What you just watched is not really indicative of BTS as a whole. Each one produces and writes. Their discography is enormous and they transcend genres. I would keep digging if I were you. It's a gold mine.
I would say it is, because they are very joyful and love to have fun. And their music, even many of their somber songs ends in a bit of hope for the future. Just because they didn’t write this song or the music, doesn’t mean that they do not mean the lyrics or did not choose this song to represent them. I love the variety of style in their discography.
Thanks for listening to our guys. I'll add my voice to checking out NPR Tiny Desk @Home edition. It really showcase their live vocals, the synergy among them and the energy that always jump out at you when they perform (remember cc for lyrics). Greetings from 48 yo in Florida 🏝️💜
Tiny Desk is good. If you do watch, please know that a couple of the songs were written to have call/response sections with a live audience, and since it was filmed during the pandemic… well… that’s why there’s a bit of empty space in some spots. Also strongly recommend turning on captions, as they provide English translations. Two of the three songs they perform are mainly in Korean. BTS is at their best live. The studio recordings do tend to be a bit overproduced, but they certainly don’t NEED the autotune. I’d rather hear raw (or just lightly processed) vocals any day!
ARMYs, please be careful not to belittle Dynamite in your efforts to try and explain how incredibly versatile BTS are. Dynamite is a perfect disco-pop track and if Michael Jackson had done it, nobody would feel the need to explain how “it wasn’t all” he could do. To the reactor: Congratulations for having discovered BTS, the most unique, sincere and hard-working group of artists you can imagine! BTS are celebrating their 10-year anniversary this year and they have a vast discography of over 300 group and solo releases to enjoy!
BTS debuted back in 2013 with Big Hit Entertainment through auditions ,..they went through training periods where some were cut and these 7 wonderful young men were the final ones chosen in 2012,. They debuted as a hip hop group and this song in particular was written and sang as a pick me up song for COVID lock down . They are more than just what you seen in one video.
Of course ARMY is letting you know how talented BTS is, their music is so much more than these pop songs. Their lyrics and musicality go well beyond these westernised songs. You may have people letting you know BTS saved them, it's not overstating a fact. The lyrics of past works are deep and highly personal for many fans, give them a chance, you won't regret it💜
Thank your reacting to BTS, but you maybe didn't pick the best song. Dynamite is a disco pop track they made to bring some cheer during lockdown, They have songs in many genres, like Hip hop, pop, R&B, EDM, and even latin pop. Also Jungkook doesn't need autotune. When's sitting in his apartment in the middle of the night singing with his dog and beer - he sounds exactly like. He's mad talented. Actually all 7 are extremely talented. They do use autotune from time to time but for stylistic reasons. The members are currently 25 to 30 years old. This is from August 2020 so they were a few years younger then. And yes, they spare no expense in making MVs (music videos). I think you should try something else like NPR Tiny Desk concert (although they sing Dynamite in that set and you've already heard it), or better yet Proof Live. For Proof Live they have a live band and Anderson Paak plays drums for one of the songs. All the best and thanks again for reacting.
Always have your subtitles on as BTS songs have deep meanings. They have hundreds of songs from multiple genres, they are ALL multi-talented, yet remain humble. They love ARMY. Please react to some of their deeper songs, their choreo & voices are always on point. My fave is SAVE ME. There are also other versions of Butter, such as hotter, cooler, etc. They are all really good!
I'm glad you decided to check them out! They do have the pop songs, but their discography is very diverse, they are incredibly talented and their live vocals are absolutely insane! I think you'd enjoy the Tiny Desk perfomance, it's a live performance with a live band too!
@@michaelgoyettemusic I think even better than the tiny desk is their Room Live Festa 2021! Both would be ideal since you would probably love the live guitar in the tiny desk, but the Room Live Festa shows you a wider range of their versatility, as they sing (or rap) snippets of a bunch of their songs. The musical composition of it is incredible too. They have such a huge and diverse discography like op said! Tiny desk only shows 3 or their songs and you're listening to one of them rn haha.
Their song Dionysus’ recording engineer and guitarist is Phil X formerly guitarist of Bon Jovi. Also Asaf Rodeh has been a part of recent BTS live concerts.
This is not exactly their characteristic sound, it is just one of their 3 songs in English that they did because of the pandemic after canceling their Tour. They do hip hop, R&B, ballads, pop etc. They don't have a specific genre and everyone writes, composes and produces. His lyrics and videos have a lot of meaning, psychological concepts, human development and the different chapters of life. I think after 10 songs you can just get an idea of what they offer as a group. I recommend "A guide to BTS members: bantang seven" by Taylor, you can react to it, we like to see even if we know everything and more, don't worry about pausing, the information is for you.
@@michaelgoyettemusic I would suggest Rice Squad's "The Most Beautiful Live Goes On: A Story of BTS (2023 Update" before doing Taylor Mari's guide to the 7 members. The Rice Squad one gives more details about how they came together, whereas Taylors goes into more depth about the members. They are BOTH worth watching!
BTS is a group of 7 boys, 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. There's a video 'A guide to Bangtan 7' that give information about this and that of each individuals and how the group is formed.
