If you ever have a MARINE at family day and you see a MARINE without a family please fell free to adopt him for the day. I was adopted by by a family. Made my day. Later my SR D.I. Said “ you ever look at my daughter that way again I will own you! Yep His wife and family adopted me.
Hahaha! Semper Fi, brother! My family....didn't show up for mine, or even tried. So, me and "the few" others that didn't have anybody show hung out and had an AMAZING time!! Sure, it was painful, but... WE were all the family we needed! 💯 But, yes... ABSOLUTELY... adopt one or a group if you're able, so you can see how he is with his newfound brothers! ♥️💛
Facts. My late father took three of my guys and had them hang out with us. Meador, Rohman, and Bazama. Almost 25 years later, I still remember that Thursday afternoon VIVIDLY.
For the rest of my life nothing will ever compare to that day of graduation and the feeling we all had . That feeling of joy ranks right up with the birth of my 3 kids and seeing it. I went back a couple years ago when I was in San Diego visiting my brother. I decided to go see a graduation on a Friday, all I can tell you is that when I stepped on the parade deck after 30 plus years it all came back, what emotional experience it was.
This is awesome. Brings memories. Graduated with platoon 3054, 8/77. Retired 8/97. Three tours as a Drill Instructor and Series Gunnery Sergeant. Seeing this video it motivates me and wish i could serve another 20. Semper Fi to all, Past,Present and Future. Looking sharp. Parents be proud of your Son's and Daughters. Greetings from Santa Rosa, Texas
Outstanding. I'm a retired Gunny. I appreciate your sons service, more than you know. It's all about defending those, who cannot defend themselves. Greatest honor my Country ever gave me, was to be a United States Marine. Semper FI.
@@TheRickbrooks Thank you for your kind words. And thank you for your service Gunny. I’ve seen just how much you guys sacrifice and I don’t think everyone realizes just how much you guys sacrifice...some even their lives. I have so much love and respect for you all. ❤️🇺🇸
Oh the memories. This happened for me and Platoon 1009 on November 20th, 1997. I actually remember getting CATCALLED during the moto run. Those slicks were really flattering for the glutes lmao. We showered and met up with our folks...a couple of my platoon mates didn't have family make it out, so my dad...never enough attention, had them hang out with us. It was wonderful. I still remember the Carl's Jr Western Bacon Cheeseburger I had...it was like a crackhead gettin' a fix, it was so good lmao.
lol I remember family day for my brother. All you could hear was the sound of sniffling from the moms and the dads saying they aren't crying but we all know they are crying.
@@billbossaert1157 thank you for your service SIR. I always be grateful for your country. Thank you for liberating Europe. Hello from France. God bless. Without you Europe will be nazi.
Damn good memories Except I’m a proud U.S Navy Veteran Served 8 years 2007-2015 & 2 Deployments visited 5 Countries both deployments were 7 Months long, yes I know not the same as Marines that go on tours for 1 or 2 years where ever Marines go mostly the Middle East 🇺🇸😎‼️
I'm fine now thank you. my son going on second week and I've joined a great fb site with great info. MCRD San Diego. I know how much this phase of his young life was calling. ProudMarineMomToBe.
During our "family day" (visitors day) in my Boot camp SD in 1980 My parents & siblings were from Mi. So i recall those recruits that had No family attending. Stayed in the barracks shining boots or & writing letters... But i understood to far to travel for an hour or 2.
I'm proud of your Son on graduation day he made it 13 weeks of hollowing and screaming but that's ok he is a marine now and now he's ready to serve his country with Pride and respect. A1C SPRINGER.
I remember my graduation day in 1976 like it was yesterday and this video was awesome. The love of this young Marines family made me blubber like the "grandfatherly" old jarhead I am! LOL Great stuff and Semper Fi Marine!
tcarr Carrasco the best thing you can do for your son mam is to send as many letters as possible and order him to go to church on sundays. also there may be a period were you won't get letters from him and this is do to the fact that in the 2nd month they take the recruits to Camp Pendlton and there will be very little time for the recruits to write letters don't worry your son will be fine and will come back a new person he will come back As My fellow Marine brother and every Marine will protect your son becomes he will become part of a brotherhood. Try to talk to his recruiter back were he first signed up and ask if you could put him on recruiters assistants, if he gets approved then after his graduation at bootcamp he could spend up to 3 or 4 weeks back at home, and helping his recruiter get more boys to sign up for the marines. Also remember he is going to be very tired when he gets out so when you take him home try to give him some breathing room to just sleep and recover for 2 days after that he should be fine to go do family activities again.
There was no such thing as family day in 1957. As a matter of fact, all we got was 4 hours Base Liberty after graduation. The following day, we were put into what they called “Cattle Cars,” and take. To Camp Pendleton to begin a month of ITR (Infantry Training Regiment). The Real Corps!
November 10, 1775, Tun Tavern. The first man signs his contract to enlist in the Continental Marines and steps outside. The second man does the same and the first walks over and says, "So, let me tell you about the Old Corps." 🙄
Not exactly sure what "Family Day" is. We had a "Visitors Day" one week before graduation but no ceremony like this. (1982) But I'm happy for the recruits/Marines and their families in this video! Semper Fi.
Did my service in the Army during the Vietnam War. Suppose to make a MAN out of me. I did not feel anymore a MAN the day I got out as I did the day I went in.
I'm sorry but I was never a fan of civilians oozing all over MCRD (grad. 4/17/'68). Too many Marines forgot to stay tight as soon as they graduated. That was especially evident @ ITR. Of course our troop handlers were salty 'Nam Vets who were mostly short-timers & were either wacky or didn't give a damn & I'm sorry & ashamed to have to admit that. It's a true blessing we now have the Crucible & the DI's are there to maintain discipline. Marines WILL ALWAYS be the BEST! Semper Fi! Jarheads! But re. this video.....WTH has happened to maintaining COVER & ALIGNMENT?! Watch WWII German Wehrmacht troops on U-Tube...much less the SS.....now THAT's proper cover & alignment !!!!

Men and Women who are our most precious asset choose this path, I thank the parents for them.
My son is graduating this Friday and I will adopting a few of his brothers. 🙏

I remember this day so vividly, my brother was completely emotionless until he saw me and my sister..

Been there, saw that..my son graduated Jan 9 2004. He’s now a Gunnery Sergeant. HooRah ! Love you guys, Thank you for your service. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Damn, 15 years and he's only a gunny? That just shows how slow promotions are in the corps...well congratulations though. What's his MOS?

My tears are rolling. My son leaving for Marine Boot Camp June 2017.
tcarr Carrasco how do you comunicate with him ?
Winston Macias by Mail he will send you his address you will get a formal letter from him
jose luis de la rosa they told me that i need to have an app !
you should do its faster !
use the app sandboxx. you can find it on the app store. it allows you to mail pictures to your marine. very convenient.

Welcome to the biggest gun club.
Haha I remember the moto run... we were told not to worry about the pace that it would be slow because it's a bunch of old fucks at the front 🤣🤣

I wonder what hell awaits you if you fall out of the Moto run
