Fluxtrance, you should turn off colision in the elevation/straight slope/snapping tab, so the growables dont break.
I said the same last video but I don't think he noticed. He just needs to press (Alt + C) to disable collision.

First thing that comes to my mind watching this city evolving is Gotham city. Sort of unrealistically dense and complex, kind of futuristi and just plain, awesome! Winter map and the buildings make it look almost black and white, and that just adds to overall atmosphere. Keep up the great work!
It reminds me of Coruscant. He could try using multiple elevated floors.
@7:00 you talk about networks removing growables.
There's an option to disable that, i think it's called 'collision', it's the button on the far right of the network options window, the one that looks like an explosion.
The custom Avalon metro train looks sick!

You should add a population mod that gets more people on your roads and it can also have rush hour. Your city looks pretty and I can't wait to see the finished product.:)
I feel like another center of tall buildings slightly removed from the primary cluster would help realize the scale of the city better and give it more character. Great work as always
And I'm also loving every moment you push the boundaries of the C:S engine, regarding the tiered buildings among other things.
Is Avalon going to have central park like that in New York ?
I don't know, a huge park would take away from the extreme density he's trying to achieve
There are already some park areas under some of the highways. I guess that will be extended in the future.

Aurelia is just next level. Nothing on UA-cam compares to it's level of detail. Sad to see Akruas go.

You can use the road anarchy and turn off Collision so that the road/pathway whatever dont delete your building.
It would be cool if in one episode, you did a Kowloon walled city type slum or something, were the working class of the city live away from the corprates and skyscrapers and amenities
You should out glass over the top of everything. There's some glass panel I think you've used before, and having a roof and I guess concrete retaining walls as well would make more sense in a cold climate. (Also, for the future, Quebec underground city??)
Hey Flux! In the video, you mentioned you're struggling with PO a bit. There's a youtuber called Akruas, he uses PO very frequently and in one of his videos he used the mod to create an elevated tram stop with an elevated pathway, same principle as the shopping centre. Thought it might help you out and inspire you a bit! The video is from his Aurelia series, episode 47. Hope it helps! :)

pleace, human eye level shots in the outros. You build a beautiful city, but I have hard time buying it. Emersion would help to sell it to the viewer. I want to see, breathe and feel the cold destopian world you create for us

And back to our regularly scheduled programming.
As a Taiwanese, it's very interesting to see those Taiwanese commercial buildings located in a snowy and western styled city. But I'm wondering about why you use them? Because to me they seem to have too many signs and just too messy (especially on the streets of Taipei). No offense, Avalon is a beautiful place, I am just curious.
Not speaking for Fluxtrance personally but because of iconic films like Ghost in the Shell and the use of east Asian signage in Blade Runner the look of overcrowded neon districts with Chinese and Japanese signage is associated with cyberpunk futurism in the west. This imagery was also fed by the impressions many in the 80s and 90s had of the shiny new buildings in developed east Asian cities.

there is so much great cyperpunk art set in various asian cityscapes, it looks amazing. its like a fusion of old backalleys filled with pipes and cables, and the run-down overpopulated grime of china and the endless metropolis of tokyo, the mixture of utopian technology and dystopian slums, decorated with all the neon signage and a total lack of zoning laws. i think we imagine futuristic western cities to be boring and sterilized and corrupt, compared to the asian cyperpunk aesthetic of total chaos. i never thought of how asians would think of that. how would a taiwanese think of it?
as well as the idea that in the future, the asian population could explode. for example, the firefly series where the huge chinese population immigrating into space really justified that cyperpunk idea where hanzi and english signage is the standard. it felt very realistic

To not make the buildings delete you have to turn off collision in fine road anarchy (the little blue explosion button at the left of the curve segment button)

I challenge you to make a quad-tier dystopian version of this somewhere, preferably in a low-income area. It'd be like the less preferred big brother version that nonetheless has spread like a cancerous growth through the city. Very cyberpunk imo.
Just see the icon that is at the last of anarchy menu . Turn anarchy on and COLLISION OFF so you can place network or building without anything getting destroyed

Flux u have to turn collision off in the Fine Road Tool Options it is the 💥 icon right next to the snap icon. That way u can build networks real anarchy style. Otherwise its almost garbage
I just hope Avalon is not prone to earthquakes it would be a lot of destruction.
Normally it doesn't remove buildings doing infrastructure over RICO's buildings, right ?
I mean, I see a lot of CS youtubers focusing on Finder + Move it, but RICO seems a lot better to me for buildings and then find it for props

Can you make a dystopian future version of Avalon?
It's fascinating to me that people use CS basically as a 3d modeling tool because, as somebody who does modeling all the time, it's a really shitty program to do it. The UI and Controls are super shitty for it. But, at the same time, I don't know what sort of program that does these sorts of functions that doesn't cost thousands of dollars and is meant for professional firms and governments. It's almost like a dumbed down ArcGIS Urban.
It also has the best traffic and transportation simulation of all the available city planning games when mods are in play, especially considering simulation in relation to demand. With mods, it ends up looking like a combination of ArcGIS Urban and PTV Vision (at least, that's how it appeals to me).
Curious about dabbling more with PO, have you found it having any adverse effects, like in FPS etc.