@@michaelgoyettemusic they write and produce the vast majority of their music, this is a very rare exception that they didn’t. Even their collaboration with Cold Play, My Universe, they worked with Chris on
They do pop songs because it's the only genre that Western radio will acknowledge. Dig a little deeper and you'll find much more meaningful music. Many have credited BTS for helping them though their darkest times. Be well, keep going! 🇨🇦💜
Honestly at least for Dynamite they didn’t make it to get in the western market. A lot of ARMY have the wrong perception about this. When covid happened it canceled all their plans and tour and everything and they didn’t know what to do (also keep in mind they were struggling to know what to write/sing about, I mean Black Swan, says it all). So a way to cope was to release this song. They tried to change the lyrics to Korean but it didn’t sound good so they stuck with English. Then they released it and it blew up which they were really surprised how big the song got. Personally I think it (and their other English songs) were the perfect songs to be released that uplifted many in times that people needed it, which has always been what BTS has wanted and strived for with their music. However they also released their BE album which was a surprise album that they didn’t plan on doing but decided to do it. Those songs on the album are amazing too and helped a lot of people then and now….(no hate) 💜💜
This is one of their few full English songs, their other songs hold much more meaning in my opinion, this song was to simply cheer up English speaking ARMY (the fans) due to covid. The NPR Tiny Desk is a great video to watch if trying to hear some lovely vocals, it's 3 full songs. or the BTS Live Room Festa 2021, it's got bits of multiple songs and it's really good as well, could be hard to fully grasp without knowing the songs already though.
Can’t agree more, dynamic and butter are songs written more to introduce BTS to US and the English speaking world. To truly appreciate them and their music you need to listen to a few other songs which totally gave different vibe and you’ll understand. If you have rap you’re also in for a treat. Check out UGH, Ddaeng,Cypher
@@YUYUith Ddaeng 100% needs an explanation video if interested in the lyrics. Ddaeng has multiple meaning and is used several different ways in the song. Also we as ARMY don't mind longer videos so if you're interested we'd love to watch the explanation with you. It's truly genius. Also for the cyphers, there are 4 of them, I'd probably listen to them individually rather than the melody, but that's just me.
BTS is wrongly categorized as Kpop or boy band because these have the connotations of a pop genre who usually have songs that are structured in a clonable manner. These guys are multi talented, rapper, vocalist, composer, lyricism, dance, comical, good looks, positive messaging, honest and musical integrity. They are the best group ever!
Were you thinking of Nile Rodgers? Dynamite is in English, but most of their songs (a few hundred) are in Korean w/ some English thrown in, and reflect their musical style more. If you're interested in hearing more, the Festa Room Live 2021 is a medley of songs chronologically through their first 8 years - it's a good overview of their music.
방탄소년단 노래를 처음 들으셨네요 리액션 해주셔서 감사합니다 다음 방탄소년단 노래의 여정도 기대할게요It's the first time you've heard a BTS song. Thank you for reacting. I look forward to the next BTS song your journey. 🙏🙏🙏 💞💞💕💕💕💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Great suggestions! Festa is like a sampler of their songs, will give you an idea of the diversity of their discography and a bit of their sense of humor. And yes, use the captions!
I really don't like the first timers reacting to their English songs first. Because of the type of songs and not having much meaningful lyrics in these English songs. They all get wrong idea of them without finding out who BTS are really like as artists. While nothing's wrong with these songs, people automatically put them in a typical boy band box. Thanks for the reaction and glad you liked this but I want reactors to look into their other works.
Thanks for the reaction. If you’re more into guitar, check out Run BTS song that has amazing electric guitar and the dance choreo is just crazy in a good way.
Thanks for the reaction…& I agree… definitely think you’d love RUN BTS. My suggestion would be to watch the Mic Drop & Run BTS live concert opener from their Oct 2022 concert in Busan. I think the live band adds to an already fire performance. It’s on Bangtantv channel. … as an aside the first singer in Dynamite is JK & it’s not auto tune (though they may have added some for production)… he sounds like that raw. His voice has a ‘harmonica’ tone to it in my opinion. Only way I can describe it. There are YT videos of him live streaming without a mic.
They use auto tune a lot but not because they can't sing. They use it for stylistic reasons. There's this negative connotation with auto tune but musicians know that it's used for a variety of reasons, not just to cover up an inability to sing. ARMY gets so touchy about people saying they use auto tune but the truth is they do. Same thing with backing tracks.
@@csong9940 - Came here to say this. Black swan and ON both have autotune used purposely for effect. There's a difference between using it because you have to and using it as just another production tool as you quite rightly said. :)
They do use autotune though, for effect. You can hear raw vocals from any of them and they all sound good at what they do, but sometimes they're looking for a particular sound. People get so touchy about autotune and they really shouldn't.
This track is a pure feel good track released as a cheer up song for ARMY during the depths of the pandemic… it is in no way typical of their catalogue of over 300 tracks covering a wide range of genres…. Some tracks that reactors typically begin with Fake love MV Fire mv Not today MV Blood sweat and tears mv Lives Run BTS live from Busan w subs Magic shop live w subs Your eyes tell w subs
This is not BTS, but just a minimum part of them. They rerleased this song to give the world a smile in times of pandemic. Most of their songs (400+) are in Korean with some words in English, deep, meaningful, empowering. They are different, their messages are for self-esteem, self knowledge. ost of the songs that look like"romantic" , in act are about friendship, most are for us (A.R.,M.Y.). Since the beginning, they gave voice to the underdogs, mainly Korean youth. Be prepared to find a lot of styles, "abnormal" structures, resuming: not boring songs!! The group is formed for three rappers and four singers, seven talended artist (sonwriters, producers, dancers, entertainers...) that at the same time are seven humble and awesome human beings! I hope you dig into this beautiful rabbit hole, because you are the prove of their effect in our lives... if you don't noticed, you were smiling aaaall the time while watching them!
Please do not say that this song is not BTS. They chose this song specifically because it had exactly what they were looking for. BTS has explored many genres and this is just one style. Instead of saying this song is not BTS, how about saying “If this type of pop song is not to your style, check out …..”
@Memy you didn't understand me, maybe you stopped reading after those words... I meant this song doesn't represent BTS as a whole, or didn't you know that the stereotype "boy band" is a burden over them? If you had read the whole comment, you'd have understood.
