I'm so sorry you are going through this, but you are still a teacher and you aren't letting anyone down. Just a thought, but you can still help through UA-cam. Right now you help newer teachers like me help students. This change just means you will have more time to share teaching ideas.
I've been worried since you hadn't posted in quite some time and I was so excited to see that you were back but I'm so saddened to see that your RA has gotten to a point where you'll no longer be able to teach. Just because you're not actually in a classroom anymore doesn't mean you're still not a teacher at heart and I know there's tons of things you can teach all of us - your UA-cam students! Sending you good thoughts and prayers Tina. I can't wait to see what's in store!
I am so happy to hear from you. I really hope your health improves. I would watch your vidoes if you were just painting walls. Stay positive we are here for you.
I would be interesting in seeing videos about life with a chronic illness. Videos like that, how you practice self care, how to advocate for yourself when dealing with doctors, how to be a friend to someone with chronic illness etc.
I've been thinking about you so much this school year. I cried watching this because I feel like I know how much you love teaching. You are so strong for sharing this and I pray you feel better and find peace in retired life. I'll still watch your videos because I do enjoy your organizing and family life style videos in addition to your teaching vlogs. Your health comes first and I completely understand you having to leave the profession. I wish you well and than you for the update.
Dear Tina, Watching this video from 3 years ago and would love a life update about your chronic illness etc. I’ve recently been diagnosed with MS and can connect with you on many things you mention. I know you’ve lost weight (I have as well) and would love to hear about your life now. All the best!
Hi Tina, bless you!! It is so hard when you feel like you are losing your identity. I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year at this time and have been off work for the best part of the last 12 months with some massive surgeries and treatments. I sympathise with you, when your passion and life is all about teaching children and it feels like it is snatched from you, it leaves you broken. hang in there. I'll still be following your videos.. I love listening to you. Remember... You are Enough
You will ALWAYS be a teacher! 😀 I have been watching your videos for a while, and I have learned so much from you, from being an effective teacher to being dedicated to your students. I am now certified to teach elementary school (I have a Temporary Certificate in Elementary Education K-6). I will continue to press on towards getting my professional license in the same area. I will continue to pray much for you; I am sorry to see you retiring from teaching, but to you must take care of you and your well-being. May God continue to bless you and your family.
😢 about you leaving teaching. I left in December after 20 years in education, but I decided to concentrate to my battle with cancer. Currently cancer free. Miss the kids, but I won’t ever go back into the classroom.
God Bless you Mary... I'm sure you already made a big difference in the lives of many, so THANK YOU FOR YOUR 20 YEARS OF SERVICE! Will keep you in my prayers so that you remain FREE AND HEALTHY!
There is so much more to your identity! I’ve learned concepts like Hygee from you that has changed my life and home. Sorry to hear that you’re going through these health concerns xx
Thank you for catching us up. Even if you’re not in the classroom anymore, your teaching will continue to be influential through others like myself who have been inspired by you. I’ll be happy to watch videos of home life, hauls, organization etc. Or whatever you choose to share.
I am watching this in tears and am only at 7:09. Like you, I have rheumatoid arthritis and am an elementary school teacher. I am in my 18th year of teaching but am single so have no other income but mine. I cannot afford to stop working, which my rheumatologist has suggested. The pain has been so bad this year that I come home each day, put my pajamas on, sometimes eat a little something, and go to bed even if that's at 4:40 in the afternoon. I am no longer the teacher I once was... just do not have the strength/energy anymore. I am so glad you are about to make the decision I think you are. YES! Please share day in the life type videos. Can't wait to see what you have in store. Take care of you and hope your RA goes back into remission. Sending love and healing thoughts your way!
I am so sorry to hear that you are also suffering. Like you, income was a factor in my decision. I have applied for Disability Retirement. I will receive a partial pension and health insurance until I reach the age of full retirement, and then my full pension will kick in. Also, I have applied for long term disability and SSI. I have not received work on either of those things yet. Speak with your doctors. They may be able to help you navigate the long process.
Much love to you from one teacher to another. I will miss your teacher vlogs but look forward to seeing where your new journey takes you. Any videos you make will be great. It’s your personality and drive that draw us viewers. God Bless you. Take care of yourself. Sending prayers your way.
