Like #147. Mint documentary, as usual. Quite the front porch to put out a table and chairs for company coming over....maybe a hammock too. I looooove Komatsu excavators.
That is one IMPRESSIVE fleet of haul trucks!! I'm curious as to what is loading them? Great video as always! And once again, you have me wondering where this treasure trove of equipment is located!! LOL! Keep the videos coming!!
I really enjoyed this video. That's a nice looking fleet of haul trucks. Are this truck built here or imported? Very nice video as always. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video! 😃 I know the larger electric drive Komatsu trucks are manufactured in Illinois. I'm pretty sure the smaller trucks are also built in America.
The reduction in coal consumption has little to do specifically with the current administration. It's a trend that will continue worldwide unless some drastic loss of alternative energy sources occurs.
@@OakRidgejet The heck it doesn't!This administration has declared war on the coal industry very openly, and has said they will end it if at all possible.

Trust me, I'd love to, but that stuff attracts wayyyy to much negative attention from the DEP in this state. I know many people who have explored and photograped abandoned mines/ruins and every time a picture or video makes it's way up onto the internet, the DEP is issuing them a cease and desist order and/or bulldozing the ruins. It's just not worth it. Sorry!
Is this fleet on hold due to current situation, or is there any other reason, you use past tense in few answers so I assume they arent working currently...
This fleet got sold back to Komatsu after about 5 years of operation and replaced with a comparable fleet of 777s. The maintenance cost of a Komatsu HD785 is about double that of a Cat 777. Thanks!
@@PAmining Wow that is interesting, half the cost is significant difference. Thanks for your work and keeping us informed. Please focus on older machines, as they are disappearing...
love these videos. a question, why are the sides of the dump body so low ? if they were 2-3 times higher this teruck could carry 2-3 times as much dirt/coal/rocks. the dump body looks small in comparason to the wheels and truck in general. with no weight restrictions on the roads ( as this is a off road truck) this would seem to not be a problem. I say this after watching lots of videos of overloaded trucks outside of the USA ( regular dump trucks, not these mining trucks) that were hauling 2-3 times what a truck in the USA would be allowed to carry and was amazed the trucks didnt break or tires explode!. here is a video of average 10-18 wheel dump trucks being loaded with loads of 150 tons!. ua-cam.com/video/v0qXNcfeUGM/v-deo.html
The sides of the truck are the height they need to be to carry what the truck is capable of carrying. The people in those videos are idiots, if you watch enough videos you will see trucks tipping over and breaking. There are tons of videos like this of overloaded trucks. ua-cam.com/video/BJkpPL2bLMA/v-deo.html
That’s a fleet of trucks to be proud of.
You are incredibly knowledgeable. Thanks for the upload.
You're welcome :) glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the support!
Excellent video keep posting and I'll keep watching 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
You can be sure I will! Thanks! 😃
Nice Doc I really like komatsu as a company progresses through the years is amazing
From what I've seen, they are definitely more technology innovative that other manufacturers

Did anyone else notice the speedometer goes up to 80 mph?
Good video.
Thank you.
That is 80 KPH, or 50MPH which is still outrageous for a haul truck.
Impressive fleet right there!
Justin nice video about komatsu hd off highway trucks i enjoyed watching video.
Very very informative video my friend.
Thanks friend! Glad you enjoyed it!

SO COOL
😃 thanks!
Great as always. It's a real shame to think what might happen to this fleet and others like it if this current administration gets its way.

This poor fleet! We must protect it at all costs from Al Gore and commie Thunbergs! Gobless great America komatsu!

Impressive truck . how about doing movies about the abandoned mines in the areas you find the equipment ?

Are those trucks being used in a hard coal or soft coal operation? Thanks for posting 👍👍
These were being used in hard coal operations. Thanks!
Next time make a video about motor grader please
Absolutely. The caterpillar 16G will be coming up in the future!
Clean !
the engine looks like an old 30L V12 Cummins engine
Which part of PA do you mainly focus on?
The whole state lol

Was looking to see if you featured places like Nesquehoning, they have a decent operation going at the moment, former LC&N territory.

I see we've come a long way since the old days when a guy didn't have much more than four wheels and a seat.........
Isn't that the truth lol
A lot more compact than their grandfather, the 120 ton Wabco Haulpack.
They will be because they are way smaller!
I operated older model
rode like a wagon.
Way much better than Caterpillar 777

I’d rather run one of these over the 777 F and G trucks
I've heard mixed about those new Cats. Everyone I knew that drove these Komatsu's loved them.
