Hello, I would like to know if there are minutes or seconds of preparation before answering.

Hi! Great question. The responses in tasks 1 - 3 are 60 seconds and tasks 4 - 5 are 90 seconds. There is no time for planning during the test. Does that answer your question?

Do they give a pen and a paper so you can write down your thoughts?

@@jezz08 Great question! You cannot retake the speaking section. However, you can retake any of the other 3 sections: reading, writing, and listening.