Sending sooooo much love!!! Thank you for everything you have unknowingly given me!!! I feel like you are my friend ... I was moved to tears as I watched your video!!
Praying for you, Tina! I shed tears as I watched this because I know how you feel, hope you feel better soon! Whatever you do, we will continue to watch.. it’s your personality and you as a person what keeps us coming back!
I would love to see videos on home organization. Your classroom organization videos were the first that I watched on your channel and I love to learn organizational skills from you. In terms of what you have survived this year, wow! You are super strong. Though I know you are sad about retirement, think of all of the lives you were able to impact through your teaching career. What a gift you were to that community! Now you can explore other passions, some adjacent to teaching and some not. My mom was laid off from her teaching job after 35 years of teaching at a private school and never got to officially retire. It took her a while to reconcile with her new identity as a former teacher, but she now is exploring selling jewellery and gardening. I think she's more relaxed and happier for it.You aren't letting anyone who cares about you down. They will survive. You just work on living your best life.
Thanks for sharing this Tina! I'm so sorry you had to leave teaching. It was very apparent from your videos how much you loved it. Can you tutor online? Videos for students becoming teachers (my daughter starts her senior year next fall in elementary ed). Also, I pray your RA goes into remission. I have watched my niece struggle with RA since she was six years old (she just turned 40). It has always amazed me how she takes the pain in stride, but like you said it becomes "the norm". Pray you are able to enjoy the spring and summer and look forward to upcoming videos.
How about an office job with your district? I know I would be devastated if I had to leave the classroom so suddenly. Maybe you could still help your students by consulting or helping with special education services, etc.
Thank you for opening up and sharing. I really missed your videos! I’m so sorry all of this is going on!! You are incredibly strong 💗 I’m praying for you, your family, and your health!!
Take the channel on whatever direction you choose. Would love to see plan with me and recipe videos and a cleaning schedule! How do you always look so put together?
Sending so much love! I would follow your channel if you based it on making homemade manure. We follow YOU because of who you are, not because of the content. Keeping you in my thoughts and can't wait to see where your new chapter brings you!!!!
So sorry for you. Wishing you better healthy life. I've been on sabbatical this yr. I have ra, oa, fibro & first grade teacher. I would love for you to do done kind of helpful advice on your illness.thank you
Tina, my heart goes out to you. Thank you for sharing your story and I hope you are able to rest up and have less pain. I look forward to whatever content you decide to share with us education-related or not. I pray that you go back into remission and are able to have less pain.
I always enjoyed watching your meal prep and grocery shopping videos. I would also love to see some home organization and cleaning. I will pray for you through this transition of life. Take care of yourself.
You are an inspiration. My mom has RA and I see what she goes thru at age 72. God bless you. I have always loved your life videos the most. You are real, honest and have some great finds that I now use (pumpkin butter from WS, hot cocoa from WS, lean cuisines, etc...). You could also add in some tips and tricks for RA... cook with me... you are an amazing person and have so much to give! I know teaching is a huge part of us as teachers but this new chapter is starting for a reason- seize the moments and days! I am praying for you and happy you are back! Love from a Michigan girl in Florida!
I wish you the best. You were one of the first teacher tuber I watched as I was getting ready to start my own channel. Take care of yourself. You’re in my thoughts.
Tina, so sorry to hear that life has thrown this at you. Waiting and figuring out the next step is the hardest. You will discover your path. This is a change in seasons for you and your family and you will all be better for it. Blessings come in all things. Continue to look at the good in each day. Thank you for opening up. In the month of March I started having tingling in my fingers that also spread to my lips and tongue. 2 hospital visits, 2 neurologist visits, and 2 visits to my primary doctor; I am being referred to a urologist for an unrelated condition. I have been tested for MS and opted not to have the spinal tap and wait until September to do another MRI to see if the abnormalities found in March change in any way. I look forward to watching you on your new adventure. You have inspired folks with your classroom videos. And maybe the point was for you to build up this following to inspire others now as you move down this new path. Whatever is in store for you and your channel, I will be following. Take care! Kathryn
Thanks for sharing. I pray that your health allows you to enjoy many, many years of life. Wishing your new journey will bring all you want and need to enjoy life outside of the classroom. Thanks for all you did in the classroom.
