Hi dan! My book seems to mention that when subsidy is applied to S1 it moves the supply curve to S2 - Subsidy (S2 minus subsidy) because the subsidy subtracts the cost. Which one is correct?
Basically means every single commodity on its own. E.g say you’re running a batch production of Pepsi now each bottles(unit) will be taxed making it a specific tax of each unit of the batch which in this case is each Pepsi bottle in a batch production

Why we need to draw the vertical line of point b ?
Because that is the size of the subsidy per unit

It should be S+subsidy or just S2 or yiu could even write S2+subsidy I don’t think your book is correct on the c.o.p part
HUUUUUUUUGE increase in producer revenue
what does it mean by “per unit”
Basically means every single commodity on its own. E.g say you’re running a batch production of Pepsi now each bottles(unit) will be taxed making it a specific tax of each unit of the batch which in this case is each Pepsi bottle in a batch production
Thank you!
