My first flight alone was on Iran air from Tehran to Rasht on the 727-200 during Shah's era when I was a young boy. My passion for aviation started early on. The Iran Air Flight Attendants were so kind and generous. They looked so glamorous in their very chic pre-revolution uniforms, mini skirts and the cute hats. It was considered a dream job back then. They gave me so much food and attention on a 45 minute flight and that sparked an interest in me. I became a Flight Attendant for TWA in 1989 when I was only 21 and I flew mostly Europe on the 747-100's and 747-200's, however I flew on the 727 now and then. My first assignment was on the 727 as the L1 Flight Attendant. I nearly burned the meals and served heated runny ice-creams (forgot to take the dry-ice off so I put them in the oven) right before landing. Thanks for taking me back to the memory lane. I would love to go back to Iran someday, however when the Mollah's are gone and the Kingdom is back or a democratic presidential system is in tact. How did you get the permission from Iran Air to film? Did you spend anytime visiting places like Astara and Tabriz up north and Shiraz and Isfahan down south? Iran has some interesting and great places to visit and amazing food. Plus the most hospitable and friendliest people on earth. I have been around the globe and I believe the hospitality of Iranians, Turks & Moroccans are the best in the world. I always go back to Morocco and visit places such as Essouirra, Chefchaouen, Taghazout bay, Tangier & Marrakech.
Regardless of their country's politics, these guys are aviation heroes. To conduct regular air service with very few incidents while being deprived of most of the parts and technology that other airlines take for granted is nothing short of amazing. I don't like the mullahs but I like Iran Air.
Well im assuming its because the western media has been trying to put that in peoples mind regardless of the truth , you should do more research on that so you’ll find out why a great nation chose this kind of ideology to present to the world. We said and say no to east (communists) nor west (capitalists) cuz they are both are made from the same devil, the z!ocons.
I had the privilege to fly ALL versions of B727 over 4.5 years. Regardless of what I flew afterwards this is my favorite aircraft ever to fly. A pilots airplane. Very reliable and safe. Very sturdy in bad weather and turbulence. Hands on it handles like a dream. And very fast for it’s era........ B727-100/200, B727QF and Super 27.......
I love these old flying birds! Unfortunately I'm young enough to never fly such airplanes, but I would be glad if someday I take the right seat on one of those. B727, B732, MD11 and so one.
Wow great footage and really nice crew from Iran air! One thing i noticed was how DAMN bumpy that runway as that bang just before rotate didn't look that comfty haha.
@gt5004life You are correct, normally the captain would be in the left seat, but they swapped seat just for the video shoot, as this would give me a better angle and view of the captain. Awesome crews at Iran Air! Fantastic.
thank you for not thinking its a risk to travel to iran and thank you for this video, if you ever go back try SAHA Airways they operate the 707, that would be a truly fantastic video, my grandmother worked for iran air most of her life so if i ask her about the captain to this flight she will know him, she wanted to take me in the Iran air 727 sim, but i was too young at the time, really a bigg missed oppurtunity
@Edalatx Thanks for the info. I knew about English being the international language of aviation, but I didn't know that the sky over Iran was a major air route. You learn something new every day :)
@VikingAviationPhoto Actually sometimes captains do sit in the right seat. This could be done for a variety of reasons, for example in case of a training captain or sometimes only for staying proficient in both positions, the captain and the first officer switch seats.
@TheSheiban Hello Sheiban.Your answer is definitely yes because English is the international language of Air controls all around the world. In addition the Air space of Iran is also an very extremely frequented flay zone for many other Companies overflying to the east, or in reverse fly to the west. Some times they are also speaking Farsi, but it,s just tolerated.
Vanadeo To the left of it, you can see the artificial horizon, on which the pilot can see the planes bank angle and the nose pitch. On its right you have the weather radar, from which the pilot can see the weather ahead. It also shows the heading of the plane.
***** 727s were among the most reliable aircraft ever made, which is why they lasted this long. Others such as the DC-9, DC-10,........ didn't last as long.
shikat2371 There are still many DC-9s and DC-10s, mainly as cargo aircrafts. Also Delta Airlines reired their DC-9s this year and the very last passenger DC-10 also flew this year. So they did last as long as the B727, they are actually still here!