Thanks/ Merci for your BTS reaction! MV stands for music video btw ( not movie ). You have tapped into BTS!!! They are a South Korean group of 7 members ( 4 vocalists and 3 rappers ). They sing , rap, dance, produce, write lyrics, you name it . Every ARMY ( their fandom ) will tell you they are amazing . And they are right. Should you choose to continue on your BTS discovery journey, you will agree with us. If you like guitars, I suggest their Tiny Desk concert ( live and with a band). You might enjoy it. ARMY will follow. Enjoy !
70 here. Watched The Beatles debut on the Ed Sullivan Show. I've been through all of the eras & genres of music since. BTS is unique and their impact for good is world-wide. I have followed them since 2016. You will understand more once you watch the introductions. I recommend them in this order: Xceleste, Rice Squad, then Taylor Mari. Each brings a different perspective & builds on the previous one. All are well done. I enjoyed your reaction. Good luck.
I always cringe a little bit when people start with Dynamite for BTS. Not that Dynamite isn't a great song, but it's not, at all, indicitive of BTS. I highly recommend you check out their live concert performances because their band is amazing! Mic Drop and Run BTS from the Busan concert are phenomenal! Hope you enjoy them!
I am here for the comments, knew what was coming up as I was watching the reaction 🤣 Joking aside, I've never seen anyone ready for BTS Tiny Desk concert so fast 😁It is a nice, live singing short video, chilled, no dancing. You'll miss it when it's over 😉💜
Это любимая миллионами людей - корейская группа BTS! Это песня была посланием, поддержкой фанатам в трудные времена пандемии! И да, мы очень любим этих замечательных парней!
That's jungkooks actually voice at the beginning. If you watch the live performance you'll notice it's them singing live. They came together organically and their from different parts in Korea. You gotta check out life goes on the story of bts by Rice squad.
They did not come together organically. They auditioned (except Jin) and were offered trainee positions at Big Hit. Please don’t misstate facts to fit a narrative. There’s no shame in how the band was formed.
Thank you for giving the guys a listen! Respectfully, for your consideration: 1) Sports teams do not come together "organically." They are made by business people for the purpose of making money. Yet nobody thinks about that when enjoying a game. It's just not a thing that matters to people when they are watching talented athletes. 2) Even bands that came together "organically" did not actually do that. Keith Richards and Mick Jagger did not form a successful band because they were schoolmates. They formed a successful band because they were both talented musicians - who happened to scout each other at a school. I hope you check out more songs!
People that start with Dynamite are shocked when they get to the older BTS stuff. They have songs in every genre. Dig in deeper. They will surprise you.
This really does not show the depth of their abilities. They did a couple of upbeat feel good songs like this during the pandemic to lift spirits. They also have a lot of acoustic work and NPR and MTV live performances. They write and produce much of their own music. However if you're interested in their vocals stripped down you might react to their live Coldplay cover of Fix You. There are three rappers and four vocals in the group. They cover a number of genres from rap to ballad, R&B to pop, Latin pop and hip hop.
They're a result of South Korean Kpop trainee processed artists. They all auditioned, passed, trained and became BTS with an independent company back in 2011 and debuted in 2013.
I am sure you are familiar with Coldplay. They have a collab with BTS called MY UNIVERSE. There is a music video and also short a 'making of' video narrated by Chris Martin. BTS look up to Coldplay and Chris is a big fan (ARMY). BTS never do the same thing twice so you can imagine how diverse their discography is. Many reactors who are musicians, vocal coaches etc do enjoy BTS, they have amazing vocals, rap, production and lyricism.💜
Yes, they were placed together by their label through an audition process, and also yes, they did grow up together, living together for 9 years, starting from when the youngest was 13 (global age, as a Koreans count age differently and are often 1-2 years ahead) and yes, they’re also very “organic” in that they all write and produce and the music is almost all their own voice/thoughts/stories. Their (originally tiny & broke) label prized artistic freedom and their genuine voices as artists and people above all else. It’s a really unique and remarkable situation. As others have said, this song is an exception and isn’t the greatest example of the depth and breadth of their work nor the scope of their talent. It’s a fun and catchy song, but they dumbed down their work a bit because it was meant as a global pandemic pick-me-up (along with Butter and Permission to Dance) and they wanted it to have the broadest appeal globally. Most of their music is in Korean or Konglish (Korean/English mix) and so good translations help if you want to understand them lyrically, and in some cases breakdown videos to help explain multi-layered storytelling and cultural contexts, especially on rap songs. Their music videos are often cinematic masterpieces themselves, which have layers of storytelling in the visuals alone, which may or may not be connected to the song lyrics. All their albums are concept albums which have themes ranging from psychological to philosophical, life stages, literature and visual art, etc. Often they sound like love songs on the surface, but rarely actually are. They often address socio-political, mental health, economic and cultural issues in their music and have an overall mission to bring love and healing to the world through music. There’s also the BU (Bangtan Universe) which is an unfolding fictional story told in their songs, videos, short films, album liner notes, a mobile app game, a web comic, books, and more mediums. That’s a whole other level to explore. Their artistry is really on another level. Additionally, they as people are just the most genuine, loving and kind people, genuinely bonded to one another as family and consider their fans friends and family too. It’s quite a journey to explore, a very rags to riches underdog story, and all of it documented, as they started out vlogging on UA-cam and making their own behind the scenes and variety show content. They are already the 4th most awarded artists in the history of music globally. Have fun discovering them.
Also, just so you can hear how amazing their voices are without autotune (since it's a stylistic choice for them), I recommend Magic Shop Live at Wembley stadium. It's a song of encouragement and hope written for their fans Army, so the lyrics are beautiful too. Their vocals and stage presence are just...chefs kiss* As for a live band, I highly recommend Proof Live 2022 "Born Singer" (remix of J Cole's Born Sinner). It's beautiful!!
