Burna is making global bangers, but still rooted in African musicality. That call-response (0:31 & 0:51) a uniquely traditional sub-Saharan Africa singing technique, and it adds identity to the song by Odogwu. It’s supposed to connote communality (with a leader and his responding followers), and I think that’s why Burna used it. Otherwise, the sonics are experimental, and overall texture sounds clean with the Toni Braxton sampled vocal riff in the background and a nice storyline to complement the track. This one’s gonna be on repeat for a while. Gosh what love can make a man do/sing 🤷🏽♂️😂
@@vocatuer8574 the call-response order of lyricism. In many traditional sub-Saharan African cultures, the public arena musical performances has a leader who leads a chant, and there are followers who respond. Do you get it now?
there is nothing like sub-saharan africa outside geography and geopolitics though, when speaking of culture, there is no such two way division or demarcation into 1. people below the sahara and 2. people within and above it

What the f is Uniquely Traditional sub-Saharan Africa singing technique
@@vocatuer8574 the call-response order of lyricism. In many traditional sub-Saharan African cultures, the public arena musical performances has a leader who leads a chant, and there are followers who respond. Do you get it now?

there is nothing like sub-saharan africa outside geography and geopolitics though, when speaking of culture, there is no such two way division or demarcation into 1. people below the sahara and 2. people within and above it

@@stephaniecrosby5294 There’s a tribe called Igbo (ibo) it’s a dialect of the south eastern people of Nigeria speaks. And there’s also a street slang called Igbo meaning weed.
