Loram Shoulder Ballast Cleaner SBC 2402 on CSX, Drone Video

SBC 2402 was working on the CSX CE&D sub near Hazelton, IN. I caught it working at night and used two drones to film it working. This machine cleans the dirt out of the ballast on the shoulder of the roadbed to allow for good water drainage away from the roadbed. This also helps extend the life of the crossties and the condition of the roadbed to extend the period of time between tamping & regulating the track.
