Some of mine are thirsty some not so much. It's the sound and tolerances for me. It's like a musical instrument, you can feel and hear when it's out of tune.
I personally oil mine 1-2 times a day morning and evening but not too much because i dont want it leaking, i also practice 2h a day and probably casually another hour
I oil mine based pretty much completely off sound, the pitch gets higher when it's dry so when I start hearing some ringing I oil it. I also work a pretty dusty job and sometimes I notice dirt building up, I use s toothbrush to clean it out and I'll replace the oil then too but realy I try to clean and oil it once a day

TL:DR - You should, maybe, like.... oil your balisong....sometimes...whatever.
