This is the first time I ever heard this song after listening to Paul tell the story of this unfinished song in “And the writer is” podcast with Ross Gollan(look it up!). I was wondering if this had any connection to the OTHER Michael, McDonald’s with the same title? The verse is different but it resembles on the chorus refrain, “This is it.” ? Maybe just a coincidence? After hearing this track and being a huge fan of Paul’s writing for years and his amazing renditions Of other peoples hits(“rock swings” album, another amazing one to check out!). In final, most importantly here if reaffirms what my absolute favorite part of Paul’s artistry- he’s so intentional yet poignant at the same time with his words. He just speaks and you have no choice in the matter but to feel it.
