny so give him hay normaly and he is such a cute bunny 🐰🐇
I have the same bunny
My bunny named chubby died the last year (2017) ☹️
How old was he
Whats wrong with fish ? 🤔
I'm getting a bunny soon! and its like 1 month old !
I REALLY WANT A BUNNY BUT IM NOT ALLOWED AND IVE TRIED CONVINCING MY PARENTS FOR A YEAR STRAIGHT AND IVE DONE ALL MY RESEARCH AND IM STILL NOT ALLOWED :(

That hay rack is WAY to tiny and bigger cage
I got a rabbit called jesy😂😂
He’s gorgeous:))))))())(
Do a little more research with the cage
oh my gosh that cage im cringing aahhhhhh!!! please change the cage way to small>
Your bunny is so cute👍🏻😻😽🙀😘😍😄😀😊😌😚 I have three bunnies My lop bunny is named Flopsy because her ears are floppy she's a girl the other girl bunny her name is toast and my male rabbit is named cinnamon😊👌🏻👍🏻🐰🐰

Rose Atkins true
• C H A R L I E • who are you even talking to
YEAH IKR
I'm leaving this comment because I haven't seen your other videos, but it doesn't seem like you've made an update, so I have no clue if you've made adjustments or not. He needs a much bigger enclosure! Bunnies need tons of room, and it's not up to me to decide that free roaming is best for you, but if you can I'd highly recommend it. If you can't then make sure to build him a much bigger space and let him out for play time as much as you possibly can. Bunnies need several hours of play time outside of their enclosure every day! He also needs unlimited hay, and lots of veggies! I didn't see a water bottle in your cage which is good! The resources you mentioned are all great, I'm just surprised that you didn't seem to know some of these things, especially since they're so important to your bunnies health and well-being. In the end taking care of an animal takes trial and error, and I hope that this helped. Good Luck!
Hey! Your new baby is BEAUTIFUL. I adopted a bunny last year and learned so much through Facebook groups , I definitely recommend joining some so you can learn tips on how to take care of Lumos from other people's experience. A few key things, bunnies should have a plethora of hay 24/7 , they need to constantly eat so if you ever notice him refusing to eat, thats a warning sign. I dont want to scare you but thats crucial to know. So what you have is good, but you might have to refill the hay several times a day. I literally have tubs all around my apartment so my bunny Oreo has plenty. Also cages can be fine but bunnies need lots of room to grow and thrive so if you can you should consider eventually making Lumos cage free once he knows his litter box area and everything. I know thats not always a possibility but he will at least need lots of time out of his cage to run and play. My relationship with my bun is so strong and amazing ever since i got rid of the cage. Bunnies are such fun amazing pets and they each have such strong personalities so I cant wait to see Lumos’ life with you :)
Thank you so much for writing this all out! I actually do plan to have Lumos cage free once he gets a bit older and learns to not get into too much trouble haha :)
Jess Medley yes definitely they can be quite mischievous haha but so precious! Good luck and have fun with him :)
Jess Medley yes, cage free is great but it’s a process. In my opinion it is a good starter pen for when a bunny first comes home, especially a rescue. It seems to be over the 8sq.ft. minimum recommendation from the house bunny society. As with most pet & bunny owners I am sure there will be many improvements & adjustments over time as u get to know ur bunny. He is adorable. Thanks for Sharing the bunny love! BTW, I live in the Tampa Bay Area.
How much is it to adopt or rescue a bunny
One of my rabbits is called Oreo
I'm personaly not a fan of keeping rabbits in cages since they get stressed more easily but as long as he gets to come out and run around and stuff for at least four or five hours a day and spend time with you, it should be all good.
Congrats by the way! rabbits are an underappreciated pet and the third most abandoned pet next to cats and dogs. especially around Easter and Christmas. since so many people buy them on impulse and don't realize how high maintennance they are. they are sensitive to the weather and predators outdoors. which is why I don't like the idea of keeping a rabbit outdoor in a hutch without proper shade or shelter, and proper protection. But its okay and I'm happy to see how good you're doing.