Some of BTS's most viewed MV/Songs: 1.6 B Boy With Luv 1.6 B Dynamite 1.5 B DNA 1.3 B Mic Drop 1.2 B IDOL 1.1 B Fake Love 922 M Blood, Sweat & Tears 855 M Butter 747 M DOPE 567 M Permission To Dance 565 M Not Today 539 M ON 504 M Spring Day 500 M Life Goes On 449 M Black Swan 410 M Daechwita (solo by SUGA aka Agust D) 409 M That That (SUGA with PSY) 361 M Fire 257 M My Universe (with Coldplay)
As plenty of others have commented, their three English songs are not really indicative of their general style - this is one of their most poppy, "processed" tracks, and one of the few where they use a significant amount of green screen - otherwise, they're famous for their use of real effects; if the floor falls down, it falls down, if the room is flooded - it's flooded. :) Yes, they were "manufactured" in the way that pretty much all popular bands in Korea are - originally, BTS was supposed to be a pure rap/hiphop band, but things changed and they found their current form before their debut in 2013. Seven members - three rappers, four vocalists, and they've all written songs, composed or helped compose, most of them have produced songs as well; the CEO of their label created the group with the clearly stated goal of finding sincere and talented young men and allowing them to speak their own truth and their own words. They've handled themes that are practically taboo in South Korea, like mental health issues, generational conflict, cyber bullying and so on. I wouldn't know where to start recommending songs - but personal favourites are Black Swan, On - Kinetic Manifesto, Run BTS (not to be confused with just Run), Magic Shop, Mikrokosmos, Blue and Grey, Daechwita, Singularity, More and Wild flowers (the last four are solo works).
This song is kinda like BTS lite in my head. It's a great song and I love it but they're capable of so much more. This particular song is kind of a song to cheer up the world, it came out during the pandemic when they couldn't tour any more. It's light and fluffy and funky and puts a smile on people's faces which is what they wanted. They didn't write this one, but they all contribute to their music with writing, composing or producing since they started. I agree with the people that say NPR Tiny Desk @home concert would be worth watching. They do 3 of their songs with a live band. I also really liked the Festa 2021 Room Live, it's a medley of b sides from their whole discography and gives a good peak at all of the different genres they do cause these guys are so versatile. Oh, and ages! So currently they range from 25 to 30. They are in the process of enlisting for South Korea's mandatory military service so they're focusing on solo projects until they all finish and can come together again in 2025. The eldest Jin is already enlisted, and the rest are making preparations.
Thanks for checking out BTS. Please react to ON KINETIC MANIFESTO FILM , MIC DROP WITH STEVE AOKI, BLACK SWAN, FAKE LOVE and many more. Please turn on the subtitles so that you can understand the message of the song.
Watch the "Tiny Desk Home Concert" version for the live version of Dynamite. This isn't their normal genre, they started off with hip hop, then delved into R&B, Pop, EDM, latin pop, ballards, and rock. The Tiny Desk concert has 3 live songs, with a live band, that showcase their vocal skills. On top of this they are all excellent dancers.
As an Army we love seeing genuine reaction from new fans, would love to see you react to 'Astronaut" live with Coldplay...definatley guitars there💜💜💜💜💜
Just discovered your channel today and thank you for this reaction to BTS. The version of this song with their live band, Ghost, on Tiny Desk is really good, guitars are on fire. This was the 1st of 3 fully English songs released during the Pandemic to cheer up their fans called ARMY and bring them hope. They are not very deep and soul searching lyrics as that was not their purpose. BTS cover multiple genres and their Korean songs are very lyrical, poetic and very meaningful, whether bringing comfort, discussing mental health, encouraging to work hard, find ways to love yourself or face your deepest fears and shadows, they are all amazing beats, lyrics and compositions with stunning visuals. They also perform live, no lip synching, whilst performing incredible choreography. These are 7 very accomplished musicians, composers, lyricists and producers. I think you may like Fake Love and Run BTS as they are more rock but they also cover hip hop, ballads, edm, pop, neo soul, jazz, etc etc. If you want to see a taste of their musical diversity I suggest Festa Room Live 2021 as they perform snippets of B songs from each of their albums. Enjoy discovering the group, it is worth the time. 50 year old ARMY from UK here!
If you enjoyed the guitar, then I definitely recommend their live performances! There is always more guitar when they perform live. As others have suggested, I think you would really enjoy their NPR Tiny Desk Concert. And a great way to hear a variety/medley of a nice cross-section of their styles of music is the 2021 BTS Festa Room. Enjoy getting to know them! Edited to add: I didn't realize how many times I used the word "enjoy" until I read my comment. 😆
Thanks for giving BTS a chance. They write/produce most of their songs, but Dynamite was not one of them. It was written by American writers, hence the familiar sounding pop track. Their own songs are more unique in my opinion and MUCH deeper. You'll see if you ever decide to give them another listen. Here are some recommendations: Tiny Desk (as many have suggested) Festa Room Live (a good sample of their own songs) 2019 MMA Award (legendary performance that showcased their true prowess live) Happy viewing ❤
THIS song is ONLY ONE of 3 completely ENGLISH and what I consider kpop. BTS is put into kpop genre, however, BTS is so diverse, they cannot be put into a category other than BTS GENRE. This song, “Dynamite” is not representative of their discography. RESEACH THEM FURTHER. There is one SHOCK after ANOTHER of you truly are interested in finding out about THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD! They are intelligent, all have college degrees and many have completed masters or working on it. The eldest, KIM SEOKJIN is currently fulfilling his duty by serving in the military for 18 months. Their talent is beyond Michael Jackson, they are 7 MJ’s. There are 4 vocalists and 3 rappers. I hope you will explore further. Thank you for reacting. I’m 64 years old, SILVER ARMY! Their fans (ARMY) are just as diverse as their music💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Thanks for your reaction. Dynamite is not indicative of BTS’ catalog. They started as a hip hop group, so most of their stuff is rooted in hip hop. To watch a live version with their band, Ghost Band, watch their Tiny Desk Home Concert by NPR. K-Pop is manufactured, however, Big Hit Entertainment’s CEO, Hitman Bang, had a slightly different approach when he chose these young men. And that’s why they’re the greatest.

