Excellent flying, wish I was ready to practice this.. I’ll have to check out your other videos and work my way up!

As usual a great explanation, I'm not sure how I learned them, but recently realized I much prefer right to left over left to right, always left piro...of course 😂

Very interesting manoeuvre and a very good breakdown of it, although I probably won't be learning this for a little while :). Hope to see you at Full-Pitch!

Piro loops are much much easier if you do them inline (so the heli is always directly in front of you). However, do not do them so that the heli is coming down towards you (unless you are Alan Szabo Jr).
When you do them this way, it is easier to see that the piroflip is just a zero radius piro loop. If you already know how to piroflip, then you already know how to do the piro loop, and vice-versa

Hi, could you show the movement of the strikes? It would be easier to understand some parts of the maneuvers. Congratulations on the video.

Thanks. I don't think the stick movements are helpful for this maneuver, so I left them out. It can help knowing them in some cases, but for this one I think there are no shortcuts and the pilot is better off just flying what they see.

How important is setting/adjusting the CG of the heli when working through these maneuvers? I have a nose heavy 550X that absolutely will not do Piro funnels, looks like a wounded duck. It just dawned on my I never setup CG on the heli ever.

It makes a noticeable difference at almost any level. I was literally just out flying with cameraman Rob, and he added weight to the front to fix his tail heavy helicopter, and said it immediately made the banked turns so much better.

@@rchelicopter Starting from scratch, flying on a simulator 14 hours/week, how long would you expect it to take someone to be at a high level?

Depends completely on the person, how they structure their sessions, guidance being received, age, etc.
Take something like piro loops, a highlevel set manouevre. How long would it take you to do it for real if starting from scratch?

Fair enough. I have been working through your proficiency program videos and some others. I am using the neXt simulator. I’ve found a couple videos on setup to make it as close to real life as possible. I’ve watched your video on over speed with simulators seems neXt is the worst. Should I switch to a different sim?