I’m glad you are taking care of you. You are still an educator and always will be; there will be other ways for you to manifest that calling. Now is time for you to care for yourself and your family. I don’t just speak from a place of encouragement, but empathy from being there. There is truly a happily ever after. I pray a blessing of health and peace for you.
Tina darling my thoughts and love and prayers are with you sweetie. Keep the channel going with any thing and everything you want to every day stuff - use it as a release for you!
Thank you for this video. We have a bunch of life changes here as well. My daughter has ra at age 28. We opened up a eBay store and now she works when she feels better and still makes good money. There is another lady o. UA-cam that does the same thing. I know another one that creates homeschool teaching ideas and sells them on line. My sister has RA really bad she just turned 50.she started to buy Rentals and has a company manage them. It is so bad she is getting ready to retire. She is by her self since she lot her husband 4 years ago. You can do this.
Dear Tina, I wanted to share with you why I love youtube channel: Because spending time with you is like having a cup of tea in a flower garden . I have watched all your videos over the past year (most multiple times). I came to youtube wanting to find ideas to give my classroom life. That is how I found your channel. Through your channel you inspired me and gave me ideas how I could feed my soul through my teaching. I am a physics teacher and my personality is very black-and-white, minimalist and austere. Your vides opened up to me “soul food” through the beauty of our teacher desk and your washi tape, the beauty of your home organization, the beauty of your planner, your “project me” and even your make up routines …You enriched my life with washi tape, the pink “keep cup”, flower chair cover, post-it cat figure pop-up note dispenser and the Rbenxia Gell Ink Cartoon Pin Type pens…all of these I added to my classroom and they have made this year wonderful for me; I am so grateful. So, I just want you to know that whatever videos you make, I will look forward to watching because in all of them comes our your very loving and fun personality. Tina, you have so joy and creativity in you, and I am so thankful that you are sharing with us this next chapter in your life. Love in Christ, Elena from sunny Santa Cruz, California
I've loved watching your videos for years and have learned a lot from you but I think that I might be able to share something that has changed my life and can maybe help you get back into the community at some point. My Goodwill teaches basically job readiness skills like customer service, computer skills, entrepreneurship skills, and so much more and I know many other regions do the same thing. If you want to fulfill that teacher heart of yours, that might be a low risk avenue to persue at some time. Regardless of what happens, we your subscribers will ALWAYS be here for your videos and for you because we're not subscribed for your lesson plans or to figure out how to arrange desks (though those are lovely additions) we're here because to us, you're like family. We look forward to seeing you ever week or so but we know you need to be at your best before you can give. Be safe and know that we all love and miss you
So glad to hear from you!!! I’m excited for the changes coming to your channel. I’m sorry you’ve had a rough few months. Keep your head up!!! Prayers and good vibes your way!!!
Hi, Tina! I am so sorry to hear your news. I completely agree with what you said about teaching being a vocation, a calling. It must be so hard to retire this way - I wish you all the best! I've been following your channel for a few years and have loved anything you posted. I will continue to love anything you post! If you are looking for more ideas - I loved the videos you did a long time ago on your favorite books to read in the fall. You shared some great books to read and your love and excitement to share the books with your class was inspiring! Good luck on your surgery!
I cried and had my eyes open as I watched this. I am also a teacher with RA . I’m in my worst flare at the present time. I know every year I’m playing with Fire when it comes to my immune system. It’s so hard to think about not teaching, but health wise it would be the better choice. I know if I don’t change, I won’t be around I see my grandchildren. You are not alone- keep us up to date with how you are!
So sorry to hear that...but yes... Health first....I love your videos so whatever you decide to do...I will continue waiting on your videos... you're greatly missed...many blessings! 😍😘🤗
Tina, I am so sorry you are going through this. You are such a tough cookie, smart, generous and kind. You have made such a difference to all your students, your family and your UA-cam gang. You have so much knowledge and passion for teaching and can see you don’t want to ‘end’ teaching. Would you love to run conferences, UA-cam how tos with teaching, teacher hacks, creating TpT products etc? Even styling classrooms? My heart is going out to you xxx You are such an inspiration to this teacher/mum/wife. All the very very best for your management of this disease x
I will continue to watch. I enjoy watching "Stay at Home Mom" videos such as: organizing, shop with me, and monthly favorites. I think you would be great at just focusing your channel on those type videos. Also, I teach an adult ladies Bible class once a week, so you might want to think about volunteer teaching of something you are interested in or good at. There are lots of opportunities out there to use your talents and skills, but take some time for yourself first. I agree with the others, once a teacher always a teacher. So glad you're back!
