I always find that if you buy tomatoes and roast them in the oven with some garlic, onion and herbs and then blend them all together and add cream it tastes better than a can tomato soup. It also partners up with delicious grilled cheese sandwich. I also believe that leaves loose their colour because of what you mentioned. The hours of sunlight diminishes so the chlorophyl breaks down and changes to orange, yellow red and copper looking leaves. have a lovely Halloween!