Dynamite was a song they released to comfort ARMY diring the pandemic. It is just a fun track. The last thing I would do is - judge BTS by one english song out of their extensive discography of around 350 songs known for their lyricism, word play, deep meaning, choreography, MVs etc etc.
Also, FYI, they are almost always better live, and in addition, when they play live they generally have a live band and there is a lot more guitar than on the recorded version of tracks.
I agree with everything else everyone is saying at Tae is defo coming to wreck every bias or bias wrecker list you have especially with that smile at the the also my jiminie i still cant get over him also their dancing, attitude, vocals and just everything about this MV os perfect. For their very first full english song they did it perfectly. Also the fact that every Army right now is being bias wrecked by every member including their bias just goes to show how perfect and amazing these guys are and that they do such an amazing job with what they do as well.
ua-cam.com/video/I8OKEc6rx1M/v-deo.html This is a guitar-heavy live performance by J-Hope, one of the members of BTS. Sorry this vid doesn't have subtitles. So just enjoy for the sounds.
If you are interested to hear more Watch their tiny desk concert that they did during the pandemic to see a few tracks in varied styles. we are always keen to have new people listen and react to them. 3 rappers, 4 vocalists, they often write and produce their own songs, though not Dynamite which was intended to be all in English and upbeat to cheer people up. Most of their work is deeper, but all is excellent (my opinion) !!
3 Pop Songs they did mainly for the US market and to cheer up peoole during covid, and these were crazy successful. But brsides that, they are extremely versatile. Please listen to more songs from them, and watch their background story... you will fall for them, I promise you! Believe a 66year old music fanatic ;) 😅 they are just sensational! Regards from Vienna!
Thanks for reacting to BTS ! I think they will surprise you on many levels as this is probably the most "typical" song they've released (they just wanted to share good vibes during covid and make people smile). So yeah Dynamite is good but it's about 5% of what they do. :) BTS has, no lie, the widest range of music any artist have and hundreds of songs. That means, no matter what your genre is, you'll find songs you like and some you'll enjoy less. Anyways, as much as medias like to put groups in a box, BTS is no typical "boyband" and even in the Korean Pop industry, they're totally different. They're pionniers in some way and to these days, I haven't seen any artist that big being so normal out of stage. But most of all, they've been working very hard for a decade, literally starting from scratch in a company that was on the verge on bankruptcy only to have made this company one of the biggest economic sources in South Korea nowadays. You were asking "are they a manufactured project ?", to briefly answer : yes they were put together through auditions BUT no they were never immaculate idols, or pons in the hands of a company. They've always been participating proactively in the project, being the face AND the brains of it too. There are 3 rappers and 4 singers, all currently between the age of 25 and 30 (yes they look younger 😄). " 2 of them were underground rappers before debuting with BTS, and two others were dancers since a young age. On top of being amazing rappers, singers and dancers ; BTS members write, produce, take part in the artistic concepts, music videos, dance choreographies, ideas... Everything basically, in collaboration with their company staff and artists. They're really on a line of their own and I think you'll see that for yourself when you react to more. That being said, you're really perceptive on many levels, can't wait to see more of your reactions :) Also, I think you should definitely react to the different fan-made guides about BTS. They'll put you on many informations about the group, the members, how they work and everything basically. Because above learning about their group history, these guides make you understand their music a lot more in some way. That was my case when I first became a fan (and I'm sure I'm not the only one). I guess learning about the background of each member, their background as a group and the way they work for their craft, makes you understand the music (and the artistry) in a much more complete way. The most complete (and amazingly made) guide is : "A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7" (by Taylor Mari). Hope you'll react to it ! In any case, enjoy the journey !!
Their very popular English songs are meant to appeal to the English speakers - and we do indeed love them. But they express themselves better in their own language. If you like guitar with your BTS I definitely recommend "dna"!
This is just a small part of what BTS does. They are VERY diverse in what they do. They usually do a English/ Korean mix. This is 1 of 3 full English songs. They put out a great message. Keep watching them.💜
They have broken record held by The Beatles and Celine Deon. They have spoken at the United Nations twice and have been guests at The White House. They have had a cover on TIME magazine. This is just a very small list of achievements. They have a great message that reaches out to all ages, colors, and genders. Hell, I bet the aliens in outer space even know and love them.
Great reaction! I HIGHLY recommend watching an intro to them...there's one by Taylor called A guide to BTS members: Bangtan 7 that's very thorough and updated for this year. You'll quickly see that they are true artists, genius lyricists, philanthropists, advocates, and not merely just some boy band. :)
@@michaelgoyettemusic, yes they are. Korean and some English. BTS just have 3 song full in English. But the music are good. And you can check the subtitle if you want to know the translation.
Welcome to BTS! JK.doesn't know autotone. Please watch and react on their live performance in tiny desk concert though it was done during the pandemic 2020.
BTS cover many genres so they always feel fresh and interesting. From easy summer bops like this one to quite intricate songs with deep lyrics. They really don't need any auto tune it's more of a stylistic choice in some of their songs. If you want to see them with a live band, please react to BTS- Tiny desk concert. They are 7 members in the group, 4 singers and 3 rappers.
Love your reaction, & how you picked up that disco-style rhythm guitar (Nile Rogers, as a commenter pointed out) right away. The horns in this also reminded me of that moment when funk & pop was fueling early disco songs by bands like KC & The Sunshine Band. BTS are wildly diverse in their musical styles, which is a reason (one of many) that I love them. They did a medley of B-sides (from their start, up until that year) for their 2021 Festa performance-an annual thing they do to commemorate their debut in June of 2013. Here it is: m.ua-cam.com/video/RRhjdYsNwAk/v-deo.html Enjoy this journey. I know you will.