One video that I would LOVE to see is you sorting through all your teaching supplies. It's no secret most of the stuff in your classroom is your personal property, so I'd be very interested to see what you are going to do with all that now that you are no longer teaching.
Tina--I am sending you love & light. You could tutor for fun so you still get time with kiddos. I would love to see those videos you have mentioned. We are so happy you are back! :)
Glad you’re taking care of your health. You don’t have to have everything figured out right now. And your channel will take form as you post content. Keep your head up.
Thank you for sharing Tina. Best wishes on your health. I was told as I left training college by a lecturer I loved, always remember you are not indispensable. Being a Mum is your most important job and your boys need you with them for as long as possible. Perhaps you could do some TPT resources, just a thought if you felt like it. With talk to text software this may help you. Time for a new normal. Once you are not teaching you will notice how much money you don't need, you cut the cloth. Best of best wishes.
I’m so sorry to hear about your health. You are so strong and so admired. I’ve always enjoyed your classroom videos but I will continue to enjoy whatever it is that you post!
I completely feel for you. I have auto-immune issues as well and it's tough with the demands of a teaching career. You are doing the right thing. You need to take care of you and get yourself into a good place, health wise. You will continue to have support from your followers. We LOVE you! Whatever you do, we will be there following your journey. You will find an outlet for your teaching passion! Prayers for health and peace. Love and hugs!
So sorry to hear this! I would love to see beginning teacher advice/tips etc. I am a 19 year old first year student teacher from new zealand and have loved your content. Will continue to watch whatever you venture into next xx
You are an awesome person and a great mentor for many of us new teachers. I'm sorry this happened to you. I will pray that your health will improve. Even if you make videos giving us updates of your health, I would still watch. I do like the idea of decluttering your home. I am in the process of moving, so that will help me a lot. I need ideas on decorating a decluttered home...lol. I can see your bedroom background and already loving it!
Tina, i am so sorry stay strong. you got this! Don't worry I will still be watching your video's. i love your sence of humor and your positive attitude.
I feel sorry for you and I hope things will turn out good for you! I'm 30 and an elementary school teacher, too ... and I also have RA ... so this video makes me kind of scared, too .. Love
Tina, my mom has severe RA and she is in her 80s. She has limited mobility, but gets around with assistance. You can survive this!!! Keeping you in my prayers. 💕
Hi Tina, I’m so sorry to hear this and feel for you! We will definitely miss your classroom videos! But I would love to still see your channel as a Mum vlogger!!!! Them ideas are great
So happy to have heard from you. I just wanted to say that when you ARE a teacher, you are always a teacher. There are many ways that you can help new teachers and also us old ones through UA-cam. Perhaps you can create materials for classroom teachers and put them up on tpt. You have so many good ideas and a wealth of knowledge. Please see the comments below. Above all, please do what is good for you. I also want to encourage you with your RA. I am 60 and have Lupus and still here. Please be well.
Tina I loved your project me and home vlogs in the summer so I hope to see more along this line. I enjoy watching a channel called Shelley's home life, she is a lovely lady and reminds me of you in some ways. I've just left teaching in England after 18 years and it is a hard adjustment to not think of yourself as a teacher, as it's not just a job it becomes an identity.
Tina, thank you for always speaking your truth - it encourages others to do the same! Looking forward to following along for this next chapter in your life. Now is the time to focus on your healing journey.
So sorry to hear about these events. I really hope you get better. My mom is a teacher with RA but hers is relatively minor comparatively. However her extreme exhaustion is making it really difficult for her to continue. She’s also looking into an early retirement at the age of 55.. I hope you get better and that you are at peace with your decision. If you still want to get the feel for teaching, you can look into tutoring part time. I do it part time and it’s so rewarding to work 1:1. Looking forward to your new content!
