I’m not a biker but I have jeans covered in random patches and I have a jean jacket covered in patches from places I’ve been. I just found out about a free motion foot that will be a game changer also the pearl and piping pressure foot makes sewing so much easier! Thanks for the video
Very Important what this nice lady said about the difference between a legit 'cut' and an official 'MC' main patch on the back of a local MC member. If someone wants to Join an MC there is a best practices method to do that but is is a lifetime/lifestyle commitment. No one 'quits' an MC. lol. Also never physically touch the main patch area of an MC members vest it's considered bad manners. ;-) As long as your vest looks like yours and not almost identical to a local MC design you can do a whole riding club design for your homies even. Sally's advice on this could honestly save you a lot of trouble. Don't unwittingly insult a ' 1%' rider. Respect is free for us to give and it always has a high rate of return. :D Great video! on a sometimes misunderstood area of the lifestyle.
Lmao!!! Same here, less and less patches out and more Dixxon flannel 🤣 sounds like it’s universal all over now. The metal head scene still does patches so i’ll keep rocking my battle vest to concerts and on the bikes 🤘 old skool
As an independent biker, I wear patches that reflect my life, a few music bands, places I have been, my national flag, the motorcycle makes I ride and like, veteran submariner patch, medal bar, a few pins, a rockers patch but thats a UK thing from the old rockers of rock n roll, ton up boys. Its different, I dont attract attention from MCs but then I'm not trying to be something I'm not. I like your idea of the animal prints, I thought about putting leopard print around the colour as a legacy tribute back to the of the punks and psychobillies, I didnt grow out of that music scene. I may need to keep rewatching this video to sed how to thread up the sewing machine.
Hi from down under Sally. I agree with what both said ree wearing what you want. I'm 70 now and have ridden since 9 years old. Started on a Honda step through. One of my bikes is a 82 Shovelhead Sturgis and have copped a lot of flak for sticking with it but it's my dream. But I always wear all my safety gear. Before Christmas 2021 I t boned a kangaroo at 100k on my 81 Suzuki and the safety gear was the only thing that saved me from very serious injury. Love your vids especially pointing out differences between engines etc. Then Came Bronson was the movie that inspired me to own a kicker Shovelhead. Shinny side up. Stay safe.
Cheers Stanley! Thanks for watching! 100km tbone?!? Wow amazing ur still riding and walking after that. That’s great ur still running that Shovelhead, who cares what people say. And don’t we all want to quit working for The Man and just go RIDE. Experience life and freedom on two wheels! That’s the dream! Thanks for watching! Ride hard, ride safe 🤩
I like the base you have on the machine. Did you (or someone) fabricate this? Was the original legs cut down or replaced with something else? Need to make one for my machine. Any tips or info?
Yes, my husband welded that bottom plate, it came with those short little metal legs, so he used those and just welded the bottom support plate with a angle piece so that it can stand on a table. It’s heavy for sure lol
Hi! I use the same in the top and bobbin, coats and clark or whatever is available, black transparent 100% nylon thread, size 5. It’s thinner than the bonded nylon, but still strong enough to keep your patches on in any weather!

The purpose of a patch is to say something about yourself, something you believe in and these younger riders believe in nothing independently. They do not put patches on because social media and the government have not told them what to believe and what to do. Then there is the cost of changing the patches in three months. I love your vest the animal print is cute!!! I wish you would have shown the patches you choose and talked about their meaning to you and why you have them on the vest?
Ahhh Toni dropping some truth! Daaaaaaaaannngg lol wish there were more young riders that have the old school mentality or atleast back bones of any type lol!! I’ll get a vid together showing some of my patches, it’s lots of band patches, rally patches, and anti-govt patches 🤣 ya know, the essentials. Cheers and thanks for watching!
Agreed. I use my patches on my vest as extra protection, to show where all we've ridden, and it is that simple.
Exactly! It tells a story 🤩

Cool video! The patched up vest is a dying breed over here. Its mostly flannel. And we do have a few guys jacked up on sons of anarchy with fake cuts

Show of hands, who sowed closed the sleeves of their jacket, like me ?
Ohh for sure mee too! Sewed some pockets shut, sleeves shut, and even sewed myself to stuff before lol! It’s a learning curve. Thanks for watching 🤘
@@ironheadsally i mean you think you are carefull but then when you try to put on your jacket it turns out the lining is sowed shut...
No sleeves but many pockets. One time after sewing a pocket shut I ripped the stitches and proceeded to sew it shut again; it's still sewn shut
That's a very beautiful cat. By the way the audio kept cutting in and out getting louder and quieter

Do you sew 🧵 vests as a business?
Sometimes, i sew locally for friends and i have set up at motorcycle events before, but that can get hectic lol
