  • Mercedes W220 airmatic testing and fill airspring one at a time. I have code c1133(right level sensor) so airmatic wont work. Rear left spring have slow leak, i need to fill it sometimes when wait part..
    If you dont hear that valve open, wire or valvebody is broken. If compressor wont start from relay, wire or compressor is broken.

    I have a 2013 S550 and I'm experiencing an issue where the right side keeps sagging. The suspension compressor stopped working, so I replaced it. However, the new compressor still doesn't turn on. I've checked the relays and confirmed there's power. My question is: if the valve block is malfunctioning, could it prevent the compressor from turning on at all, or should the compressor still activate regardless of the valve block's status? Essentially, I want to know if a faulty valve block can stop the compressor from even starting up.

      Hey my friend. I'm having the same issue as you. I've replaced everything except the valve block. Did you ever figure out if a faulty valve block would prevent the compressor from turning on? I'd appreciate a reply if possible. Thanks.

      @@auck1969 did you change the level sensors?

      @@dsingh11 sorry for the late response. I did change the sensors but I've researched this thoroughly and am just about positive that it's a faulty valve block. The valve block connects directly to the compressor and will not turn the compressor on if the pressure valve inside the valve block is faulty. Everything checks out and works perfectly including all fuses, relays and the compressor itself. I went the cheap route like the fool I can be at times and bought a terrible valve block with the white plastic top where the plastic air lines connect to. You've probably seen the kind of valve block I'm talking about on eBay and Amazon. They're absolute garbage and known to fail prematurely. So I ordered an all aluminum valve block and am going to install it this week. Also the button on the dash to manually start the pump works and says car rising when I turn it on. That's a tell tale sign that the valve block is preventing the compressor from turning on if you have fixed everything else which I have. It's an 06 W220 S Class that has around 140 thousand miles on it so a total refurb was needed anyway. And I love the car and refuse to change to coilovers. The air ride is far superior to coilovers. Also with changing the car to coilovers wrecks the stability and handling of the car because the cars suspension is designed for air struts not coilovers. I'm not an expert but consider myself fairly mechanically inclined and after studying about and working on the Mercedes airmatic suspension it's a fairly simple design that people get discouraged over. I agree that the Germans have a bad habit of over engineering things but they make some darn good cars. They've made some mistakes with the earlier 2000 Mercedes models with things like the PSE vacuum system they use for the automatic trunk, soft close doors and door locks. Terrible design especially in colder climates. But that's all been replaced now with electronics. Far superior. Anyway I'll definitely let you know the outcome. I'd appreciate any info you may learn as well. Have a great day!

      @@auck1969 okay nice one bro good luck. I’ve got same issue w Mine. I’ve checked everything last thing to change is the level sensors which one is giving me a bad reading. Compared to the rest. Totally agree w u mate air suspension is far more superior than coilovers lol would rather understand the system and fix the system as appose to swapping it out

      Val block or air compressor. I have the same problem right now and I was told by the Mercedes guy that’s just what it is. He’s my friend.

    Look at the massive amount of views on this video. Someone send this to MB so they can see they build absolute GARBAGE cars! Thanks anyways for posting this. This is helpful for troubleshooting this nightmare. Good job!

    I have an s class and my airmatic system is failing, I’ve heard it could be the relay of the airmatic, where is this located??

    • @jagboy69
      @jagboy69 10 місяців тому

      It could be about 3 dozen things wrong! Get a proper code reader. The relay drives the pump and the valve block distributes the air and everything else feeds back info to the idiot computer. When you have a bad leak usually from corrosion at the valve block or the struts, the pump keeps running until it burns itself up. My suggestion, a lit match solves all problems with these shitboxes!
