SOUTH LINE TRAINS SOUTH AUSTRALIA - MIXTURE OF GRAIN & INTERMODAL SERVICES

Heavy Intermodals operated by Pacific National & SCT Logistics feature plus two shots of Aurizon's empty 1283s Grain Train on the South line between Tintinara and Wolseley in Eastern South Australia! It's January 21st, 2023, and it's a big morning on the South line with some services operating late, some right on time and others Adhoc as required. Later in the day, across the border as we headed for Bendigo, we captured a bonus Broad Gauge Pacific National Grain Train 9148 at Korong Vale on the Sea Lake line.

Train Details:
First thing in the morning, Pacific National Superfreighter 6MP5 powers by Coombe, with locomotives NR66/NR54/NR104 bound for Adelaide & Perth from Melbourne.
Aurizon's empty Grain Train 1283s heads east with five locomotives all consisting of different decals/liveries. Railfirst locomotive CM3308 lead One Rail Australia liveried ALF20, Aurizon liveried ALF23, GWA liveried CLF6 and GWB101 with recently added Aurizon decals on a GWA Orange/Black livery. The service is bound for Wolseley near the border of South Australia and Victoria and will drop hoppers at the next siding of Keith for loading.
Pacific National Express Freight 7MP7 rockets through Keith past the Aurizon Grain Train, which is dropped wagons at the siding. Triple Pacific National liveried NRs of 65/120/93 lead the service, which operates from Melbourne to Perth with limited stopping along the way.
SCT Logistics Intermodal 7AM9 rounds the curve between Bordertown and Wolseley, with almost an almost all container/steel consist led by SCT003/CSR005/CSR001. This service is bound for Melbourne from Adelaide and is one of only two weekly dedicated services between the two cities operating on days no Perth to Melbourne services operate.
A second shot of 1283s is captured near its regional loading destination of Wolseley, with CM3308/ALF20/ALF23/CLF6/GWB101 leading a shorter Grain Train after wagons were dropped at Keith. Once loading is complete, which takes around 6 hours, the train will return to Adelaide for unloading as 2184s.
After our spotting in Eastern South Australia, we headed for Bendigo, but to our surprise, we ran into a bonus train for the day at Korong Vale! Broad Gauge loaded Grain Service 9148, operated by Pacific National, passes through the Junction of the Sealake and Manangatang lines with locomotives G529/XR553/XR550.