Must be a training Captain in the left seat. Must be senior too because the left seat skipper defers reject authority. I’ve never seen an FO with his hands in the thrust levers up to V1
Iran Air is (IA) a very well run airline with splendid routines and safety focus. Even flying older planes, the fleet is held ship shape and to a very high level of safety measurements. And the pilots and cabin crew are highly educated within aviation. I flew as cabin crew for Sabena way back in time, and I met several IA crews on different hotels on night stops. Very nice people, all the time. And we had some good laughs. :-) Remember one captain, he was hilarious telling jokes all the time when we at Sabena invited the IA-crew to join us at the hotel dinner table. That night we went to bed very late. We had flights not before the next day and the IA guys had afternoon check in. My god, that night we developped six packs due to his jokes, he made us laugh so hard! Ha ha! :)
This was a treat, I was a big fan of the 727-200, this particular aircraft looks perfectly maintained, that can't be easy. Thanks for making this video available.
We usually film the pilot flying most, and in this case it was the captain's legs to fly. So, since the seating is what it is in a B727 cockpit, the Captain's chair offers the best view to film. So, we placed the pilot flying in the seat with the best view for the camera. Thanks to Iran Air for such a great cooperation!
I like the fact that Iran Air flies aircraft that is older than I am, keeps them maintained. Most aircraft like this are either used for freighters or in the bone yard in the United States, it shows that if you maintain something, car, plane, etc, it can last a long time.
Great memories! My first command was on 727 and to this day I dream about the cockpit and see myself flying one. Later on I transferred to wide bodies but regardless of size the 27 will always be my favorite.
This was awesome and very informative. As much as I fly, I have have never been privy to what goes on in the cockpit and the activities of the rest of the flight crew. Thanks very much for posting this. BTW - I know that you guys are having a lot of problems with obtaining spare-parts for your aeroplanes, due to the illegal sanctions we have imposed on Iran, following our zionist israeli masters. I apologize to all Iranians for that. Kudos to this and all flight crew all over the world.
A very nicely put together video! I miss the 727s that belonged to Iran Air and Iran Aseman, they were last passenger operators. The only remaining aircraft operate in cargo service, VIP/private service, and military service.
VERY SAD that EACH TIME THEY ARE GOING TO LAND, YOU CUT THE SCENE!! It´s very difficult nowdays to have the chance to film from a cockpit. So it´s unforgivable that you "viking wings", having all these very kind flight crews, don´t film a single landing. Very Sad!!
I,m Iranian, and also an frequent intercontinental flayer.I must say that this is defiantly the second best video i have seen about flying beside a cockpit fly of Concorde.Dude, you have done very well, be sure of my respect and honor. The fact that it,s an B-727 is amazing.Indeed my country mens are in my opinion one the best in the world, and as you see, they are flying without any kind of computer or digital help.God bless them all and also you all.Make it good and good luck.
7:21: did the flight engineer just say "Speedbrake INOP"?! How f'ing broken is this thing? The embargo taking its toll on the poor old B722, I guess...
***** I'm not hearing it. Moreover, the speedbrake seems distinctly unarmed (speedbrake lever in fully down detent). Upon closer examination at 5:45, you can see a short closeup on the panel and what appears to be the SPEEDBRAKE ARMED light with a white "INOP" tag over it.
What a well made video of an incredible aircraft! And the entire flight crew seemed from the video to be very professional and confident. I wonder how they would like to get their hands on a Triple 7. I have no doubt that they would handle one with precision and grace. Great video!
@trainfreak7745 Thank you. No, these aircraft EP-IRT and EP-IRS are still in active service today with Iran Air. Unfortunately another B727 from Iran Air EP-IRP crashed shortly after my visit filming these flights.
great video the 727 is my favorite plane i took my first flight on a united 727 does the plane in the video still work is faa procedure pilot flying watchpanel and one not flying does comunacations and watch outside thankyou
surprisingly the cockpit is much more quit that the other modern airplanes!! maybe because of the engines location at the tail but comparing it with other tail engine airplanes, this is more quit.
they cut the video too soon, we didnt get to see the landing at the end. nice video. 727 was a slow aircraft on take off as u can see in this clip but its a workhorse of the boeing fleet

