A wheelchair does not replace independence, it increases it. Having it will provide all kinds of opportunities for her and your family that are not feasible for her to navigate on crutches.
YES!! 🙌🏻🥰
I agree
Yes!! 🙌🏼❤️💕💓💞💗💖
@@amazingabigailgrace how old is she and she is beautiful
I’m having some health issues with my joints, but we had a family trip planned for New York City. This ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxuxJwamLFanm476LC5WPeTouyyU1GXomC was perfect! It’s lightweight enough that my friend could carry it up or down stairs when we needed to. (I can walk very short distances) It was comfortable for me to sit in, I would say if you’re super tall it might be a little cramped. I’m 5’1” and the foot rests were the perfect height. This may not be the best one for long term use, you get what you pay for, but for something that fits our budget that gives me accessibility while we deal with my health this was amazing.
A wheelchair is a tool just like crutches or a car. She will be able to make more of life with a wider range of tools as possible. Crutches are slow and unstable. Wheelchair is stable and faster. Pick the right tool for the job. As her mum you are doing an amazing job xx
You hit the nail on the head!! 🙌🏻 Thank you so much!! 🥰❤️
is her name in the back seat i have a question
Omg you just changed my view of the world help
My mom literally cried watching this. She said it reminded her of me when I was younger. She said she cried when they got me my first wheelchair when I was 2 years old. (I’m 15 now) I love that you guys didn’t want to limit her independence. I’ve been in a wheelchair ever since I could understand and just pushing the chair by myself gives me the sense of freedom I don’t get from walking. I hope you all are doing amazing. 💞✨💞💜
Thank you so much for sharing this!! I hope you’re doing amazing too!! Thank you! 🥰❤️
@@amazingabigailgrace omg thank you so much! I am doing good thank you for asking. I hope you guys are too 💖✨
The chair will give Abbie so much freedom and allow her to keep up with her peers more! It's something I'm so glad I have as an option when I need it. You are such an amazing mom for being sure give Abbie every thing needed to remain independent. My close friend with CP was SO grateful when she finally received a custom chair that allowed her to be independent. She loves that she can keep going with others for longer time with out getting fatigued. You're feelings are sooo valid, but you've totally made the right choice for Abbie.
YES! Independence is the goal! Thank you so much!!
Thank you for filming this. I was going through UA-cam looking for wheelchair videos because we're going through this almost exact same experience with my youngest son. Just everything you said touched my heart and it really helps to know someone else has been there. And then I saw her name (I have an Abbygale Grace) I just had to comment. Thanks again for sharing.
That makes my entire day to know that you searched for this and found it!! That is the exact reason why I wanted to film this. Aww!! I love the spelling of your Abbygale's name!! Thank you so much!!
The average person is really funny about people having wheelchairs.
It’s like....do you have any idea HOW HARD it is to carry shopping, an umbrella or textbooks etc when you have crutches or a cane? 😅
YES! This! ❤️
Yup. This.
Don't feel bad that someone has a wheelchair. It's freedom.
And scratching an itch! Plus crutches are so hard on the hands arms and shoulders.
Its soooo true!
I just got my first wheelchair at 20. My parents have had a really hard time with it, But I am thankful for it because it helps me give a wider range with less pain.
🙌🏻❤️
So sorry to hear you haven't been able to benefit until now. I pray they will adjust their view as time goes on, but whatever happens that you can maintain your positivity.
I'm so excited to see that she got her chair, so many will never be able to see the freedom that it really brings.
She is a very blessed little girl!

i guess Im asking randomly but does any of you know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..?
I somehow lost my login password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me

