Every time I think I have a handle on what Jack Conte does, I come across another branch that blows my mind. Thank you all for everything you do! From one creative to another, you all are crushing and redefining what it means to make content.
Just discovered this series and can't stop watching these videos. Jack - you're doing my dream, sir. Talking to artists and creative individuals about process and practice and life. Thank you x1000. Hope one day we get a chance to chat, too.
Great interview! Looking forward to more. I'd love to hear more about the general topic of knowing if you're on the right path or not. Being creative and doing new things will typically require a long period of low feedback where you cannot easily tell whether you're heading in the right direction (from an outside/ data perspective). This can be scary and may keep a lot of talented creatives from following their dreams. Would love to hear how other creators have handled this.
yeah, I really enjoyed this as well! I loved the simplicity of everything, straight to the point 👍 To answer your question, one of things I do to help me figure out if I’m on right path is to organize my ideas & projects into two categories. Category 1 are ideas & projects that I create for myself. Category 2 are ideas & projects that I create to solve problems. Category 1 consist of things I do to have fun regardless if these ideas/projects seem to be profitable or not. Category 2 consists of ideas/projects to help solve problems, either from a personal agenda or after hearing someone/or people express an issue. I found that people are willing to pay you for your time (or pay for your content) if the info you’re providing solves a problem for them, especially if your solution helps them make money. Cause in the end, we all gotta eat, right? lol! Anywho, I hope this is helpful … damn, I’m looking forward to the comment section of these videos 🙃
3 days ago I didn't know Elle, until I saw her on an old dodie video (ua-cam.com/video/QvpeKJpkwGM/v-deo.html), and now this ! Dodie, that I discovered through Pomplamoose. So thanks Jack to make us discover these talented people!
How many have committed suicide for feeling so isolated, not realizing they'd been shadow-banned by "The Algorithm"? There's a great screenplay to be written here, the story of how some became woke to what was happening and their resulting cries in the wilderness to save others.
I found both Elle and Jack (among others like PPPeter, Dan Mace, and even one UA-camr who eventually became a member of Canadian parliament) through Casey Neistat. Probably no one has committed wholly to making themselves the product more than did Casey and I'm rather surprised he found a way to diversify his product in later years and survive.
Poor kids just another biting example of this generation absolutely crashing into the ground at light speed. What she’s saying is called all art , ever , since the dawn of man. But they are just broken and I don’t see a way to help them. They gotta figure it out then blame us lol.
Jack, what an incredible show concept. Elle Mills is the perfect person to help you kick start this channel.

These videos are super insightful for any creator navigating UA-cam, thanks Jack! []-)