This was a feel good song, all-English (one of 3) put out during the pandemic to help their fans feel better. The other 2 are Butter and Permission to Dance. Most of their other songs are either in Korean with some English, OR in Japanese. The 3 English songs weren't written by them, but many of their songs are either written, composed and produced or co-produced by the members. There are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. There are 3 or 4 "main or lead" dancers, but all of them dance. They debuted in June 2013. The first guy, Jungkook, is their Main Vocalist. I don't know if they used autotune in the video, but he doesn't Need Autotune. He goes live and sings for the viewers - just Karaoke. In fact, there have been vocal coaches reacting to JungKook saying that he sounds like autotune when it is Just him singing in his studio with nothing other than his voice. The members don't play instruments in most of their shows, but sometimes have live bands with them. Suga (a rapper and producer primarily) plays piano and guitar (he just did a live stream recently playing guitar and Singing rather than rapping), and Jung Kook played drums in one of their "live" performances during pandemic. As far as I know he is still practicing drums. Jin also can play piano and some guitar, and Jung Kook can play some guitar as well. V (baritone voice) has practiced saxaphone and trumpet. Not sure if he is still playing those or not. What's crazy is that when they are Live, they sing while doing crazy dance moves. Glad you enjoyed this. Normally their songs are lyrically deep, but not for these 3 songs. They write and are involved in all of their songs. If you are interested, they did a collab with Coldplay called My Universe and there is a behind the scenes on BangtanTV channel showing that Chris Martin went to S. Korea during the pandemic and worked with them, while they were co-writing parts of the song. It shows them first hand recording and writing, etc. They performed it together several times - like at the American Music Awards November 2021 (sound quality was bad though), and at the end of one of their concerts in Los Angeles same time frame. I think there was another time in New York where they were just standing around singing it together. Anyway, probably too much information. I'll let others recommend, as their discography is massive, including solo Mixtapes and lately Solo Albums from some of them and more to come. My introduction to them was the Black Swan MV and I've never looked back from them.
Dynamite is definitely not the best choice. BTS just put this song out during the pandemic to cheer up their fans. Please listen to their Korean songs. It’s a completely different experience.
@@ilygojo What is wrong with me is that I believe that their English songs are not as complex as their Korean songs. Its a shame that Western reactors who first listen to Dynamite believe that this is how they always sound when there is so much more to their music. Songs that THEY actually write and produce.
Why don’t you listen to them signing Coldplay’s Fix You if you want to experience their beautiful vocals. Dynamite was their 1st all English song. Only 1 member, RM is fluent in the English, which I think all of them did an amazing job. This group amazes me with how many genres of music that they do. They are NOT your typical boy band. They write, compose, and produce a lot of their music. You should dig deeper if you truly want to know about them to be able to judge their talent better. There is a reason they are the number one group globally and have over four million fans around the world.
I don't know where to start!😅 All I say is that there is a saying: BTS finds you, when you needed them the most. May you check out "the introduction to the Bangtan 7" by Taylor That gives you a lot of background info and some snaps of their discography Or the festa room live 2021 it's kind of a madly of their albums till BE Looking forward to see more BTS💜
bts is 3 rappers and 4 vocalist the write and produced there songs, this song Dynamite and 2 other all english songs Butter and Permission To Dance was made during pandemic to cheer fams up.. Bts have 6 nr 1 songs at Billboard 100 and 6 nr 1 Albums at Billboard 200 and are tied whid Beatles, there lyrics is amazing taking up depression, cyber bulling, women power, haters social injustice
Thank you for the BTS reaction. If you want to hear the rock sound of K-pop, listen to Dreamcatcher's PIRI. Dreamcatcher is a K-pop group, not a rock band. However, they have a sound that mixes K-pop and rock well.
Ok that does sound interesting…..feel free to remind in a week or so if you remember to. I’ll be checking out a couple more BTS vids first but I’d like to get to more stuff after.
@@michaelgoyettemusic they use auto tune pretty often as a creative choice (an example could be Black Swan or Louder Than Bombs, where they use it to give their voices an eerie vibe). I'm not sure if they're using it on Dynamite (it might be, given it's one of their more radio-friendly poppy songs and auto tune is kind of an industry standard) , but Jungkook (first guy) is known because he makes livestreams using a cheap karaoke mic or even his phone and he still sounds like on the Spotify versions. So it could be auto tune as much as not 😂
Please check out Festa Room Live. It gives a taste of how varied their music is. To check out their origins I suggest you watch Taylor’s guide. As others have said, their English songs, as great as they are, are not indicative of their music. I recommend Louder than Bombs, House of Cards (live), Outro:Tear (live at Wembley), Black Swan and ON: Kinetic Manifesto Film.
Aku sangat senang dan sangat menghargai jika ada orang yang mulai ingin mengenal BTS,sungguh mereka idol multitalented&amazing🤗💜thank your reaction😊sukses
Is that right? Although it is possible to auto tune live but I have no doubt he’s a great singer. I don’t mean it as a diss. I’ll check out more for sure.
Lol.... How did they come together? Fate. But fate had a little help in the form of Bang Si Hyuk and Big Hit Entertainment. They were put together but also grew together organically. Definitely check out the information videos others are suggesting. These guys have an amazing story.
I'd advise also checking out Stray Kids (God's Menu, Back Door, Thunderous, Maniac, and Case 143) but check out 'The Sound' too - they are a self-produced k-pop group with a lot of complex production. And (G)I-dle is a self-produced girl group in k-pop - Tomboy has some guitar work in it. Lion, Hwaa, and Hann (Alone) are really popular as well.
in this case auto tune is a style choice...they don't need auto tune...and always sing live....They didn't write this song but they write and produce a lot of their own music...........React to their story to answer some of your questions "BTS from nobodies to Legends 2019"💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
They all play instruments and mainly write their own music. This was not one of those songs. This they did to pick up spirts during pandemic. You might enjoy Tiny Desk Concert BTS.