iranian girls are beautiful...

100 % agreed!

B727-100/200, B727QF and Super 27.......
Lucky you! 👍 I love that silent cockpit too 🥰✈️
That's a beautiful night approach into Tehran.
12 years gone. And here I'm again.... What a golden time and plane
Yes, I am lucky to have flewn her and that I was able to film it for all to see... Thanks for watching 👍
this video is outstanding!! I loved it.
Thanks for sharing
ground handled these birds for 20 yrs with Republic and Northwest. Many many fond memories
Lovely! I hope you took good care of them :-)
Awesome. Beautiful video. Respect for those airmen.
Thank you for watching. Indeed, respekt 👊
I love these old flying birds! Unfortunately I'm young enough to never fly such airplanes, but I would be glad if someday I take the right seat on one of those. B727, B732, MD11 and so one.
Yes, the B727 is fantastic. Quiet and nice. I had almost forgotten how quiet they were when I first started filming this video. Lovely aircraft.
It was only for the filming. The Captain is a TRI and was friendly enough to sit in the right seat for us to get the best shots.
Wow great footage and really nice crew from Iran air!
One thing i noticed was how DAMN bumpy that runway as that bang just before rotate didn't look that comfty haha.
I watched this video when I was ten year old. Today I accidentally found it, please do not delete it my childhood is connected to it.
Happy to hear you found it again. I have no plans of deleting it. Buy the DVD if you want it in your collection.
awesome airplane LOVE IT.......miss boeing 727-200s....history in US....specially
Amazing video is nice to remember those great Airplanes
Good Job! Kudos to ya' all for making the old birds running like pros. Good presentaion. God Speed.
very informative thanks Cap 4 posting
@gt5004life
You are correct, normally the captain would be in the left seat, but they swapped seat just for the video shoot, as this would give me a better angle and view of the captain. Awesome crews at Iran Air! Fantastic.
Fantastic Video!
Thank you. Happy to hear you like it. The 727 is fantastic!
classic is never outdated )))
this is amazing . well done i like the your videos very much . ty
Love 727.. I'm lucky to fly one..
WELL IT LOOKS LIKE THERE KEEPING THE 727 IN GOOD SHAPE LOOKS NICE
thank you for not thinking its a risk to travel to iran and thank you for this video, if you ever go back try SAHA Airways they operate the 707, that would be a truly fantastic video, my grandmother worked for iran air most of her life so if i ask her about the captain to this flight she will know him, she wanted to take me in the Iran air 727 sim, but i was too young at the time, really a bigg missed oppurtunity

The best regards to iranian pilot's from ukranian MD-80 colleague!
@VikingAviationPhoto Actually sometimes captains do sit in the right seat. This could be done for a variety of reasons, for example in case of a training captain or sometimes only for staying proficient in both positions, the captain and the first officer switch seats.
nice video
No, none of the crews we filmed were affected by the accident. Luckily!
That plane looks like it could do,with a good wash and maybe even a new paint job
Fantastic Video ! Great job . I am sold on this :)
woooooow
@EightCharlieFox
Yeah, this is different. Old classic Boeing 727, finally filmed in HD and Widescreen.
Not many left in the world today!
@omgproducers2 Thank you for being so wise, if only others saw it the same way
Have you walked around any US Commercial Aircraft lately! They look the same as the tires at 1:15!
@simplefact4u
Thank you! I am happy you like it!
Do you know if it came from a airline in the US/ united American delta twa or eastern thanks the 727 is my favorite plane
@vikingaviationphoto is these plane safe? they're hella old.. can you uppload more iran air videos like this? thanx:)
yeah i am from mexico so i use to fly in an airline called mexicana de aviacion and 10 years from now i havent flied in a 727

awesome!!! =)
Nice video!.. What music is playing in the beginning?
Why is the captain sitting on the right-hand seat?
Those Iranian cabin crews are something aren't they?
Still strong after all those sanctions, so impressive to see them land without and auto throttle or glide slope intercept.
why is pilot on the right and co pilot on the left ???
It is production music.
No ECAMs at all !!! That's interesting.
Why is the captain sitting in the right?
What is the gauge next to the Altimeter?? 0:32 ..
Vanadeo
To the left of it, you can see the artificial horizon, on which the pilot can see the planes bank angle and the nose pitch.
On its right you have the weather radar, from which the pilot can see the weather ahead. It also shows the heading of the plane.
If it wasnt for economic sanctions Iran Air wouldnt be flying this classic birds
there is no in europe this plane... No any more
Great video of the 727. Not surprising the Iranians always kept filthy aircraft. Maintenance was shoddy at best.
***** 727s were among the most reliable aircraft ever made, which is why they lasted this long.

