It’s no accident that they had the matriarch conversation before she asked him. Sometimes you have to do things you hate for the sake of family. If it was up to Carly, her Jason and their kids would be in a protective bubble where no harm would come to them but that’s not how the world works
Let's be clear Carly does what is best for her asking Jason to go into a danger zone was clearly selfish she knew he would say yes .As far as his family he doesn't even mention them or really care in my opinion out of sight out of mind .When this all goes down with Sam he prob won't even be there for Danny .Dante and even Drew when he was with Sam were more Father's to Danny then Jason ever has been

Asking him to find her cousin to save her other cousin’s life is the opposite of selfish. She doesn’t want to live in a world without Jason but knows he’s the right person for the job. Jason being estranged from his family isn’t on Carly.

@@joannreader3260Scout isn’t Jason’s child. Jason does have family besides Carly but he barely has relationships with them. Some due to the fact that they refuse to accept who he is and his son’s due to the fact that for most of their lives he was either presumed dead or their mother’s didn’t think he should be a father if he wasn’t sleeping with them. Jason is the adult in that relationship and should work to build better bonds with his sons but others share responsibility as well and some of it was out of his control. Non of that is Carly’s fault tho.