I was so happy to see a new video from you, I have missed you!!! Im sorry about you having to retire from teaching. However, I look forward to what God has in store for you. May god bless you on your next journey in life. Also, looking forward to your new channel!!
Tina, I'm so excited for you and the new chapter you're embarking on! I'm sorry to hear about your health issues but I believe you're doing the right thing in making your well-being a priority. I look forward to your new videos... especially the hauls! Another type of video to considering doing would be cooking videos. I still have that video you made from Christmas (I think it was the year before last) with the pinwheels and meatballs you made bookmarked. Best of luck on your upcoming procedure. The best is yet to come! Nicole
You are such a strong and calm woman. Thanks for sharing. One of my favourites from you was the autumn night at home video. I think you'll be a great mom/lifestyle vlogger. Take care of you, Tina!
I've watched you for about two years on UA-cam and your posts always made me want to be a better teacher, momma, wife - the whole enchilada!!! I've been teaching for 22 years and still love what I do. You hit the nail on the head when you described our career as a vocation. For some of us, it certainly is!!! I will miss watching you each August plan out with excitement the theme and decor in your classroom. Yes, there are some young whipper snappers out there vlogging their classrooms daily details, but I loved watching you as a veteran. I loved when you had book recommendations. I could go on and on... I am so glad you have a GOOD doctor. God bless him!! So many people think we sit on our bum all day. Our job is hard and it has become harder and more stressful over the years. As a rookie teacher, I had two veterans teach me the ropes. They have both retired in the past five years. My sweet Kathi was off her game. Many of us covered for her etc... it turns out she had a a stroke and Marianne has had to move in with her daughter. She was diagnosing with Alzheimer's. It just breaks my heart. This job isn't easy. It takes a toll. This is my 23rd year and I am tired. In Florida, we need to teach 30 years for retirement and 35 for GOOD retirement. I understand you weren't ready, but you left on a high note. When I lock my classroom door for the last time, I hope I am leaving on a high note. Yknow... some teacher just seem to babysit the last few years. I don't want that for me and I know you wouldn't have done that either. With all of this said, I am so glad you made the tough decision to take care of yourself. Please keep posting vlogs of your daily routines, keep us updated on your health. and your sweet family, but most of all start some Pinterest projects. Much love and prayers, L
I’m so sorry to hear this. Retiring is hard enough but abruptly retiring due to major health issues is a more severe blow to the soul. Fellow teacher here. Also working within CPS since I was nineteen (18 years thus far, 10 officially teaching). Also dealing with chronic yet unexplained pain since I was 18. Grieve. Grieve for this loss and acceptance will come when it needs to. I would watch you watching TV if you posted it. Once a teacher, always a teacher. All those years of experience will continue to educate us. You’re a wealth of knowledge. You’ve taught me so much more than teaching related items. You are cared for. You are admired. Take your time. This is life tugging at you telling you to slow it down. Nothing is more important than your health. Wishing you well. Sending you big hugs. Ask for help when you need it. You’re a nurturer but it’s your time to be nurtured and cared for. We will be here. Big huge hugs from Chicago. Keep us updated.
So glad to see you back. Praying you go into remission and your "new" adventure fills the loss of teaching in your heart & soul. Perhaps you can still create lesson planning & stuff for other teachers and make some income in doing so. I look forward to your "home" videos. Missed you while you were gone. Mary
You are a super great teacher. All the persons need to take importante decisions, and you do it. You are taking the time to care of you and your health, and it is soooo brave. You are enough Tina, remeber??? I send you many ligth and love from here. I'm waiting for your new home videos (we love home videos too). Many kisses for you!!!!
I love your other videos and I'm not even a mum. I've just finished my first year of teaching in the UK and your videos were my inspiration when I set up my classroom. I hope you feel better soon!
Oh my. I am so sorry for this loss. Hoping to see more videos on different topics. Take care of your health! At the end of the day, that's going to serve your family the best.
I am praying for you. You have helped me so much as a new teacher. Teaching is a calling for me as well, but you have to take care of your self. You will find your way. I will always think of you when I set my classroom. I will be following you always.
Oh Tina this made me cry. Your positivity is inspiring. I hope you have a beautiful happily ever after as you find a new normal away from teaching. Your health and your family is important.
