UwU ❤ hermoso
Why do you need to colour everything grey first?? Please answer everyone is doing this and i don't know why ú.ù💖💖💖
I'm not 100% sure if this is the reason why, but I think it's to make sure no colors go a bit outside the lineart. Like, if you're using a light color or something against a white background, it would be hard to see if some of the coloring went out of the lines. The same can apply for the bucket tool; sometimes if you fill something in, the edges may still be a bit pixelated and not fully colored. Speaking from personal experience, coloring outside the lines and not noticing can ruin the art a bit when you move on.
I'm not the best at understanding or explaining things but hope this helped ;w;
Edit: I did more research, and sometimes artists color the character only in grey, and the coloring above is all clipped to the grey layer (clipped as in the clipped layer setting, also known as clipping mask) so the artist doesn't color outside the character lineart.
hii, did you use perspective ruler on the bg?