I keep my bunnies outside in a hutch. My family forces me to, even though we have a hole room that was a garage used for pets. I love them too much to rehouse them so it tears me apart every day cause they don't get the life they deserve. I just wish once my family would listen to me.
Just cute videos Of my pets, no strings sorry, that’s always a hard situation.
I feel like a large dog ex pen would be good or those c&c diy things would be good has long if they can be outside of it for at least 2-5 hours a day
i dont need ur opinion
i agree with u but stop lying, they don’t get stressed easily it depends on the type of rabbit,
Bunnies are majestic fluff balls
Rose Mansfield do you get sick of bunnies or no
Your icon is majestic
he is SO CUTE but you should get a much bigger cage soon like a dog play pen and LOTS more hay in his litter box
that cage is big enough.
OMG when i heard the spongebob musical I squealed😂 Ive been so obsessed with it lately!
It is sooo good!!
Am I the only one who’s heart melts when rabbits clean themselves
Lumos MAXIMA😍😍😍😍😍
Ohmygoodness he is so cuteee i'm melting and my heart can't manage the adorableness😍😍❤❤
I dont recommend feeding your rabbit spinach its not the best for them
Kim Alicandro Jordan only 1 cup a day.
Kim Alicandro Jordan that is incorrect information, spinach is healthy and nutritious for rabbits. It is high in calcium & oxalic acid so it should not be a main staple but it is an ok limited part of the diet.
Tiffany’s Bunny Gang then how much like 1/4 of a cup??
My vet said it’s fine tbh
Awe u got him from a rescue ❤️ I’m so glad I always see people buying rabbits from stores and not having (proper) things for them. It’s good to see u having all the things they need ! He is extremely adorable!
I just got one from a rescue today!
Note: the hay should be filled up to the top but that much is also really good!
Do research before getting a animal that cage is way to small
Get a big play pen. I really recommend it and always let them have play time and let them out so they can explore! Also, I recommend watching Lennon the bunny! My sister has a bunny named Peanut and she has a huge pen with a water bowl and a food bowl. Always give them veggies daily and sometimes for a reward give them a treat! Make sure to not over feed the bunny and give it a good balanced diet. It should have access to food and water at all times. The bunny should also have some toys and a litter box that isn’t too small. Never use a crate it is not good
I love rabbits. I have a rescued female rabbit called Angel. Her family were attacked by a nasty cat and poor Angel became an orphan and most of her siblings died too. My friend who is a breeder was called up and rescued the surviving bunnies. I visited her just after she was rescued. I gave her and her siblings hugs and prayers. I met Angel when she was only three weeks old. I visited her nearly every day for a week, I think I just missed one day. I adopted her when she was four weeks old. Angel and I have bonded. She loves me. She is nearly a year and a half . Her birthday is January the 14th. I love her so very much. Cute rabbit. He is handsome. I am buying her a male companion in a couple weeks time. I am calling him Jefrin
Me to if you want to learn more about rabbit than I recommend you to watch Lennon the bunny it is a Chanel about a how to take care of you bunny but I love your new rabbit he or she is so cute🌈🥰🤩😘😘😘😘😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰🥳🤩
I am getting a bunny in 2-4 months and im so exited i have been re searching for like 6 months now and im gonna spend the rest of these months getting anything i have missed ! :)
all bunny`s do not like being picked up !get them at birth and handle them or it seem`s too late i got my bunny at 10 weeks - still no pick me up and love under my bed also = now free ranging with the chickens - much better !
i suggest that you get a bigger cage, a different hay rack (large hay bag) if you can't get a bigger cage i think you should start free roaming. spinich is not the best for rabbits, i suggest romaine lettouce and kale. thats the best opions! :)
Hi I’m adopting a rabbit on January 9th and I would recommend getting an expen for your rabbit. Ps. your rabbit is adorable
He is so cute, and I cared for my rabbit the same way when i got my bunny, but i have some tips that you should be doing: get him a MUCH bigger hay rack, move the litter box, GET HIM WATER, give him a cup of leafy greens per 2 pounds, and a bigger hiding hole. Thanks!
Do you still have lumos? I can't see anymore videos of him and there's no more pictures uploaded on Instagram for almost 4 years