Well, I'd like to put it like this: It's a classic aircraft :-)
Aviation enthusiasts have no politics or borders. Great video.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks for the kind comment.
Exactly! I have always had a lot of respect for non english speaking pilots that learn the language so they can fly.
Excellent video quality, especially from the cockpit looking out at night.
I like the fact that Iran Air flies aircraft that is older than I am, keeps them maintained. Most aircraft like this are either used for freighters or in the bone yard in the United States, it shows that if you maintain something, car, plane, etc, it can last a long time.

+MrCapi55 Don't you think it's planned?
They want to sell more copies of the film and that's why they cut out important parts like the landing.
+MrCapi55 This is a trailer. I hope you realise that. In our full movies everything is included.
So, I "Bite the Bait" . Just tell us how we can get your "full movie" (but what a Malicious way of selling!).
+MrCapi55 Look the link in the description, I guess.
You can find all our videos on our website: www.vikingwings.com/

Iran Air of the best airline companies in the world.
The best pilots &The best aircraft maintenance engineers
Beautiful video, thanks for sharing
What I love from those videos is that I flew so many times in 727 since I was a kid and see them flying in Iran, takes me to my Childhood.
OMG!!! wonderfull video, i think is the best 727 video available!!!
Iran Air has some very well oiled machines that will rival cargo airlines. :))
Sure miss the three-holer. A real mans airplane. Other than the DC-9 of course.
The 727 is beautiful.
great video,my father Captained B727 for Dan-Air🙄
like the music and the 727 they are reliable work horse's
Can`t wait to get toShiraz again , I trust iranian operated "old" planes anyhow if ist Tu 154 or B727 !!!!!!!! Really nice vidio! Michael.E
When you decide to go to Iran please let me know. You should also check out Astara in the northern part which is in province of Gilan.
@trainfreak7745 Thank you. No, these aircraft EP-IRT and EP-IRS are still in active service today with Iran Air.
Unfortunately another B727 from Iran Air EP-IRP crashed shortly after my visit filming these flights.
I Love IRAN AIR .💙💙💙💙💙💙
Iran Air doesn't have the newest equipment, but they have very good pilots. You can see it at the last 727 nose gear up landing! Thumbs definitely up!
Comparing to B777 or A-380 it's just an expired plane. I was too harsh when i said crap but we need to accept that B727 should be on air museums.
I think these cockpits put much workload on the pilots, hence make their job much more enjoyable .....great!!! classic cockpit with HQ
@TalksWithDirt Unfortunately the US sanctions stops them from using modern aircraft and new spares for both Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
@bulukuda That is absolutely right. I believe captain Rahimian indeed is a 727 instructor with Iran Air.
great video the 727 is my favorite plane i took my first flight on a united 727 does the plane in the video still work is faa procedure pilot flying watchpanel and one not flying does comunacations and watch outside thankyou
surprisingly the cockpit is much more quit that the other modern airplanes!! maybe because of the engines location at the tail but comparing it with other tail engine airplanes, this is more quit.
DC-9, or MD-80´s too. Only the seats in the back are not so comfortable - they are noisy.
Not surprising at all, cockpits of tail-engined planes are quiet, the biggest noise is the wind at higher speeds.
they cut the video too soon, we didnt get to see the landing at the end. nice video. 727 was a slow aircraft on take off as u can see in this clip but its a workhorse of the boeing fleet
Show. Gostei muito.
Thanks for watching
727 still in action. I flew on them as a kid to Auckland and Sydney from Port Vila when Air Vanuatu had 1 back in the 90s. I wonder if any other airlines still fly them.
IRAN AIR
Superb video. I have been looking for some good Iran Air videos for a long time. Merci :)
That aircraft is 36 years old I believe. Iran Air is down to just two 727s now since flight #277 crashed at Urmia Airport killing 77 just a couple of months ago.
Professional pilots no matter where they are from!
Indeed James. Love 'em all
Does anyone know why the FO (clearly visbly if you look at the epaulettes) is seated on the left seat and the CPT is seated on the right one?!?
