- We put this week’s entire CRUMBL Cookies menu up against Insomnia’s Deluxe line to see which cookie chain does it best.
This epic battle of the menu’s consisted of 26 massive cookies totaling nearly 17,000 calories of both limited-time-only and permanent flavors eaten side-by-side, in full.
While you’d imagine consuming this much sweetness and decadence to be the real food challenge here, declaring a winner between the two may have been the truer difficult task!

Q: How do you not gain weight?
A: Endurance sports (primarily running, cycling and some resistance training tossed in) and extreme discipline & sacrifice with our daily diets is how we manage not to gain weight. We eat mostly vegetables, fruits, some whole grains and low fat dairy on the days outside these challenges. The calories consumed in a food challenge are the only calories consumed that day and sometimes the day following as well seeing our appetites are typically shot from so much food and the thought of eating is very off putting. Two days out we are back to large amounts of vegetables and increase to maintenance from there. We also often eat most of our days calories in a smaller eating window (we frequently bounce between intermittent fasting & OMAD diet as it just seems to work with our lifestyles and eating preferences). Anyone with a larger than normal stomach capacity like us, the drive to push through the discomfort of a challenge like this, and a basic understanding of energy balance (calories in vs calories out) can do it with enough disciple and intention (not that we recommend it).
Also worth mentioning is that we do not exercise to burn the calories consumed in a challenge but rather we are able to consume higher calorie diets due to our love for endurance sports and said discipline with our daily diets.

A: While we’re sure that type of video will eventually make its way out there, this channel is intended primarily for food entertainment. We’re still in the very early stages of establishing ourselves within this genre and we’re constantly experimenting and trying to improve upon our style to make our channel a unique experience. Food is our passion while fitness is our discipline so, while we currently only have the availability to produce one quality piece of content a week, food-centered videos is where we’ll be focusing our attention (and trust us, it’s more fun for all of us this way). Thats not to say it will never happen - it’s just not a top priority for us.

Great video! Going in I already had a favorite between these two, Insomnia. To me Crumbl isn't even a cookie, they're all flattened cake. It's good but when I want a cookie I want an actual cookie!
It's hard to compare some of these - because the cookies are kind of different (ie choc. crumbcake filled with oreo vs filled hot fudge sundae are fundamentally different types of cookies). But I absolutely LOVE your videos! (and you're so funny ("are you using the whole container? might as well." lol).

insomnia is definitely better. I’m a cookie monster and crumbl was just too much … I think it’s the frosting on their cookies and the cakey texture (which is fine every now and then). Crumbl was overhyped
In the end, different people will gravitate towards one or the other.
It’s more a matter of personal preference than one being definitively better than the other in our opinions.
It’s like the difference between people who gravitate towards traditional donuts and those that love the over the top brioche ones that have become increasingly popular over the years. Different people, different preferences 🙏

Unpopular opinion, Crumbl is overrated. I absolutely did not like a single flavor I tried.

Once I discovered Crumbl over a year ago I haven’t been back to Insomnia 👀 I will say I’m not a fan of their milk chocolate chip but oooh the maple glaze and Oreo from this week were so good! I can’t wait for you guys to try more of their flavors
Love this challenge guys! Would love to see a bagel one from your next where you compare your city’s best mom & pop bagel shops with more commercialized places like Dunkin Donuts and store bought. Maybe the cream cheeses of these places too.

The fruit cookie is totally a fruit pizza cookie. In the Midwest we make fruit pizza with a sugar cookie crust, lemon cream cheese "frosting" topped with fruit...grapes are definitely appropriate on it. 🤭

Dude, how could you eat each cookie in full? They are like 200 calories each minimum..
500-600 calories each.....not worth it.
We assume that’s why most people either only get one a week or share them with friends/family.
In the end, it all just comes down to weight though.
As people who have had to weigh and do the math for a looot of baked goods for our videos, pretty much all cookies are nearly the same calories for the weight. Like if you buy a 250 calorie cookie from somewhere else, it usually just means it’s also half the size/weight of these.
In the end we wouldn’t say anything isn’t worth trying once in your life though based off calories alone if you think you’d enjoy it... But to each their own own 🙏

Didnt expect the outcome to be like that. Especially since Crumbl isnt even the texture of actual cookies. Its like if you made "cookies" from cake mix. So what this tells me is that you prefer cakes over cookies apparently. Lol
Insomnia is better and Tiff Treats are delivered warm and better than both.
Crumbl "cookies" seem more like small free-form (pan-less) cakes rather than traditional cookies/biscuits, but that doesn't mean they aren't tasty

I've never had Crumbl, or Insomnia but I'd love to give it a go sometime.. the calories are super high though! Like WOAH! My max calories for a cookie is 280.. and thats a Quest Protein cookie! I think I'd rather try Insomnia over Crumbl.
also i notice the swap to smaller meals since youre doing more videos. Follow your heart fellas. I do like these videos as they lend themselves more to rating based videos and you cant do much of a food challenge with half the calories. Good pivot I think. I will say that candy ratings are a bit dull imo. Thanks for the video

We don’t have these brands in Australia and I so want to try them! I’m more of a classic cookie person. My usual go to cookie is the choc chip cookie from Subway . Heat it for 8-10 seconds in the microwave and it is so good! 😋

I just tried insomnia for the first time and wasn’t to impressed. I liked the s’mores cookie but the other deluxe cookies were very crumbly. I liked the triple choc and mint choc regular cookies tho. I’ll need to try crumble soon!
That’s strange. Been eating insomnia for many years and never had one close to crumbly 🤔 the deluxe ones are always so buttery and soft like theirs in the video at my location. Not a fan of the smaller ones though

If you order on the app you can walk past everyone in line and get your order first. Figured that out the first time I went there waiting in line for a hour watching all these people walking by me picking up their cookies. The cookies are great but one is like eating a full meal. Heavy.

i was legit just recently debating this question WOW the timing!
i basically felt the same EXACT way y’all did from watching these different videos and from only having tried insomnia. but i’m coming away with the same thoughts about the crispy outside soft gooey buttery inside of insomnia (which i’ve tried and am probably slightly biased to/like more) and that crumbl (which i haven’t tried) is more of this soft baked cookie that can resemble a very soft/cakey texture which i don’t not like, just think insomnia is the better COOKIE matches that texture and everything. id prolly go to insomnia over crumbl more given how warm gooey and crispy they are. but ye i would prolly go to crumbl when they have some crazy one in a lifetime or really standout flavor i like since insomnia has less variety since crumbles changes every week.
