Only a slight overdrive and delay for the solo. An Ibanez TS808. Delay was from the computer.

No effects! Both guitars are connected straight to a VOXAC15VR. Added a little bit of reverb, that´s all.

It is more or less like you describe it! I don´t really think about the exact strumming pattern. Just make sure to emphasise the percussive character.
