How considerate of you to outline the time marks for your viewers! I've been following you & your work for a few years now. I can honestly say, you have one of the best wig channels I've come across. Thanks so much, & keep up the good work!
Bobbie, your videos and your work are my new obsession! Love that you do Skype lessons, not in NYC until late next year (visiting from Australia) so I'll be booking in sometime soon.
Thanks again for sharing will be in touch soon about those canvas blocks although I am on desperate need for a wood block for milnery school I just started
I l💖ve your vids.I've learned so much from you in just a short time since I came across your channel. Thanks for being funny and detailed.Your tips are awesome & appreciated 💋💋💋
Hey Bobbie. I love all of your videos. I'm from the uk and I'd like to know how or where I can buy the thick band you wear on your head when you prep your head to wear a wig so you can secure it. Look forward to hearing from you. Xxx
Much appreciation for this. tutorial. Would u consider another tutorial as per tweaking or customization of hairline on front lace closure?? Example customising high hairline or widow peak hairline to blend front lace closure??
Do you have any videos on how to attach the hair stands to a lace material? I'm having a hard time finding any tutorials for that. I want to take a few of my crappy wigs but give them the front that lace fronts have instead of just a solid line. I hope that makes sense.
You're videos are so wonderful; thank you for all that you do! Two questions: when you put the additional row of pins in the lace section behind where it's blocked, did you use the larger pins? Would that tear the lace because of the bigger size, or is that only a concern with the front lace where there is no hair? Also, do you cover your wig block before you block a wig on it? What do you prefer to use? Thanks Bobbie! You're the greatest.
The shaft of the pins are a little bit larger than the smaller pins I use in the front, but not by much. They're still smaller than the hole pattern in the lace, and if I run out of the smaller pins I will often use the larger headed pins in the front. I show how to cover blocks in my original "wig heads" video from a few years ago.
Now that you said Wiggins out on weds day I ran with that one on a tight budget I am revamping the old synthetic wigs and pieces something I done a lot but now I have a few great teachers I am out with the old and in with the new Wiggins out lol
Ive always used Bias Tape to block the front of my lace fronts bc it has a bit of stretch to it and can curve around the sides of the face. Is there a major difference in using Twill Tape vs Bias Tape?
Hi Bobbie. Thank you so much for one great tutorial. I have a question. How do you block a wig that lace front was cut at the hairline? Make a tutorial and I do your Laundry. Love you.
HI there! I have a question. I ordered a blockhead online and the outside is canvas but the inside is hard plastic!! I see you pinning the pins straight in so I take it your block heads have stuffing instead of plastic. Have I been scammed???
Thank you for your quick response. I got it from an eBay shop. But it wasn't cheap! I got it for $40,- so I expected to get a normal one like I see in all the/your videos! :(
I usually will lay right on the hairline, you have to be very careful and ensure the hair is all going straight back off the hairline; otherwise you can get really bad pin dents in the hair.
Yup! If the lace is super short I block about 1/8-1/4 inch into the hairline too, just make sure all of the hair is going straight back before you block it, otherwise you'll get little loops across the areas where the pins were!
The less pins you use to block down lace the more prone you are to pulling, warping and tearing while rollersetting or styling. When you use more pins you more evenly distribute the tension across the entire lace area which reduces the risk of damaging.
You are the young cool drag aunt that everyone needs but nobody knows they need. Thank you for doing what you do Bobby!

I personally do not have a ventilating tutorial, but there are many out there!
Thank you! I didn't know the term.
Hi, I wanted to know what's the difference between the long neck canvas heads and the short neck ones. Will it make a difference in making the wig ?
I have another video called "wig heads 101" where I explain this.
it should be linked in the sidebar.
New subie. I love your submissions. God bless.

Hey Bobby, how do you fix wrinkled lace on a lacefront that's already been cut?
Usually blocking the wig down tightly will fix any wrinkles.
Great video
You're great! Kisses from Paris
Your a pro!
Question I've alwaysssss wondered about. Why do theatre wigs have suchhhh long made. I mean some like come down to almost the eyebrows. Why is that?
Because it allows the wigs to last for a very long time, the shorter you trim the lace the shorter the life span of the wig.
Ive always used Bias Tape to block the front of my lace fronts bc it has a bit of stretch to it and can curve around the sides of the face. Is there a major difference in using Twill Tape vs Bias Tape?
I've used bias in the past as well, the main difference is that bias is usually thinner and folded over
Do you put “frey block on your wigs?
I do not. I worked at a theatre that had a few that were, and it was very visible on the edge of the lace and I ended up trimming it off.
You are awesome!!!!
Is it necessary to keep your wig block wrapped in plastic? Or is that more for cleanliness?
+TheSpazOutLoud It's not necessary, but it helps your block last a lot longer.
+WigginOutBZ cool, thanks.
I ❤️💛💚💙💜 you Bobby Pinz...you helped me step my wig game up 💯 percent...
thank you💋💋💋💋
Hi Bobbie. Thank you so much for one great tutorial.
I have a question. How do you block a wig that lace front was cut at the hairline? Make a tutorial and I do your Laundry. Love you.
Same way. Just move your twill back.
Where did u get the manikin head?
I sell canvas wig blocks on my website, link in the box.
HI there! I have a question. I ordered a blockhead online and the outside is canvas but the inside is hard plastic!! I see you pinning the pins straight in so I take it your block heads have stuffing instead of plastic. Have I been scammed???
All of the blocks I own and sell are cork filled, where did you purchase it?
Thank you for your quick response. I got it from an eBay shop. But it wasn't cheap! I got it for $40,- so I expected to get a normal one like I see in all the/your videos! :(
what if the lace is already cut [changing hairstyle on already worn wig] where does the twill lie right on the hair line?
I usually will lay right on the hairline, you have to be very careful and ensure the hair is all going straight back off the hairline; otherwise you can get really bad pin dents in the hair.
ahh i see, the dents would occur from the hair bending/wrapping around the pins.
Thanks!!!!!
Anytime!
Bobby! Bobby! Bobby! Bobby! 🎯🎯
Im guessing you block full lace cap wigs the same way?
Yup! You can swap out glass head pins for the back pins for a full lace, since they're smaller!
Soooooooo.... same technique when the lace is already cut?
Yup! If the lace is super short I block about 1/8-1/4 inch into the hairline too, just make sure all of the hair is going straight back before you block it, otherwise you'll get little loops across the areas where the pins were!
Why does it sound like all those pins would do more damage over time?
The less pins you use to block down lace the more prone you are to pulling, warping and tearing while rollersetting or styling. When you use more pins you more evenly distribute the tension across the entire lace area which reduces the risk of damaging.
Take a shot every time he says "Bobbiepinz.com" and you'll be absolutely fucked by the end of this video
YESSSSSsssssssss
I read the title as "How to block-lace front-wigs" and was confused ^^
Thank you for this tutorial. Now I feel even more unprofessional. I might as well start calling my wigs units
LOL
I hope you're being sarcastic?? Your wigs are beautiful! I wish I was as good of a builder as you are!
Talk about size queens
Mickey mouse looks more like Martin Martian to me. haha ya know.... antennas!
Lol!
