The wind generator plant you were talking about is Vestas they make the tower sections for wind generators. Yesterday it was 78 and tonight we are getting snow.

If its that complicated to get it running, I can't imagine how you shut it down. It might have to idle on the way to Canada.
I just pushed and held the RED button on the remote, and after the manchine shut down, I turned off BATTERY power on the unit. Took 30 seconds.