@Kade Keenan thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Abigail is such a wonderful person - as well as her mom is! Being a Wheelchair user myself I know the amount of freedom it can bring along. Wishing you the best of luck.
Thank you so much 🥰❤️
This video came up in my suggestions so thought I would have a watch, it's nice to hear how a mum feels about their child getting a wheelchair, I say this because a few months maybe a couple of years ago I approached the subject to my mum about me getting a wheelchair due to my disabilities and health conditions, she said that I never needed a wheelchair and I never will, why I approached the subject was because I have my knees and ankles dislocating quite often to the point where I can't physically walk on a leg I'm in that much pain, and so I can't leave the house, I suffer from a TBI which has caused me to develop hemiplegic migraines so without a wheelchair I can't leave the house as during one of these migraines I am paralysed down one half of my body, I suppose I understand more because of what you are saying in the video as to why my mum doesn't want me to have a wheelchair, my brother who has cp has never used a wheelchair and she feels like I don't need a wheelchair, maybe just like you she is scared of having one of her children in a wheelchair albeit not permanently but like with your daughter it would give me some independence back and freedom, like I'm sure it has to your daughter.
Thank you for sharing about yourself!! I do think that a wheelchair can be such an amazing tool! I am so happy about the decision we made to get one! I hope you’re having a great day!! 🥰❤️
Same! I have disabilities and health conditions that really doesn’t allow me to walk or stand very long. If I do I faint a lot. It’s a heart problem. On good days, I can do sports even. But there are days where I can’t even sit up. So we’re looking into getting me a wheelchair so I can go back to having outings without being severely sick. Maybe going back to work even. Having the life an 18 y-o should have more or less. My new family is very supportive of it. My bio mom wouldn’t be a fan of the idea either. I really wish that you can get some quality of life back.
Same I wish that I could use a wheelchair because I have a developmental/ learning disability and I suffer from lots of fatigue and headaches I’ve suffered headaches ever since I got my wisdom teeth removed my orthodontist told me it was my wisdom teeth but I still get headaches/ migraines and also I really love people who use wheelchairs because they are great to use especially a lot of people are turning to wheelchairs for all different reasons and I know somebody who used a wheelchair due to Muscular Dystrophy and she really inspired me because she always looked so comfy and also she had a power wheelchair which I’m thinking of getting a manual wheelchair for when I go out and then a power wheelchair ♿️ for around the house because because I love the power wheelchair because you can use the body strap to keep your body in place and also you can sleep in your wheelchair if you don’t want to sleep in your bed because what her parents would do is put blankets on her during winter and summer and she would be nice and warm and that’s what I’ll do because it will keep me warm and also to go to the bathroom I’ll use my lift when I get my own place someday I’ll buy my wheelchairs and also my lift because right now I’m still living at home and to tell my mom that I want a mobility aid it’s hard for me to say anything about mobility aids but when I get my own place I’ll be free to buy my mobility aids and also I’m 21 turning 22 in May of next year and I still struggle with tiredness when I wake up every morning and also I have PCOS- Polycystic ovarian syndrome ) it’s a hormone disorder in woman and I’m so fatigued mostly it’s my adrenal fatigue like my stomach but I can’t wait to get my wheelchair hopefully it will help and also I’m on the ODSP- Ontario Disability Support Program) it’s a program that helps people with disabilities receive money from the government every month ) hopefully my disability money will cover my wheelchair and lift. but I really love your wheelchairs ♿️ 🤗🩷😘😘 Hello from Isabella Cabral from Canada 🇨🇦 @tvaholicsquidney @emandkids | AmazingAbigailGrace and I also love how this beautiful mom is open about her daughter needing a wheelchair and how a wheelchair can help Abigail
Very moving. I think it was a good decision. I got diagnosed with a progressive neuropathy about two and a half years ago. I can still walk a little, but got myself a wheelchair last December, after I left a supermarket after realising I couldn't stand up long enough in the queue at the checkout. I might be able to walk to the supermarket with an ambulator and frequent tests, but it would take about 2hrs round trip. In my wheelchair I can do the round trip in 20-30 minutes and not be exhausted at the end of it. Independence is great at any age, when possible.
YES!! Getting from point A-point B is all that matters anyway!! Making grocery shopping more of a pleasant task! I love that example! Thank you!! 🥰❤️
Sometimes I wish I had a magic stick just for a bit,🥇❤️👍🏻🙏🏻

