      Old Griz ...yeah, it was
      clear what you were saying :)
      As Connor explained, though, you’re maybe being a tad sensitive, which maybe causing a slight misunderstanding... the comment came from someone who has been woodworking for many decades, and was for someone who is quite young, (at least by comparison to the commenter) and so obviously hasn’t had the opportunity to yet have the amount of experience that (generally speaking) master craftsmen are expected to have.
      What I’m saying is, you might be seeing the “will be” as meaning “isn’t already” without taking into account that this is a comment from someone with many decades of experience (and which refers to said experience) said to a young, up-and-coming craftsman with obvious talent, drive, skill, etc. He’s not saying “well done, but you’re not great yet” ...he’s saying “well done - just think of the level you’ll reach with the experience you’ll have years from now”.
      It was entirely, 100% a compliment.

    • @OldGriz708
      @OldGriz708 4 роки тому +1

      @Melinda Reeder
      Reading the comments first is obviously too much to ask of people before they start running their opinions up the flag pole 🙄
      If you had taken time to do that you would have seen where I explained that my comment "will be"? was meant to say he already is at that point.

    Great job bud! Good to see guys like you doing stuff like this instead of sitting on your Xbox all day 👍 As a little tip, you probably don’t want to sand the wood up to 1000 grit before you add any finish/oil as you’re giving the finish less to adhere or chemically bond to. Better to sand the wood to around 240 then add first coat of finish, then work your way to higher grits during each layer of finish 👍

    • @shaneknerr4014
      @shaneknerr4014 4 роки тому +4

      Good tip Ben a lot of people don't realize that the finer the grit when sanding your closing the grain of the wood especially if you're staining the wood you want to keep that grain open

    5 minutes in and I have seen all I need to see know this kid is legit and rare. All you have to do is look at his hands to see he has been at this for a while now. Looks to me that you are well on your way to having many jealous employees very soon. Just a tip from a much older version of you Seth, keep doing what your doing but don't lose your passion for being creative. It's easy to do when you are a master of your craft but end up taking phone calls, doing estimates, responding to emails and dealing with employees all day. Hell, I have done all the woodwork in over 2 dozen homes that range from 8 to 40 million dollars.
