This song helped me in dark times in my marriage when I heard this song for the first time I knew it wasn't going to last, my partner was a narcissist that made me always feel less than, manipulate my love for them in so many ways and almost ruined me mentally. Now that I'm in a better place and going through a divorce this means even more. Thanks Burna!!! True love is really hard to find but finding peace and self love is more important.

True. Usain Bolt used to tell media outlets & major brands etc if they want interviews or to work with him they have to come to Jamaica. That way local people would get opportunity. Would be great if Burna Boy, Wizkid etc did the same if they aren't doing so already.

    • @Wavecurve

@@islandvybz5245 Ha Ha. Some of them experienced acceptance by foreigners and want to be like those foreigners. Wizkid literally thrashed Afrobeat, and said he doesn't want to be associated with Afrobeat anymore. Many of them claim not to doing afrobeat anymore. Burna Boy is doing Afro Fusion, Rema is doing Afropop, etc. Afrobeat is slowing dying the way of dance dancehall was adulterated with trap.

Burna has a way of adding even the most minute of social commentaries in his music. In the second verse, he mentions how he was in Port Harcourt when Soboma was killed and how his feelings were all over the place (my feelings dey swing like jangilova). Soboma was a Niger Delta militant viewed by some as a hero and others as a villain. Jangilova is the pidgin word for swings like those in playgrounds. He also mentions how at the time he was about to purchase a Toyota Corolla but now he's able to crash a Ferrari. I guess no matter the height that man reaches, we're all just humans and feel things like the next human.

Burna is making global bangers, but still rooted in African musicality. That call-response (0:31 & 0:51) a uniquely traditional sub-Saharan Africa singing technique, and it adds identity to the song by Odogwu. It’s supposed to connote communality (with a leader and his responding followers), and I think that’s why Burna used it. Otherwise, the sonics are experimental, and overall texture sounds clean with the Toni Braxton sampled vocal riff in the background and a nice storyline to complement the track. This one’s gonna be on repeat for a while. Gosh what love can make a man do/sing 🤷🏽‍♂️😂
