You don't see self loader mule trains very often. Very cool!
Snow runner anyone? lol awesome rig setup
That's pretty cool. He must have some kind of special setup for his trailer scales to work without it being hooked to the truck. Those small cranes are surprising what they will do...
He’s got a plug in under the cab and a scale wire extension cord to plug in
That squirrel running around while the guy is loading is living dangerously
haha. yes surprised it didnt get crushed.
nice rig that would work good back east too ! great vid dano !!!!
Took the words from my mouth...wade would call this the super bird
I'm running a similar hook truck in BC just wondering about your set up for short logs, I like it, be handy to have a trailer like that
Love that set up
Thank You for a video, very interesting setup. Do You know why is the crane mounted behind the cab, not on the back like we have in Europe? That way crane could be removable and could load trailer without unhooking. Do You know what is empty weight of trailer?
Thanks for watching and commenting. not sure why that is set up this way ill ask the owner.
There are a couple of reasons, here in the US the weight configurations play into it. Also, if the truck is a change over from short logs to long logs, you cannot have the self loader anywhere but the front. Looking at pictures of self loaders in Europe, everything is tidy and cut exact. so you have a predetermined length and nothing but. Here, you have especially with pulp, random lengths and not short blocks left behind. So that would also preclude the loader at the back of the truck.
@@knotbumper Thanks for reply, sorry I have forget to answer earlier. We have trucks that can haul long and short wood too, they exist in several forms. Most simple one don't require hydraulic steered axles, but truck overhang would steer dolly via long drawbar, timber bunks would be re-configured in like 15min. As for wood length, it really depends, but in this case you have to be very careful with the crane, to not break valves or lines.
Really nice rig
Y'all in the DB national Forrest ? I'm right on the edge of it myself
very cool. No im at the edge of the olympic national forest on the hood canal.
Hey logger. How are the "Binders" being accepted up yer way? Not more than 50 sold in North Bay that I have seen yet. Lots of class 6 and 7 but no class 8! I would say Kenworth is being really aggressive w financing in my hood as they seem to be out pacing Petes which in SF Bay Area is dominated at least w O/O scene, don't get me wrong tons of Volvo n freightshakers but trucker truckers own Paccar here! Great video btw
I don’t see many IH class 8 trucks on the road used like this it’s mainly KW and Pete’s. Thanks 🤙🏻
Please help me to buy this kind of machinery,
Mudrunner: extreme hardcore mode
how much weight can that loader pick up ?
Apparently 8-11K lbs is max
What RMP do you set it at while using the loader? Thanks.
RMP ? did you mean rpm
@@DanielBoonesloggingvideos Sorry I should’ve checked my spelling. Yes I meant RPM.
@@jratch100 ill ask him. should be around 1,500-1,700 though
Capacity of that loader in pounds ? Thanks.
supposedly 11 tons , the owner told me the biggest log he has picked up so far was 15,000 lbs and he felt that was heavy enough for the unit.
Daniel Boone's Logging videos you can believe what you want, but that setup is good for no more than 8K pounds. He could get a little more by adjusting the main pressure setting, and replacing any of the hoses that blow with the appropriate higher rated hoses. I ran log loaders for years, and I know b.s. when I see it.
copy that. i know nothing about these types of loaders. thanks for the input Don .
why no cab guard?
Good question, not sure.
Odd sort. What is it?
firewood.
