I haven't seen a beaver since I was a child. This guy was legit giving up on life when you found him. He was drawing you away to protect his family, and turned around to accept his fate. I totally had a "moment" when I saw this. Tough old guy.
I was always told not to take the pith out of my Elders, but if it is for securing some beaver, I now see the benefit... :D Sorry, I couldn't resist! Great Video!
I just realized in my ignorance that you only posted this just now! I am sitting in bed reading a book that mentioned the use of beaver tooth tools and was curious to see how they're made, so I paused to look it up on UA-cam. How coincidental you posted this right when I needed it :)
Hehe, they look like little elephants. The beaver actually have high consentrations of iron in their teeth, thats what make them yellow/redish and why they are so strong at cutting trees.
Good idea, I didn't even think of that. For now, these four teeth are too valuable for me to waste them on the not-so-great chert I find here. But this might change, should I find a couple more of them. We have plenty of beavers around here, after all.
Seems that your a person who respects nature. Like that you have given the beavers teeth a second life, it is very spiritual.

....thank you so much for the time and effort you put into this video.....of course...of course...the beavers' teeth would be used...

@@marygrinter4878 Well, that was a lucky coincidence! :-) Sounds like an interesting book you're reading there, what's the title?

Try using them as a spoon knife, with a reverse grip! Really interesting video.
If you want to see them carving spoons, you'll like my next video. ;-)
Awesome idea! Mother nature always provides all we need! Looking forward to more videos my brother! 🙏

👍 nice! I like to use them as a notching tool for arrowheads, myself.