This track is not typical regarding their usual stuff. Their rockier version of Fake Love might be a good one for you to try out if it’s some guitar you’re after. ✌️💜
Thanks for sharing your voice….I’m definitely going to check that out.
@Michael Goyette the leader of the group, RM, also did a Tiny Desk for his solo album recently, you will definitely enjoy that 🙏
Agreed with the suggestion 100%. You get to hear this song performed live with the band.
And think desk has a live band
The lyrics of past works are deep and highly personal for many fans, give them a chance, you won't regret it💜
The army is teaching me everything I need to know!! Thank you all so much!!
Sounds like they mean a lot to many.
Hey I have no problem with disco!!
Also I never meant to imply that he “needed” auto tune.
I look forward to falling down the rabbit hole!!
Thanks for watching! I’ll definitely check out the tiny desk show soon
@@michaelgoyettemusic - yes, the guitarist goes crazy in the Tiny Desk!
I think you would enjoy their Tiny Desk concert. Live band. Because of the production auto tune was used to enhance not to lift their vocals.
Their song Dionysus’ recording engineer and guitarist is Phil X formerly guitarist of Bon Jovi. Also
Asaf Rodeh has been a part of recent BTS live concerts.
REALLY???? I love Phil X!!!! He’s Canadian too!!!
I didn't know that. I can see some influences now. Love Dionysus. such a powerful song. 💜
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with me! I’ll definitely be checking out some more videos….and the guide sounds like a good idea too
@@michaelgoyettemusic I would suggest Rice Squad's "The Most Beautiful Live Goes On: A Story of BTS (2023 Update" before doing Taylor Mari's guide to the 7 members.
Ok cool….thanks. Maybe I’ll check out some more.
@@michaelgoyettemusic they write and produce the vast majority of their music, this is a very rare exception that they didn’t. Even their collaboration with Cold Play, My Universe, they worked with Chris on
In fact a few of them actually play guitar
They do pop songs because it's the only genre that Western radio will acknowledge.
Dig a little deeper and you'll find much more meaningful music.
Many have credited BTS for helping them though their darkest times.
Be well, keep going! 🇨🇦💜
I’m happy people find deep connections to the music….I will be respectful of that. Thanks for the suggestions.
@@amberpearce710 So well put, Amber.
Watch their Tiny Desk concert then you’ll know their capabilities much more
Yes, this is a great recommendation!
Thanks for the suggestions!! :)
@@michaelgoyettemusic BTS Room Live Festa 2021 is a must🔥🔥
BTS is wrongly categorized as Kpop or boy band because these have the connotations of a pop genre who usually have songs that are structured in a clonable manner. These guys are multi talented, rapper, vocalist, composer, lyricism, dance, comical, good looks, positive messaging, honest and musical integrity. They are the best group ever!
Thanks….it’s nice to hear from the fans!!!
Niles Rogers is absolutely who I was trying to think of!!!
Thanks for the rabbit hole guidance!! :)
Thanks for the thoughtful reaction. Can’t wait to hear from you about more of BTS’s work! 💞💜💞
Thank you so much

BTS is better live. Try the Tiny Desk concert. BTS Room Live Festa 2021 is a good time too. Don't forget the CC
Great suggestions! Festa is like a sampler of their songs, will give you an idea of the diversity of their discography and a bit of their sense of humor. And yes, use the captions!
Ok thanks so much.
I’ll be sure to go a little deeper. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the reaction. If you’re more into guitar, check out Run BTS song that has amazing electric guitar and the dance choreo is just crazy in a good way.
Thanks for your suggestion
These young men very rarely use auto tune.
Plus JK’s natural voice, in the raw, has an auto tune quality without actually using it
They use auto tune a lot but not because they can't sing.
@@csong9940 I never said they "never" use autotune, I said they "rarely" use autotune. Don't get your knickers in a bunch.
This track is a pure feel good track released as a cheer up song for ARMY during the depths of the pandemic… it is in no way typical of their catalogue of over 300 tracks covering a wide range of genres…. Some tracks that reactors typically begin with
Fake love MV
Fire mv
Not today MV
Blood sweat and tears mv
Lives
Run BTS live from
Busan w subs
Magic shop live w subs
Your eyes tell w subs
Hey thanks so much!!!
I generally listen to guitar-driven music. I suggest you check out "Fake Love" next. It's one of their more rock-sounding tracks.
Ok thank you for the suggestion!!
Thanks for the info! I look forward to the rabbit hole friend!!
Please do not say that this song is not BTS. They chose this song specifically because it had exactly what they were looking for. BTS has explored many genres and this is just one style.
Instead of saying this song is not BTS, how about saying “If this type of pop song is not to your style, check out …..”
@@memyoldie Thank you! Sad that even some BTS fans like to insult BTS songs.
@Memy you didn't understand me, maybe you stopped reading after those words... I meant this song doesn't represent BTS as a whole, or didn't you know that the stereotype "boy band" is a burden over them? If you had read the whole comment, you'd have understood.
@J read well and you will see it's not an insult, on the contrary, it's saying they are muuuuch more than simply pop.
That's jungkooks actually voice at the beginning. If you watch the live performance you'll notice it's them singing live. They came together organically and their from different parts in Korea. You gotta check out life goes on the story of bts by Rice squad.
Ok thanks I’ll check it out.
They did not come together organically. They auditioned (except Jin) and were offered trainee positions at Big Hit. Please don’t misstate facts to fit a narrative. There’s no shame in how the band was formed.
@@csong9940 Kookie kind of did come organically, didn't he join because of RM?
Thank you for giving the guys a listen! Respectfully, for your consideration:
1) Sports teams do not come together "organically." They are made by business people for the purpose of making money.
