- Go behind-the-scenes of my podcast, Longer Tables, and watch the extended interview with the great - the only and the one - Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE. @janegoodallinst
Jane’s work changed the way we see the natural world. She was the first to realize, after observing animals in the wild at age 26, that chimpanzees use tools - something that previously had been considered only a human practice. And did you know that chimps, like humans, also have a food culture? It’s true. They share food traditions and even the use of medicinal plants from generation to generation and those traditions change, just like ours, from place to place.
You’re going to want to hear all about it, plus Jane’s views on food as memory and food in conservation. Plus, a special chimpanzee greeting from the animal kingdom.

Two amazing human beings having a great conversation! I identify a lot with this conversation. I had the pleasure of meeting Jose Andreas on Pine Island right after the hurricane a couple months ago. He helicoptered in with hot food to feed the island and asked for nothing in return! He and his team are doing incredible work l hope to see you again Chef! Jane Goodal you are an inspiration in my environmental work and organic farming.
What an absolutely amazing interview! Jane Goodall has always been an inspiration to me, and the angle you bring her to interview in is genuinely fascinating.

Beautiful conversation!!
simply brilliant!
21:31 did the chimps learn from humans?
Or
Did the humans learned from chimps.
Let me offer a third possibility:
Both groups had the required physiology to take advantage of the existing resource.
The emergent behavior could manifest independently in both groups.
Oh my fried Spam Sandwiches. What we always ate on fishing trips.😂