She will race with Liam ,you , dad everyone, she wont want to use the crutch anymore 😄..atleast it's what my son did. At 2:20 you took me back to when I struggled accepting my childs NEEDS a chair. 2 years IN it was the best decision. Thank you for sharing!!
🙌🏻❤️❤️
Thank you for taking the time to film and share all these to the world. I'm taking care of a 3 year old with CP so you are an example that I can follow to see how to help her out a bit more than what my instincts can tell me. Unfortunately, her mother died of cancer and so now her father relies on friends and family to help care for her so it's been kind of a challenging situation. The father still does not want to allow her to use her wheelchair but she needs it as she grows up because carrying her around or letting her drag herself around is just not practical anymore in my opinion, thats why ur videos are absolutely awesome. Blessing to you and your family.
Hi Min!! Thank you so much for your kind words about my videos! THIS is the most rewarding part of making them. Transitioning to the thought of a wheelchair is tough. You sound like a wonderful caregiver to a sweet warrior! 🙌🏻🥰
Shes so sweet a brave and such a sweet little girl 😇🥰
Thank you!! 🥰❤️
She's good
I saw they like comments from a week ago when this was filmed a year ago?! Amazing channel!
Thank you so much!!! 🥰❤️
I just stumbled upon your channel a week ago. You are doing great.
Thank you for being here!!! 🥰
1yr in a wheelchair and I love chair life, hope you all are too- they are really amazing tools.
it is so incredible how the one piece of equipment really changed her life!! 🥳
EM&KIDS agreed! Has it also boosted her self confidence? So good to hear it’s going well and I absolutely love the colour and style of it.
@@Hopeandpeaceinjesus YES! Absolutely! I'm going to film an update video of how much it has changed her life!
she's getting old enough to try sports (adaptive)....have you looked into it, the programs in my area tend to start as young as 7
So exciting! 🥰
That is a beautiful Brave girl keep up the good work never watch her grow up and have fun thank you very much😊❤
Wheelchairs give so much freedom!!
I'm considering getting a wheelchair, too. I have mobility issues, too and some other undiagnosed stuff (we're on the way to diagnosing them) that are taking over my energy and walking and actually moving is very painful, and people may think that getting a wheelchair would be "giving up" but, it would allow me to use the same amount of energy and do more things than I'd be able to if I walked longer distances and with less pain. I really think I'm losing freedom because of my fatigue and mobility issues, I don't think a wheelchair would make me dependent, for me it feels the other way round.
Omg I just so your UA-cam channel and I’m already likening of it videos
Ahh! Yay! Thank you for being here! 🥰❤️
I use a wheelchair sometimes with cerebral palsy.
I HAVE ATTACHED MY RESUME FOR YOUR REFERENCE AND HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON AS I AM MARITA WITH MY CURRENT POSITION IN A GOOD MAN AND A GOOD MAN AND A GOOD MAN AND A GOOD MAN AND A GOOD MAN AND A GOOD MAN AND A GOOD MAN AND A GOOD MAN AND 5☺️😆
Deciding on a wheelchair for your child is never easy but deciding to film it is courageous. 💕This was a lovely video. Your daughter is beautiful and her happiness is infectious!

She uses crutches & a wheelchair for mobility! 🥰❤️
She is amazing and very ambitious!
She really is! 🥰❤️
I don’t know your spirituality/ religion but I believe that God has an amazing plan for you and your family. I know that this video must be so hard to film and I honor how much you put into this channel. You put so much hard work and vulnerability into it and that’s why I like y’all so much! I love you guys and I look up to you as a mom and I hope I’m half as good and confident as you are when I become a mom one day!!❤️
Thank you so much Makayla!! This is so incredibly sweet!

I like this video so much that I watch it everyday

she absolutely prefers walking over using her chair but it is a great tool for when she does not have the endurance to walk due to her CP. it is not a tool that she uses everyday or every month. she is still working on walking every single day & that is our main focus!
I was born with Cerebral Palsy ( CP) many years ago , I couldn't use the crutches (I also didn't learn to walk until I was 5) so with out them & or a chair I was well left on a bench to watch the kids play I got my FIRST scooter the year after I married my husband let me just say I have more freedom than EVER !!
She’s so beautiful sand brave I love you guys so much
Thank you so much!!
Bitte nicht mehr an den Reifen anschieben sondern am Metallring ansonsten tut man sich sehr schnell weh