I’ll be sure to check out a bunch more before passing judgement!!

Omg, Fix You makes me cry, and their voices on it... Oooft, so beautiful.
@@michaelgoyettemusic That's all we can ask. Thanks a lot I'm glad you're willing to hear more.

:)
Check out Run BTS, dance practice or live performance in Busan for a more rock guitar sound.
Thanks for starting your BTS journey... the rabbit hole is full of great music and many genres....
Their vocals and stage presence are just...chefs kiss*
As for a live band, I highly recommend Proof Live 2022 "Born Singer" (remix of J Cole's Born Sinner). It's beautiful!!

Yes, they were "manufactured" in the way that pretty much all popular bands in Korea are - originally, BTS was supposed to be a pure rap/hiphop band, but things changed and they found their current form before their debut in 2013.
Oh you're a guitarist? Then you should listen to Dionysus by BTS. React to color-coded lyric video since that song doesn't have music video.
Ok….is it a rocking tune?
My pleasure!!
Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll definitely check out more!
Here are some recommendations:
Tiny Desk (as many have suggested)
Festa Room Live (a good sample of their own songs)
2019 MMA Award (legendary performance that showcased their true prowess live)
Happy viewing ❤
Thier story BTS "from nobodies to Legends 2019"

More BTS!!!!!! Please 🙏🏻
For you?
Ok!!!!
Fix you
Your eyes tell
Stay Gold
On
No
Butter
…
I agree with everything else everyone is saying at Tae is defo coming to wreck every bias or bias wrecker list you have especially with that smile at the the also my jiminie i still cant get over him also their dancing, attitude, vocals and just everything about this MV os perfect.
For their very first full english song they did it perfectly.
Also the fact that every Army right now is being bias wrecked by every member including their bias just goes to show how perfect and amazing these guys are and that they do such an amazing job with what they do as well.
ua-cam.com/video/I8OKEc6rx1M/v-deo.html
This is a guitar-heavy live performance by J-Hope, one of the members of BTS.
Sorry this vid doesn't have subtitles. So just enjoy for the sounds.
Does channel EnjoyBtsMore have only What If performance? I know they have English subs but do they have one song only performance?
Wow es una hermosa sugerencia
Ok thanks so much!
It's Michael Jackson influenced as well. Even his sun praised bts for this song.
Yeah I noticed they all had MJ dance moves!!
Adorei a reação ao BTS😍👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks
Thanks for reacting to BTS ! I think they will surprise you on many levels as this is probably the most "typical" song they've released (they just wanted to share good vibes during covid and make people smile). So yeah Dynamite is good but it's about 5% of what they do. :)
BTS has, no lie, the widest range of music any artist have and hundreds of songs.
That being said, you're really perceptive on many levels, can't wait to see more of your reactions :)
Also, I think you should definitely react to the different fan-made guides about BTS.
Nile Rodgers is the guitarist you were talking about.😊
Thank you! That was driving me crazy!!! Lol
Welcome, hope you check another BTS' songs.
- Black Swan
- On Kinetic Manifesto
- Airplane Pt. 2
Thank you….I think I will.
Are those in Korean?
Here it is:
m.ua-cam.com/video/RRhjdYsNwAk/v-deo.html
Enjoy this journey.
Thanks for the reaction! Hoping you check out more of their work!!! Their live performances are awesome!! 60 yes young BTS army!💜💜💜
BTS- So what, live
Dynamite is definitely not the best choice. BTS just put this song out during the pandemic to cheer up their fans. Please listen to their Korean songs. It’s a completely different experience.
Ok I’ll be checking some of that out soon.
Stop putting their English songs down what is wrong with you
@@ilygojo What is wrong with me is that I believe that their English songs are not as complex as their Korean songs.
I don't know where to start!😅
All I say is that there is a saying: BTS finds you, when you needed them the most.
May you check out "the introduction to the Bangtan 7" by Taylor
That gives you a lot of background info and some snaps of their discography
Or the festa room live 2021 it's kind of a madly of their albums till BE
Looking forward to see more BTS💜
bts is 3 rappers and 4 vocalist the write and produced there songs, this song Dynamite and 2 other all english songs Butter and Permission To Dance was made during pandemic to cheer fams up..
Thank you for your suggestion
Dreamcatcher makes me think if like Evanescence had a baby with Kpop if that makes sense? Kind of a goth glam vibe.
I would def 2nd you giving Dreamcatcher a listen. Amazing girls!
BTS is favorite Kpop group. But if you want to check out Korean Rock, check out group called The Rose. Try “Sour” or “Definition of Ugly”
Aku sangat senang dan sangat menghargai jika ada orang yang mulai ingin mengenal BTS,sungguh mereka idol multitalented&amazing🤗💜thank your reaction😊sukses
thank you for reacting to BTS, please react to more BTS songs
Looks like autotune, but its just jungkook's voice hahah they really don't use a lot of autotune, even in the concerts
Thanks for your suggestions! I appreciate your input.
BTS Room Live Festa 2021 is a must-watch to get a taste of their discography🤌🔥
They are not as young as you think they are. Their age range is 25-31
Oh wow!!!
They wrote a song called Life Goes On during the pandemic that has good guitar in it.
in this case auto tune is a style choice...they don't need auto tune...and always sing live....They didn't write this song but they write and produce a lot of their own music...........React to their story to answer some of your questions "BTS from nobodies to Legends 2019"💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
if u want to learn more about BTS, you can watch the Guide to BTS
They all play instruments and mainly write their own music. This was not one of those songs. This they did to pick up spirts during pandemic. You might enjoy Tiny Desk Concert BTS.
This track is not typical regarding their usual stuff. Their rockier version of Fake Love might be a good one for you to try out if it’s some guitar you’re after. ✌️💜
