omg this is actually the first song i’m learning on guitar 😹 found this song through my favourite move, the outsiders, loved this song since I watched it about a month ago and just had to learn it 😭 attempting to learn it on the piano as well (I’ve played piano for about 6 years now but this is my first time on guitar but my dad can play guitar which is lucky for me 😭)
@@eilishh.x I was in the same situation. I was a piano player of a few years and this was the song that got me to try guitar! Those bends were irresistible. It's a pretty easy song, but getting comfortable doing those bends and some vibrato takes a few years so don't be discouraged.
@@StudioMod haha thank you! i’m making it my goal to be able to play it, as well as my friend who is also learning it. we’re planning to play it for our music exam 😭
So glad you did this version. I started on your Ventures 68 version which is way cool but much harder ! This one is just spot on for a 50's / 60's band like I play with -
Yeah, me too!! I played rhythm, but now I am learning the lead that my old surf band used to play...and Tom is making it much easier and I am having a blast!
Amazing playing and I look forward to learning it. But could you perhaps filter out the top end of the beel tones in future videos? I was fearing I had developed tinnitus.
Sounds great! You got a new JM! How does it compare with your old one? PS Having a ball learning and playing a number of your songs. Thanks for all you do to bring those great surf classics so we can learn them.
Hey Tom, any chance you can share some info on what appears to be a new guitar? I couldn't quite read the head stock in the video. Great job on this classic that never seems to old and is always great to listen to. Another 4-bagger! Rich
The Venture version that I did was based on their live recording. It’s still up if you want to search for it. It’s fun and there’s more soloing and a bit more edge to it
Will i be able to buy the backing tracks from now on the same way as i used to, or from now on all new backing tracks are only available to people who support your patreon?
@tomcon21 Thanks for taking the time to answer. You deserve my support either way but I also have to think what is best for me. I believe keeping all options open is good.
@@tomcon21 thank you very much for your UA-cam channel !!! you are doing a great thing !! you give help to many millions of guitar players around the world!! this is a contribution to the music culture of the past years!!!
Coolest song I ever heard. Can remember running into the house when this came on the radio. Maybe 3 times. KOMA OKC.
One of my favorite surf songs. Thanks!
The first song on guitar I ever learned. 20 years later and the rest is history.

What the history?

I was confused because you covered the ventures version but I see differences in this one too! Well done!
well Tom, as always, you knocked this one out of the park 😉
Beautiful guitar, great music, and it's great that you put the tablature, thank you Tom.
Awesome! I used to perform that version with my old Surf band.
Yeah, me too!! I played rhythm, but now I am learning the lead that my old surf band used to play...and Tom is making it much easier and I am having a blast!
New guitar? Love that blue color.
Rod Serling would be proud Tom great version.
I like the background lead on the bridge this go around. Almost like the "oohs" and "ahhs" of backing vocals!
Awesome
Top-notch as always, Tom!
bloody great as always.
I just heard this the other day on the radio while I was driving and was going to cover it. You beat me damnit 😆
Nice new guitar too 👍🏻
Good stuff, Tom... Audio is superb... Thanks for posting... PS. I'm Still waiting for Mr. Lee by the Bobbettes... Thought I'd mention it LOL
Thanks Tom! This is a great song for helping me to learn bends (I struggle...but I am new at this)
Amazing playing and I look forward to learning it.
But could you perhaps filter out the top end of the beel tones in future videos?
I was fearing I had developed tinnitus.

This is the only version I've heard. I think I missed your Ventures video other people are talking about. I know this song thanks to Pulp Fiction.
The Venture version that I did was based on their live recording. It’s still up if you want to search for it. It’s fun and there’s more soloing and a bit more edge to it
It's not clear. Does a patreon get charged automatically every month or a pay upfront for a minimum of 12 months or something else?
I believe you can go month to month
Will i be able to buy the backing tracks from now on the same way as i used to, or from now on all new backing tracks are only available to people who support your patreon?
Not 100% sure but I think I will also make the backing tracks available as before; after 10 are completed

Odd request but could you please try Lone Star by Tony Marcus? Especially the solo? It's a song from my favorite video game
What strings do you use on the Fender Jazzmaster guitar in the Video?
