I knew it was going to be a musical, I didn't know the already existing musical. I didn't have any particular expectation, I ended up having a great time with the movie.
The only crime i saw in this movie was using an Olivia Rodrigo song for the trailer 😭 i loved the movie, and I knew it was a musical basically from the get-go. But i hate Olivia Rodrigo, tbh that girls voice is not made for pop.
I saw the new movie and didn’t know it was a musical until I saw the movie in the theater. I didn’t like the new movie. It was a shell of the original plus music and some questionable costume choices for teenagers.
I'm not even going to see it. I saw a tiny bit of the talent-show scene, and that's all it took to make puke my popcorn and know to stay far away from this train-wreck. Oh well, at least "The Girls Who Eat Their Feelings" got to display their talents for once.
That's silly bro, it's not like Renee has that much power. The real reasons are more likely to do with the fact that the musical is written by Tina Fey's husband, and the musical ended prematurely due to covid. So they get a double payday if the movie and the soundtrack of the movie earns well. It's also the 20th anniversary of the original film. But they couldn't just straight up copy it and add references to social media and nothing else, because everyone would hate that. I do agree though that this is Regina George: The Musical. But I really liked it. And Renee tells her stories in a funny way, but honestly it's cool that she stood up for her priorities. She has said in a different interview that she never thought she was a good actor, but she saw that acting brought attention to her music, and she was willing to do anything and work hard to make that happen. So I don't see anything wrong here. Let the wretch make her blood oaths.
She's played Regina George for quite a while now. I think it's safe to say that she knows a little something about acquiring power and manipulating her surroundings.
to be fair it was really regina of her only accepting what she wanted
lol true
the "ew we're not gonna tell them obviously" SENT ME LOOOOL

"It's a revenge party with your two best friends. It's like a party with revenge is what it's like."
Oh yeah, this is brilliant!
This channel is my new source of news since deleting tiktok, Twitter, and Reddit

I would never interfere with blood oath. The stains and hauntings would be horrendous

7:05 that interview is from 2019
That could be the case but she still has been promoting the movie (mostly) solo.
