This is the final and extremely rare episode of "Orson Welles' Sketchbook" in which he discusses his relationship with bullfighting. Originally Aired: July 03, 1955.
Wow couldn't take my eyes of him, the voice mesmerises you, could listen to him for hours, saw him as Rochester in Jane Eyre every man who has acted this part can't top Orson wells its the face & the voice it draws you in & holds you there.
I wonder about the Hippopotamus. They are fierce as can be. I don't think my question will ever be answered but I think an adult Hippo might indeed vanquish a fighting bull
"I'm not sure what to believe with Welles, ha! " "great story tho, but I kinda think ol Orson was taking a little break from one of his wine commercials to spin this yarn"
The best American storyteller ever lived.
It's great listening to Orson Welles tell uplifting stories.
There should be a complete Sketchbook Blu-ray set.

Orson Wells an American genius artist. We miss you and the world is a lesser place without you.
Bravo Mr Welles, marvelous storyteller. There will never be as great a dramatist or conveyor of magic as you.
The Little Bull is a very moving film. Especially if you're a kid watching it. An ending as great as they get.
Mesmerizing series. Fantastic channel. Bravo! Bravo!
Orson Bean, Gore Vidal, Truman Capote, he and others; today, there is a dearth of elegant raconteurs and a far emptier world for it.
A beautiful story.. told by the greatest teller.
Orson later changed his views on bullfighting in his later life :)
OMG...what a story...what a storyteller...
Good timing with the final one. I'm downloading these to watch on the bus
For surely there is no sight in this world more beautiful than a lone man, fighting single handedly, a half a ton of angry pot roast.
I know this from when I was a child; from a book. I can see illustrations faintly in my memory.
Loved this story even more than the one of Ferdinand that I read as a child. 🙏
He is intriguing.
A folk tale or a true story? It really doesn’t matter all that much for when Orson Wells tells a story, it is fascinating whatever it’s outcome.
I wonder about the Hippopotamus. They are fierce as can be.
I don't think my question will ever be answered but I think
an adult Hippo might
indeed vanquish a fighting bull
Wow wow what a voice.
Thank you
❤❤❤
I feel like he planned it out to say that a bullfight takes 15 min, and the story told took almost exactly 15 to tell.
Wow so cool.
Nice story... olé
Kiitos
Orson said about bull fighting in a different interview that it had become to folklorist.

Welles didn't need to fight any bulls, he'd simply talk to the beast, enthrall it, calm it down.
Bulls listened to Welles.
Man's cruel to All , even a bull destined to its own senseless loss ! .,
Humans are the most dangerous animal
This is Ferdinand the animated movie. 🙂
The title of this segment should be Episode 6: Bullshiting
The bull has n chance ,it's cold blood// killing of a ,predetermined , innocent animal ...Cruelty ; Disgusting ! .
A bull is the baddest animal on Earth? Come on Orson.
@@Matt_19-89 You are as full of yourself as Orson. He´s just telling a tale. But you bought it completely.
@@Matt_19-89 I don´t read all your comments, I saw this one and commented below. It's very likely you are three years old. ;)
i can't tell which stories are real and which ones are exagerated/made up lol
