❤ the train whistle! Hiking up to Heublein Tower on Talcott Mtn in Simsbury, it's plain to see the rock is igneous. Same with Meriden Mtn in CT and Mt Tom in MA. I hadn't made the connection before. Rattlesnake Mtn in Farmington and the Tomasso trap rock quarries in New Britain are part as well. When you start thinking about the glaciers that scraped over them, you can envision the 2 mile thick Laurentide Ice sheet that was right above our heads!