Hi Tina : Thank you for sharing what must be very difficult to talk about. Please know you are loved and appreciated for WHO you are not just WHAT you are. You have welcomed us into your life and shared so much that I feel like we could be friends! I look forward to what you will continue to share and I will certainly keep you and your family in my prayers. Know that what you share reaches much deeper than teaching but touches hearts and souls, because you share yours with everyone lucky enough to find your posts! God bless you! Lynn
Sorry to hear that Tina. You're such an amazing person with so much classroom experience that sit down videos sharing your knowledge and experiences would be so useful to many. I work in London UK and have shared your daily 5 vs guided reading video with my headteacher. So never stop. I also enjoy your day to day videos with the family etc. Keep positive and stay strong. X
Thank you for sharing, Tina. It is hard to leave your job that you love. I get it. I retired… I miss the socialization but it was time. I think moving forward with your new channel will be fun and there’s a lot to talk about and see in just checking in. Good luck moving forward, you’ll be great .
I'm so sorry you're going through this! But just know I LOVE your lifestyle videos as well as your teaching. I will watch your channel no matter what! ☺️
I'm so sorry you are going through this, but you are still a teacher and you aren't letting anyone down. Just a thought, but you can still help through UA-cam. Right now you help newer teachers like me help students. This change just means you will have more time to share teaching ideas.

I am so happy to hear from you. I really hope your health improves. I would watch your vidoes if you were just painting walls. Stay positive we are here for you.
Thanks for sharing Tina; I know these changes must be tough. Please keep us updated on your health if you can :)

Watching this video from 3 years ago and would love a life update about your chronic illness etc. I’ve recently been diagnosed with MS and can connect with you on many things you mention. I know you’ve lost weight (I have as well) and would love to hear about your life now.

Take care of yourself. Your family needs you. Prayers for healing.
Praying for you! God is sovereign and I pray he gives you so much peace and joy! Keep going! God can do anything I’m praying for you!!!
You are an amazing woman! I'm so sorry that you have been going through this. You are so talented that you will find your footing.
Best wishes! I’m currently in process of being tested for RA, waiting for results. I’m a teacher too.
Dear Tina,
I wanted to share with you why I love youtube channel: Because spending time with you is like having a cup of tea in a flower garden .
Love in Christ,
Elena from sunny Santa Cruz, California
Be safe and know that we all love and miss you
Thank you for being so open. I will be praying for you and your family.
I can't wait to see what you will do with this new direction you're taking this channel. I'll be praying for ya!!
‘If Im not a teacher , who am I? ‘ So poweful. You can still be a teacher to all of us on UA-cam. You have so much to offer.
Missed you!! Hope you come back soon!
Thanks so much for all you've done and shared. "Just a thought, would you consider a Q&A of ideas tips organizationall skills?"
Thanks for your honnesty and the great example that you give. You are more than a teacher. You're a beautiful person.
Prayers!! I love your posts!! You are an inspiration!
Thank you for sharing Tina; feel better soon!
Hope you the best, many blessings and may Good continues guide you to fulfill a wonderful life.
Tina, I prayed for you. I asked God to bless you with a long and healthy life.
Tina,
i am so sorry stay strong. you got this!
Them ideas are great
I think your ideas for your channel sound great! I am praying for you and your family.
Praying for you... really missed your videos... looking forward to this next chapter
Best wishes Tina. I'm sorry to hear your news, but hope you can find some joy in this new chapter in life. We'll be with you along the way, too.
Praying for you and wishing you all the best.
My thoughts are with you!
Many big hugs!
Tina you are so sweet!! I hope things go well for you.
You are not alone :) thanks for everything.
Tina, keep sharing your story. I am sure you will continue to be a blessing to others. Praying for you.
Im a fairly new subscriber and have really enjoyed your uploads. I wish you all the best and admire you for sharing xx
Tina, you're amazing. Thank you for your honesty. I'll be thinking of you, and praying for you.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you Tina! I’m so sorry about this!! I hope you get better! Thanks for sharing! I’ll remember you in my prayers
Can you do a day in the life of a mom if you can
Oh Tina this made me cry.
You are such a strong person, Tina! I’m sorry that you have to go through so much. You’re in my thoughts.
