- During the 2018 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este I filmed the car that has won “Most Beautiful Concept Car of the Year” at the 33rd Festival Automobile International; the Mazda Vision Coupé Concept. Video shows some detailed shots of it as well as the car starting up, moving around and then being loaded on a truck! Mazda hasn't released engine specs, but as you can hear in this video, the car sounds like it has a 4-Cylinder under the hood!

It is because Mazda is not Ferrari to build cars that don't last you more than 20 000 km w/o a 50 000 dollars bill. The Mazda cars are premium enough for the market as they are. If they build something similar, they will not attract more people. Mazda 3, 6, CX-3 and CX-5 are selling like crazy here in Romania. They do a great job selling their cars and it's no point into building a car similar to this one for the public to buy. It just reflects the vision they have and a direction in terms of design.
*Indeed, Mazda has made several failed attempts to move their product line up-scale like Toyota did with Lexus.... because Mazda has made its reputation selling cheap, entry level cars aimed at first time buyers and that offer good value for price.... Buyers simply don't see Mazda as a prestige marque.*

You can't really design any good looking car that does not remind a bit at least one Alfa prototype/product. If You visit the Alfa museum you will see that clearly... Unfortunately, the most beautiful designs never went into production, because of marketing denials...

The RX-Vision Concept isn't shown in this video, but it's the concept car that they want to have with the rotary engine (Hence the RX part of the name). The car shown in the video was made after the RX-Vision Concept and has their new Mazda SKYACTIV-X engine inside it, which explains why it's able to actually drive in the video.
(I meant to call it the Concept, not Coupe)
the rx vision was in villa d'Este two years ago or so, but it didn't move. It is most likely that it doesn't even really have an engine in it ...

In line 3.0 L 6 designed with money from Toyota. Toyota will be using this i6 for upcoming new Lexus.

This could be a thing lacking in this car. It would be logical that Toyota/Mazda, are using a refined version of the Eisin 10 speed already working on the LC. Fast, precise, not jolting through gears and extremely long lasting, it also helps the car to acclerate faster and helps with low fuel consumption.

This concept car proofs that Mazda is a serious candidate to become a premium competitor, they got the design, they got the looks! so, they only need to work on their engines so they can be more efficient and faster and then, they will compete with BMW (Current Mercedes-Benz car designs resembles to much like an insect I just think they look kind of crappy or something ugly to me, just saying) but this Vision it something serious! Mazda: you guys definitely must produce something reeeally close to this design! Will be a total success!

They actually have specifically said that they keep working on a rotary that can meet standards but so far they can't put it in any car.

With the first of the RWD Mazdas being revealed (the CX-60), it only makes me more psyched for the new I6 powered RWD Mazda 6 possibly coming next year.
I would like to see Mazda enter the premium market. They don't really have a luxury brand but their cars always feel upmarket. I think Mazda could do really well