My brother has wheel chair he’s had since he was in prep. He also had a yellow walker , the walker was like his best friend always scaring me and my mum while he speeds down the hills in it
she is so cute and smart
Hearing Abbie say I am so excited! Brightens my day immediately 🙂 thank you!!
thank YOU!! 🥰❤️
Thank you so much for making the best choices for your daughter and encouraging her independence. Huge appreciation from an adult wheelchair user who can also walk short distances. Finally getting a chair changed my life for the better in so many ways and I hope it does the same for her and your family
LOVE this!! Thank you! 🥰❤️
She is way more fashionable than I will ever be,
same 😂🥰
U are really brave and courageous my little angel Abby love u from Nigeria
Nigeria?! So cool!! Thank you so much! 🥰❤️
Congratulations! I absolutely see why a wheelchair would be useful given how long it takes her to walk, and how much effort it takes. This is a great step for independence and mobility!
thank you so much 🥰
The thing about a wheelchair is because I have a dislocated hip when I was 15 and I understand what your saying. I just wish my mom understands at that age. I might still be walking in my Walker if I had a chair
Abby is so cute
Getting upset about a wheelchair just makes having a disability a bad thing. And it makes of those of us in chairs feel like we are being judged as whatever the heck ppl think an out us.... it’s discriminatory if u think about it.
Wonderful, Abby is going to be so much more independent. Great job mama and Abigail.
❤️❤️❤️
Such a awesome wheelchair I love it.
thank you so much!! she’ll love to hear that!! ❤️
EM&KIDS I have a friend with CP my friend is in a wheelchair my friend can’t walk at all but my friend still has lots of things that is able to do
Way to go Abigail :-)
I think you will love your new chair and the independence it will give you, I just got my first chair at 55 and I love how it really allows me to go anywhere I want independently, and I am sure you will love it as well.
God
That's awesome 😊 I use my wheelchair for long distance too
🙌🏻🥰
My daughter is 5 years old and only ever used a wheelchair! She is on her 2 nd one ! And has a wizzy bug witch is a electric chair for kids !
Abigail your have the most beautiful smile and giggle I have ever seen, and I am hoping you enjoy the new race car so GO TEAM ABIGAIL
Em, I had a friend who wore leg braces (1970s) and used crutches until sixth grade, which is when she got her first wheelchair. The wheelchair gave her more independence and freedom than her leg braces and crutches. You know what’s best for her.
I was born with spina bifida. Doctors said I would never walk but I beat the odds at about 3-4 years old. When I hit 8th grade we made the decision to get me a wheelchair. Crutches weren’t cutting it anymore. My mom was so sad and hesitant about it for so long. But it was the best decision ever. I finally was independent. And kids couldn’t purposely trip me like they did when I was walking
She's so moving I also had to use wheelchairs and crutches due to my health conditions after being beat up her independence is great she's great and she can work on walking and being possibly strong
Im disabled and use a wheelchair too and i have sacrealagaenesis a cousin of spinabifida and i hope she grows up to be a great little girl.
We are about to order our 4yo with CP the tilite pilot. He’s very excited for his sports car. He can’t walk with anything but a walker at the moment. Not practical long term.
Very cool for Abi
Is her middle name grace? And is her first name Abigail? My first and middle name is Abigail Grace! I wish her best luck with her wheelchair!
She did awesome. I have c.p. too I use a walker a scooter and wheelchair
thank you!! 💚
When she leaves the chair to walk with her crutches, what happens to the chair?
Asking out of practical interest as my Mum may get one for similar reasons as she does.
You shouldn't have to explain to anyone why she needs a wheelchair. You can clearly see that she needs it! I use my my wheelchair due to two Chronic illnesses. I'm I'm pain 24 times a day.
Xx
I’m. So. Proud of. You. Both. Abby is. So. Independent.
What a special beautiful fantastic little girl with abig dream
Isn't she!!
Omg so cute and she is so stylist her wheelchair is so cute
Thank you!! She’ll love to hear this! 🥰❤️
EM&KIDS 🤗😀😍
Im wheelchair bound do to ms and md and she is doing great job i try to walk but i fall every time
I totally understand how you felt about getting her own wheelchair
Unless the wheelchair is an electrical one ,it needs a lot of effort and strength in her arms. There are little cars for children high as a wheel chair, that she can use.
Please keep her weight low normal for the weight on her legs and have her walk as much as possible to strengthened legs, which you can also massage them as well.Standing on her own is crucial ,bring the to legs close together and punch them at the knee level against a furniture her hands level so she can relax them ,or hold on .Also, If you use her hand to hold her walk with her legs as close to one another and the wideness of her legs will be on the step she takes, not at the position before and she will little by little leave your hand and walk with no help.I would love to know how she is doing🎀
She isn’t kind about it either. Mu school made me get a wheelchair and my mom hated it. It’s so bulky
I am in a wheelchair for life as I suffered a stroke at 17 years old and I am 35 years old now
EM and Kids when you are driving you need to keep your hands on the wheel all the time all the time
She will be so independd

love this having hd stroke almost two years ago i have thrapy daily too
I’m so happy for her. It’s great that she can independently walk with crutches for short distances but the wheelchair will give her greater independence. I have to use a wheelchair all the time and I’m thankful for it.
🙌🏻🥰❤️
My mom still doesn’t want me in a-wheelchair
A comment for people who don’t know. Only 11-17% of wheelchair users cannot stand/mobilise at all.
Part time wheelchair users are everywhere. Different tools for different situations. Have a good day.
Really appreciate this statistic! This video was filmed over 3 years ago and it is wild to look back on how much I’ve learned and what a different perspective I have now. Thanks so much for watching! ❤️
