- The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA) is a contemporary art museum in Korea. The main museum is in Gwacheon and the other three branches are each in Seoul, Deoksugung (Seoul) and Cheongju. I'd like to show 'MMCA Seoul' today, I've been in here many times actually since I came back to Korea, they keep showing the new exhibitions regularly and I always love to see them casually in the weekend. Because we can't film all the exhibitions (some exhibitions, we can take photos only) at least I'd like to deliver the atmosphere in there for you, hope you like it.
Recently RM of BTS has posted some photos on twitter from MMCA Seoul, Lee Kunhee collection. RM visits MMCA quite often he has posted many pictures from MMCA each branch during that time. He donated 100M Korean won to this museum on his birthday in 2020 to let more young people be able to read the art books. ch...

*Lee Kunhee collection : Around 23,000 artworks includes Korean artworks and western paintings like by Pablo Picasso and Claude Monet were donated to South Korea from the collection of Samsung's late chairman, Lee Kun-hee. And some of them are showing at the National Museum of Korea & MMCA now.

MMCA Seoul is close to the Gyeongbokgung Palace, one of the major palaces of the Joseon Dynasty. During the site excavation, the foundations of the Gyeongkeun-dang House and Okcheop-dang House of the office of the royal genealogy of the Joseon Dynasty were “found in good condition”. The office of the royal genealogy was transformed into a building of 302 chambers in the 1860s, only two of which now remain: Gyeongkeun-dang and Okcheop-dang, which were moved near to the Jeongdok Library in 1981. They were registered as cultural properties of Korea and moved back to their original locations to become part of this MMCA Seoul museum complex.

Wow this is so beautiful place. I love when Namjoon go to museum, bookstores and do the namjooning.
Even though he is not my bias, Namjoon is the guy I most relate to out of all BTS members, along with Tae Tae (who also loves animals). I go to museums and art galleries generally on my own, we have a few amazing museums in London. I sit there and admire the beauty of the space. I love animals and I am passionate about the environment (started recycling rubbish when I was 14) and educating my family. If I find a bee or a snail in need, I will help them and put them out of harm’s way. I wish I could take Namjoon to visit Claude Monet’s house in France.

It's always a pleasure to visit a museum..
It tells you so much about your history, art etc.
These paintings look so ordinary yet they are so artistic..
When you see those paintings for the first time you will think that's it an ordinary painting..
But every art has a story to it.. we don't see or understand it but it's simply magnificent with some meaning..
And when you read the backstory of these paintings you won't be able to look at them the same way..
These paintings were really made by people with an artistic eye..
I don't know the backstory properly but as you have give the names of the artists Soo Choi ssi I'll try to learn about them so that I can appreciate these beauties more thoroughly..The coffe and cake ....it looked delicious.
Plus I also loved the fact that how MMCA was so mordern and Gyeonggeundang and Okcheopdang looked so traditional..
It was so clean..
And the display of the art books were so nice..
You really need to be an art lover to appreciate those...
Plus the dolphin was cute..
As an art lover and museum lover I really appreciated this video..
It's always a pleasure to know new things..

I wish I could visit Seoul and other regions of Korea, it has so many places I want to go to. Sadly my city lacks in cultural settings, I have to travel to get any sense of culture. Thanks to Namjoon I do feel the urge to visit more museums, this one in particular as shown on your video feels so relaxing and healing while feeding the mind.

How were you able to get a reservation to the Lee Gunhee collection ㅠㅠㅠㅠ I've been trying for weeks and it's always 매진 ㅠㅠㅠㅠ
Yes it was such a competition you only can reserve 14days before from 12:00am so if you want to go to there 11/14 you need to book at 11/1 12:00am KST usually it's gone in few min so you need to hurry up. hope you can make it.
