- Things are hotting up in Holly! We're coming to the final stages of the DIY renovation with some major wins this week.

For those of you just joining us, welcome! We're Vic and Jo and we've been narrowboating around the UK for the last few years on our 54ft narrowboat Zero. Last year we decided to give up our jobs in the city and add another boat to our fleet in hope of turning it into a travelling cafe and becoming full time boating baristas.
We're DIY novices so taking on this narrowboat self build has been quite the challenge, subscribe and make sure you don’t miss series 2 where we’ll be blundering our way through starting a business!

Hope this doesn't come across as glib as it sounds, but, 'It has been a thin slice of heaven', watching you two mad folk, get hold of a boat, turn your dreams into reality, and produce your first non-drinkable espresso. What a feeling that must of been for you both. If there is a more deserving pair for success right now, I'd love to meet them.
It has been a joy to watch. series 1 done and dusted.
Enjoy the rest of the time building and finishing, whilst not having the pressure of filming, relax a little over Christmas, January can not come quick enough for me.

Oh no, please don't leave us for too long. I have to admit, this latest vlog brought a tear or few to my eyes. We're gonna miss you Jo and Vic. Hi. Thank you for Series One; we shall look-forward to Series Two. I think your taking a break is very sensible. Many You-Tubers burn-out so quickly, then give-up. Have a rest over Crimble and, if you cannot do that, have a boat-working session, or several, away from our view, as we sit around simply waiting to watch others work. We do hope you have great success in post-Covid 2021 and would love to buy coffees (and a dog ice-cream) from you and your boat, howsoever you made the coffee (integral tank excepted).
You should know that your videography (performing, shooting, voicing, editing) has been excellent and most enjoyable - have a virtual YT'ers Award for best newbies. We have also appreciated your good humour - both in terms of wit and perseverance. And, not least, your intelligence - which comes-across very strongly. Apart from all that we hated your vids - nowt to recommend them! :) As a complete aside, we think Jo said she was from Derbyshire in the landed episode, not sure about Vic. But if one or both of you are from there, greetings from two fellow Derbians; if not, greetings anyway. A very peaceful Crimble and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year to you both and, again, thank you.
I just noticed the doors on the bow have standard Philips type brass screws, Considering the need for added security please consider fitting security screws as once fitted they can't be undone.
Screwfix should have them.
Otherwise all your security can be undone with a single screwdriver.

You should be both be really proud of yourselves , the way you have adapted around so many skills to complete the project. Loved the faux coffee scene and the review, anybody who has ever built or renovated a long term project will understand your comment about picturing the moment of finishing. I've binge watched season 1 for the past few weeks. Being a former barista and video editor for TV, this truly has been a happy place for me in these dark times. Nice montage at the end, and I can't wait to start watching series 2.

I am enjoying you from Alabama in the USA. You two are just the most precious young couple afloat! I hate to not see you for the next couple of months, so I will just have to back up and start over watching your channel again. He knows and experiments with coffee grinds, pouring rates, you name it, he does it. You want a V60 filter ?

Hello Vic & Jo. We have been watchuing all your episodes from the start over the past few days and we have subscribed because we want to come along for the ride, as you are always commenting on. You are a great young couple with a great idea and to think that you have brought Holly from a rusting wreck into this beautful floating cafe boat is a credit to you both. Your d.i.y. skills are second to none and lots of thought has gone into you plans. We will definately pay you a visit if you are ever in our area of Tamworth for some cakes and coffee. It's been a very interesting journey both the build of Holly and to see what has happened in the UK during the pandemic. I live in Australia and watching your videos reminds me of the times I visited England. Now 76 I am still up for a trip when this whole disaster has run its course and would love to have a coffee on the bank of a canal somewhere with you. Best wishes Ric
I have been binge watching. I know I shouldn't have to say this in 2021 but I love the way Jo gets stuck in and does some serious DIY. It should be something people share. :) Keep the series going. You are offering something different and fresh.

Just finished watching the transformation of Holly. We realised it would take more than a week (max) and it did. Very impressed by your sticking power and resilience as the going got tough. Absolutely well done you two. I am guessing that after this episode you slept for a week or so. Now to continue working our way through the back episodes watching the Cafe in operation.

Hi. First, THANK YOU for season 1 of Holly The Café Boat and CONGRATULATIONS on the milestone of making the first coffee! You should very very proud of all you accomplished - especially during these crazy times.
I live close to Toronto in Canada. The whole narrow boat concept and lifestyle is unusual and new to me so it was very interesting to see this and learn about it - I’m very enamored by it. Also, I have a small cottage in the woods by a lake and therefore I’m also a DIYer so it was interesting watching everything you did during your renovations - again, you should be proud of the work you did. Your videos are interesting and very entertaining - you both have a great sensor of humour and made me laugh often.
Good luck with the activities you have planned over the next couple months and I’m really looking forward to Season 2!!!

I owned a small coffee shop in the middle of America. It’s a great life, and your gonna have a wonderful experience. I’m hoping to rent a narrowboat for a couple months next fall. I will come for a cup if I make it! Look forward to seeing next years progress. Good luck!
