With the glass roof in the back in the summer it’s like an oven so the air con goes on full pelt with the lights on and all the other electrics running of it by the time you get to the bottom of your street you already have to start looking for a charge point
12:00 “we’re not going to me minicab cheap” right now (Jan 2022) mini cabs in Liverpool are cheaper then black cabs during peak times. That’s all weakens and between 3-8 on weekdays
Nice review. SuperBulldog03 it's not based on a van. Geely, who own Volvo have developed a nice series PHEV platform which hopefully will spawn many variants. The taxi and van are just the first two.
If tesla have got 200 mile ranges electric only thats the way a taxi should be .A battery under the driver seat will not cut it .It needs to have no engine at all and bigger powerful batteries just use the whole taxi floor .
what's the cost benefit analysis for a driver investing in this expensive equipment when authorities can flood a the market with an almost deregulated supply of minicabs........and change policy during the lifecycle of the equipment thereby making the investment redundant.
Over priced, petrol powered taxi. That is always on loan, never owned. And it’s already old technology. Most hours during the day, do not produce enough money to make a comfortable living anymore. After 5yrs, ask any LEVC driver, if they are prepared to pay the near on £20k bubble, or restart on a more expensive 5yr plan. Being positive about the vehicle isn’t a bad thing. But the nature of the trade has changed dramatically. Fuel savings are not that great, when insurance(extra), meter, tyres and other ex’s are added and put against a rental cost.
A friend of mine purchased one this week (nov 2021) Has had it one day and the intercom has stoped working ....seventy grand for a load of rubbish ...no thanks
Yes they are expensive. “BUT”, when you count the price of fuel you will save as well as service it will level out. And when you have finished the payments you save even more.
Not really an honest review, more of a personal opinion. As for the "Looks like a Bentley", I'm not sure Bentley would agree, especially as that is derived from a Van, soon to be on sale. Vehicle is also way too expensive. Well made vid though but I won't rush out and get one this week. Cheers. Be lucky

Inductive charging AKA wireless charging at the taxi rank and an App to call on would be great.

When you say the first two i think the taxi is the prototype and the free wifi is uploading all the data about the cab at the end of every day.

I don’t understand why they haven’t put a 100kwh battery into it?
Nice review. Have taken one for a test drive and it is a dream to drive it.
I am an old cabbie. There are not enough charging points in London.
The motor creates a resistance and collects energy. Much less brake wear.

Does it go South of the river though?
Unless you have your passport mark lol 😂
excellent review ty
Costs more than a house meaning the rent costs are more than the fuel savings making the whole thing pointless
Thanks for that. 👍
These things are worth about 35-40 g not a lottery win

The horrific cost makes this vehicle an unwise investment.
So electric but not really electric as it has an petrol engine as well

the van is based off this, this was designed first then the van and now the private hire version
Vito
Should have got in bed with a company like tesler needs at least 150 -180 miles on a single charge
Looks like a bently...yeh a fake one
Keep seeing them on the back of break down trucks ...not a good advert for this vehicle
Only butterboys and muppets need apply.
Not fit for purpose.
